  1. That violates the terms of the contract, freeing Odium entirely and dooming the whole of the Cosmere. Good job.
  2. Out of context this quote is hilarious.
  3. I retook it just now and got: https://imgur.com/a/UcfE8jf So an almost perfect 3-way tie for second that's only a couple percent off of the top... AND I'M STILL A LIGHTWEAVER
  4. Duralumin makes you basically super-flare your currently burning metals, so you'd be able to form a bubble that compressed time to an extreme degree, making the outside a blur. And yeah it would be problematic for anyone else who ended up inside the bubble. Might be wise to lock yourself somewhere inconspicuous yet out of the way so nobody even bothers trying to get in.
  5. Knowing Brandon, it's both, but the reveal of its importance will be just as shocking as the scene itself.
  6. The microflora lives on the grains of sand, and release Investiture when they're exposed to water.
  7. Maybe if you have a Polestone near White sand and you pour water on the sand... Hoid detects Shallan's lightweaving with a jar of it, and Vyre detects Phendorana with a jar of it accurately enough to stab her with anti-stormlight even though he can't see her directly.
  8. And we know that microflora responds to other forms of Investiture, so is the reverse also true, and you can store Sunlight inside polestones?
  9. ...I'mma be honest. I haven't read White Sand. So I have 0 idea what you mean.
  10. So, no rubies or the like that have been in the daylight of Taldain?
  11. It would not surprise me if a proper Polestone could store Light from Taldain's sun. Have we seen any of those in White Sand so far that would debunk this?
  12. *Nods in Xenoblade* Truth.
  13. I've kind of always suspected that Gavilar meant some super-secret plan that had nothing to do with the obvious, "bring back the desolations" plan. I never really had any guesses for what it is or why I felt that way, I just kinda had a hunch. Also the fact that he told Szeth that he wanted Thaidakar (KELSIER) to know that he was too late, that definitely raises a LOT of red flags for me more than ever before... It's unlikely that the "too late" is in regards to Gavilar making Anti-Voidlight, since he promptly gave Szeth, who he suspected to be working for Thaidakar, a sphere of Anti-Voidlight. It's possible he wanted to give it to him to gloat, but then anything helping Thaidakar would probably be foolish to give right to him, or so he would expect. I dunno, i'm rambling.
  14. Bring in the Primer Cubes/etc.
  15. More people reading Brandon's writing can only make the world a better place.
  16. Or... Valorspren...?? I doubt that Roshar, a planetary system forged by Adonalsium himself, would be PURELY of Honor and Cultivation alone. There's gotta be at least a few sprinkles of other Intents in there, maybe just enough for some of the Spren to be a composite of H, C, and other Shards. I mean, one of the Order's Spren are literally storming MISTSPREN. That raised a lot of red flags when I first heard the name in OB, and I wondered if they were connected (or Connected) to Ruin and Preservation, if only tangentially. And with how we know many varieties of emotion-based spren exist (often attributed to Honor if i'm not mistaken) maybe one of those is a composite with Valor, and they were drawn to Taravangian's incredibly courageous act of trying to bring down a god, and gave him the strength to push through with his actions. Sort of like how Kal attracts Windspren, Shallan attracts Creationspren, etc. Problem with that relation is that it implies these mysterious Valor-composited Spren are the Platespren of one of the most Valorous Orders of KR, and that T was being an exemplary member of the Order in spite of not being bonded to the Radiant Spren of it.
  17. And wait, doesn't Venli remark on a strange look for the Lashing that Kal uses to decapitate Lezian? Is it just how Reverse Lashings look and she's unfamiliar with it because Singers don't have Adhesion?
  18. Okay, sure. Let's assume there's a reliable method for turning Leechers and Spinners into Chromium Compounders, through hemalurgy/medallions/etc. Now you've just pushed the problem back to "how many Leecher/Spinner pairs are in the Scadrian Population that you could conceivably use as fodder to make Chromium Compounders".
  19. I can correct you on at least one point: Hoid's Fortune is not accessed via Feruchemy. Feruchemical Chromium stores the same thing, yes, but that's like saying "Hoid accesses water via bottled water" when he has a glass and a tap of water. The method is different. As for the others, well, yes, it would counter an Enlightened Truthwatcher, but that's not the point. The point is that we're just trying to screw with Fortune as much as possible and in general we're going to see more Enlightened Truthwatchers than Chromium compounders (currently the score is 2-0).
  20. And why is that? Both of them see the future using Fortune, which, like two Atium burners facing off, cancels out and cascades into a feedback loop of different possible outcomes. I see no reason that an Enlightened Truthwatcher could not at least trip up a Chromium Compounder enough to foil their "perfect" predictions and plans.
  21. Also, Soulcasting for food could be so much more broadly useful than just "air into grain". I imagine it wouldn't be too difficult (given that the Lightweaver in question knows about the end result and what they're aiming for) to Soulcast, say, raw meat into a marinaded form and then cook it normally, saving costs on herbs/spices and saving time.
  22. Wait, are the Set's motives/methods at all reminiscent of Taravangian? I just realized we might be able to tell from that.
  23. I didn't say all of them were, just that there's at least a couple that are corrupted from other shards. And yes I agree on that much for certain.
