  1. Dor can only be used as a fuel source, the ability it powers must be one the user already has access to. A Mistborn could use it in place of any of the base metals, but a misting could only power their one metal. Atium provides its own power when used, so think of it like a medallion. No one could use for to fuel it as it isn't their own power.
  2. It would probably require a boon from the Nightwatcher to accomplish, but I think Chasmfiends are probably not the way to go. Whitespines are more aggressive and breed faster. If you are willing to put in the time and effort you might as well go with the Lanceryn as they have several advantages over Chasmfiends, namely flight and the ability to consume Investiture.
  3. But once one person is able to do it others find it easier, to the point that multiple High Schoolers have run sub 4 miles. The orders teach their younger members what oathes to say, all they need is for one member to do it. Now that Kaladin has done it I fully expect others to do it in short order. Not to mention the narrative reason that Kaladin has to be the first one to each new ideal because he's the character we've been following.
  4. Painspren are the spren that make warform, that's why.
  5. I do not recall these, could you post them here?
  6. With control of the South China Sea and the Suez and Panama Canals we control their trade with the rest of the world. Not to mention the military bases in Guam the Philippines, and Australia itself.
  7. You are a bold one.
  8. I recently found this video on how to determine true conspiracy theories from false ones, and I feel obligated to share it.

Yes this is what I spend my time doing, don't judge me, or do. It's your life.

      I'd say it holds up.

  9. My time has come. 1. Be the US of A. This has multiple advantages, the first being that all other countries are vassal states in all but name, and the second being that no outside force could ever even come close to defeating the US, and I will die on that hill. 2. Threaten to leave NATO and stop giving any foreign aid to Europe, while also actively developing natural resources in the US. Without the inherent protections the US gives Europe, as well as the military and intelligence support Russia will quickly overrun eastern Europe. Use this leverage to gain almost complete control over NATO member states. 3. Seize the Suez Canal, taking control of around ten percent of global trade, this can be most easily accompished by using staging grounds in Israel, and while we're at it lets take out all the oil refineries hostile countries, sending the entire region into chaos and cutting off oil supplies to all enemies except Russia. 4. Take control of Canada and Mexico, and keep going south to Panama, where we seize the Panama canal as well. This would be incredibly easy as we basically control the territory already. 5. Using bases in Japan, Korea, Guam, and corroboration from Taiwan and Vietnam, cut off all overseas trade to China. Within a short amount of time the lack of food and increasingly impossible conditions the CCP will collapse effectively overnight. Their ballistic missile stockpile will pose a small problem, but if they become too much of an inconvenience, and you don't mind warcrimes(which why would we who can punish us?) We bomb the Three Gorges Dam, cutting off power and causing massive flooding across the majority of the country, killing the already strained power grid, flood response, and infrastructure. This also serves the double purpose of cutting of Russia's last major trading partner and allowing us to completely surround North Korea. From here it's just wrap up, and rebuilding multiple completely destroyed countries. TLDR: If you aren't the US the only reason you exist is because we allow you to.

  11. Ah I see, you are a man of culture as well. So I've thought more about this and I think that while it would be harder to repair, I think that much like gut hooks the teeth are liable to get caught on something and prevent you from using the weapon effectively. Too specific personally. The archetypes remind me of the party roles from 4e. Personally(and this is just my opinion and I may not be your target audience so take this with a grain of salt) it is less exciting to force myself to play the same roll in combat every time for the same character. For example in 5e I recently made a war magic wizard with a level in peace domain cleric. With that one build I have a lot of options for how I want to play, I can sit in the back focusing on a summoning spell while the other party members go melee, I can throw up a wall of fire to give cover and then allow the party to sit back at range. I can spam blasting spells until everything dies. Or if I feel so inclined, I can throw on some half plate and a shield, prepare the Shield spell, cast Spirit Guardians and walk into melee myself. I have all these options available each time I enter combat, able to adapt to party need or circumstances, which I think is more fun.
  12. No, it is a perfectly fair comparison. An allomancer at full power should be compared to a radiant at full power. A 3rd oath Radiant would be more comparable to a Mistborn who could only burn 10 metals. That is not true, The Stormfather can make Honorspren whenever he feels like. And with each subsequent generation Allomancy gets weaker. Do you know how hard it is to get ahold of a Mistborn at all? The next confirmed one isn't for another hundred years. Even during their prime there were maybe a hundred Mistborn. That's a really small army. Um... No. Mistings are 1 in 1000. For each misting Nalthis gets 1000 breath. For each Mistborn probably close to 100,000. Nightblood took 1000 breath to make. And breath do not get collectively weaker, or rely on chance. Even just by population distribution of magic Scadrial is far weaker than Nalthis.
  13. Interesting, I like how you went with rolling dice to reduce damage rather than a flat reduction, that's definitely more fun. On armor, studded leather really isn't a thing. I mean yes it appears in the historical record, but the vast majority of what we call studded leather is actually an armor called brigandine(probably the second most underappreciated armor outside of gambeson). On the inside of the armor is a collection of small metal plates, that are held in place by being riveted to a piece of leather or gambeson, which are what the studs are. It's a cheaper, and more flexible version of plate for the most part. On how the damage interacts with the armor it looks good, though I will admit I have no idea how serrated weapons would interact with armor.
  14. Larkin have six legs and two wings. Broadly speaking Roaharan life is patterned after crustaceans, so I think you are looking a bit too hard at the number.
  15. And if they don't change on energy? This isn't normal matter it's not held together the same way other metals are. So how was Vin not burned to death? Time limit is not on the technology, only on any Fused led war attempts. Do you know how long it takes to aim a catapult? I wouldn't be anywhere near where they are pointing the thing by the time they got it ready. But this is the same situation that has to play out with every person, I'm not the only one with these, everyone has these weapons.
  16. The mists are vaporous forms of shardmetals as Wax himself points out. If they don't even reach liquid state at 3,000 degrees what would they be as a gas?
  17. That's matter/antimatter. Invested matter doesn't change states based on heat, I see no reason it would produce radiation.
  18. Vampires need permission to enter buildings.

If one was a cop and they had a search warrant could they enter?

    1. Experience

      Experience

Well do they need permission from the owner of the building, or permission in general?

  19. The surge combinations seen on Roshar are a natural result of the magic
  20. We've detonated a crap ton of bombs in New Mexico and Alaska, if wind spread was that much of an issue we'd already be dealing with the side effects. And again, do anti-investiture weapons emit radiation?
  21. It would have to accurately land, possible I suppose, but unlikely. Some of it, a vast minority including almost none of the farmland. There's almost 3.8 Million square miles, you'd have to be going out of your way to irradiate it. I apologize I will do better in the future. Well then they are dead and can't hurt anyone else. Reach in, pull the divider keeping the gems separate out: Throw device. Is it possible I die first? Yes without question. Would they be willing to risk it?
  22. Yet, and we saw how hard it was for Kaladin to say the third.
  23. We have Lopen too, and he didn't struggle with any of his ideals.
