  1. I see Stonewards and Windrunners more as different branches of the military. The Stonewards are more army and the Windrunners are more Seals. After that you have the "army engineers" in the Dustbringers, and the "general staff" in some of the Elsecallers. Pretty much everyone else is a civilian although some Edgedancers work as field medics, some Truthwatchers are military theorists, and some Willshapers do fortifications. Then Skybreakers do law enforcement, Lightweavers are artists and communication specialists(they also do propaganda and some intelligence work) and Bondsmiths as you mentioned do government work.
  2. Welcome!
  3. A think of them as the random little connections that are made between partials or people all the time.
  4. Nazh She was created by the stromfather at the direction of Honor. She was one of the first 10. All Windrunners do. It is the scene where she is teaching spy tactics and observation to Gaz and co. Tarah is wearing Theylen dress.
  5. That seems a bit hyper specific but OK.
  6. Ryshadium. They were bonding after Gawx got chosen.
  7. Firstly welcome to the shard. It is always good to meet a new theorist. While Honor may have created the honorspren he did not create the Windrunners. That was an initiative taken by the spren themselves. Honor was actually surprised by it. What about his whole generating a force field of wind ability that can stop a hurricane locally? Adhesion is the surge of vacuum and pressure as well as "superglew" It is theoretically possible to bond more then one spren anyone could do that. However are you suggesting that you can temp bond without swearing oaths? That would be a cool power up. Back of Jasnah! She is mine!
  8. Welcome! You could do that or you could go direct into the arcanum unbound collection.
  9. We don't know what it contained. That is one theory but it has some problems. There were multiple gemstones. Also were did Ulim come from? We do not know he meant the parshendi. I personally think he was referring to the GB.
  10. ^^Pretty vivid.^^ All I have was a weird and unexplained Gawx and Dalinar riding horses(I have no idea why).
  11. She is at Urithiru as of OB. Shallan spotted her IIRC. As of the early stormlight readings She said "meeting my parents" in WoKs so I think the second is more likely. My minor questions are. Will Gawx make any progress with Lift? (the two of them are adorable) Will Dalinar's book get good reviews? (Actually can we get a whole interlude that is just a fashionable group of Lighteyes somewhere repeating comments found on OB's goodreads page?) Will Shallan have made any particularly good drawings and will the public have noticed? Did Ash and Taln have a thing and will it be acknowledged by either of them? Will any of Jasnah's girlfriends show up in this book? (I am referring to the historical group not romantic partners)
  12. I personally doubt it because promoting such a minor character so quickly would be a huge risk not to mention difficult but I do not think we have an explicit information to the contrary. I agree they should have a larger role but consider the fact that I am not sure we have a name for him let alone a single PoV chapter.
  13. So I have a couple of mechanical points as well as some historical examples that don't really make much of a difference, I will put those below, as well as some more interesting points. I am very interested in seeing gender roles evolve in the cosmere as the fact that Brandon did not just default to standard tropes in his works has always struck me as a mark of excellent writing. It now strikes me as odd that other writers don't do this regularly as easy worldbuilding . You are assuming that trans people were not acknowledged when that book was written. According to Janet this was during ancient radiant days so people transitioning via stormlight was not completely uncommon at the time. Roshar is interesting in that it has had organized society for many years. I would not put it past some places to have trans acceptance in regards to traditional gender roles although I may be a bit optimistic. We do know that ardents are socially genderless so they have some understanding of the concept of gender being different the sexuality at the very least. This is the aforementioned boring historical and mechanical stuff. They believe God commands the returned to return the way he commands flowers to exist. They also worship the first returned who declared the five visions. There are a bunch of theories about that. The two most common are that he might be correcting it with illumination (making lenses) or that he is so used to seeing with glasses that he has adjusted his perception of his sight to be 20/20.
  14. Welcome to the shard!
  15. Or maybe they can just yell really loudly.
  16. Saj-anat is not in WoR so I am not sure what you mean. He is also sad about Jasnah's death ATM and I am afraid I spoiled the book by not reacting strongly when he claimed to be sad because she was dead.
  17. They said serve in another realm. I agree they may have done something to him(like turning him into a CS) and that would require the type of stuff that you wound not give to an ordinary human agent.
  18. I don't think I would enjoy an entire novels worth of Syl PoVs nor do I think Brandon would enjoy writing them. A few times as a novelty sure but eventually it seems like the kind of thing that gets on everyone's nerves.
  19. He is not he just swore ideal two. I wonder what his ideal three is going to be. His Royal Majesty Lopen I of Alethkar is far too noble to ever hate anyone.
  20. It could also be a group of people more like the US Supreme Court. The court does not legislate but it can define the meaning of a given law or strike down a law that is unconstitutional. This is basically a narrow kind of legislation but it is not exactly lawmaking.
  21. That was not my interpretation. She has less mass(she is a petite lady) so she would not normally be able to output much force but she compensates by just being a super strong mistborn.
  22. I personally think that was just foreshadowing on Brandon's part. Kind of winking at the fans. However I think it pretty conclusive that Sadeas was not involved in the rift except for actions he took overtly.
  23. OK update. He has finished WoKs and has "given me permission" to bring him WoKs two as he calls it. He still thinks that this should be more books and that the number of characters and plot elements is too much. Do I have him?
