  1. Really don't feel like either Eshonai or Elholar belong but okay. Um. I don't know. Rysn maybe...
  2. So there have been many theories about what exactly the Loophole in the contract is, with many revolving around who Odium chooses as champion. I believe this is wrong, as Taravangian doesn't want the contest to occur, he doesn't want to win it, he wants out of the agreement. I therefore propose this solution to Taravangian problems: Kill Dalinar and the Stormfather before the contest occurs. Think about it with those two dead who does Odium have an agreement with? And even if it still bound him Dalinar as a representative of Honor has to send a champion, with him dead he can't name one, placing him in violation of the contract and freeing Odium. Of course I could be wrong so what do you think?
  3. Most of these can be done concurrently, and I'll try to break them down. That honestly depends on where BAM is(I have an idea link is in my signature) but basically every proposal I've seen places it in a city with an Oathgate, so travel time isn't really an issue. Getting there would take a few hours at most, Oathgates and lashings significantly reduce travel time. And they don't need to bring Ishar anywhere, he can train Dalinar on site. They were already doing that and it has been a standstill for over a year. Not to mention no PoV character is part of that so it won't take up much page time if any. That will also all be handled off screen, and travel time isn't a factor considering how many forms of FTL communication there are, and Hoid already knows who he's sending the contract too. I don't feel that that would be a major time constraint, and I actually am going to make a post about it here in just a second.
  4. You forget that there are still 5 more books, and that the Heralds and Honorblades have already been confirmed to be saved for that. Brandon has already said that Dawnshard(the book) is more Cosmere relevant than it is SA relevant, so I doubt they play any part whatsoever. Ba-Ado-Mishram being released is to my mind more about stopping spren from being dead-eyed when oaths are broken than it is relevant to the war. As for Ishar he's going to be training Dalinar, so he's pretty relevant if the war is over in 10 days, critical even.
  5. I'd say the day of the contest will probably be the entirety of part 5, with the other sections dividing up days as needed.
  6. I'm not a fan of bedroom scenes. White Sand was great.
  7. @Nameless* why don't you like Well of Ascension?
  8. Why is it that no restaurant has good fries?

I don't mean curly fries, but like standard stereotypical fries.

They all have like an eighth the amount of seasoning they need and the only one they have is salt.

I wasn't even aware there was a place called Checkers.

Nor have I been to Peru.

Checker’s/Rally’s? It must just be a southern chain

Peru solves all the problems that fries ever had.

  9. Actual stakes. I want the middle 3/5 of the book to just be a total bloodbath on the Radiants side. People I want to die: Shallan, Adolin, Syl, Pattern, Navani, and possibly Kaladin unless he's the Champion or ascends to Honor or something. That would definitely make the contest actually feel like something Dalinar could lose
  10. Nuclear bonds, not chemical, which is in and of itself a conversion of mass into energy.
  11. I keep seeing articles with some title similar to: Yes men think about the Roman Empire every day."

And as a man I can confirm it is 100% true.

  12. That SA 5 prologue one is exactly how I felt, it was such a betrayal. Though from looking around the Shard I'm the only one who thinks that.
  13. So don't post in it unless there's something valuable to add. Which as this discussion ran its course and no new information is out means that there isn't much that could be added. It's against site rules to do so and I have seen the Head Admin get involved in the past.
  14. Until Brandon says otherwise this is what I believe.
  15. He's said that Wax doing everything right only had a chance of breaking plate in one hit, that's him using Vindication's highest caliber round, while tapping iron and pushing with everything he had. I'd say that definitely compares to everything short of anti-tank rounds.
  16. This thread has been dead for over a year.
  17. As Treamayne said we don't want to bring back dead discussions, but for future note please never use any form of "Go read it" as an argument. Instead please cite the relevant section, either by chapter or page number if possible, or quote the section being mentioned. That's a lot easier to find than skimming through a several hundred page novel for a few lines of dialogue.
  18. That would be the greatest thing!
  19. Yay! Thanks Xp! Also I just realized that everyone else is shardbuddies, but we are Shard buddies. And that made me smile for literally no reason.
  20. Considering not even Hoid knows how to change investiture between types I am beyond skeptical. And given how Anti-light was made I assume that Identity free Investiture is made in a similar fashion. Also I took the liberty of adding SA 5 spoilers to the title so we didn't have to use spoiler boxes.
  21. Wayne doesn't want Alcohol to be healed, but it is anyway. And he woke up to it happening, why wouldn't it have healed it before he decided he wanted to die? Besides as @therunner pointed put they both have cities that give them huge advantages, we should consider them outside of those environents.
  22. The WoB is also paraphrased, so what it says is not necessarily what Brandon said. Yeah it was in Teod. If the Dor autoheals decapitation why wouldn't it heal illness? Right before the city came online, but that also had a massive surge of power with it.
  23. I'm imagining that would be after using an Aon, as Raoden's hands didn't heal, Galladon's father died, the skaze say that Elantrians can be killed, etc.
  24. Hard disagree. Way of Kings was the first Sanderson book I finished and that opening was part of the reason I wanted to read it. Kalak's constant worry about dying again, and the strange inhuman monsters, it was so good, I loved it. The Prelude is perfect just the way it is. It does lead to a steep learning curve, but I see that as a positive.
