  1. We have confirmation of that both from Tyn and from Mraize himself. No. Mraize clearly states both the permission to hunt her and when she is eventually safe from GB members. That could mean a lot of things. Neither can I. I don't think it is there.
  2. What really? The way Mraize states it though it is less loyalty for its own sake and more a "yeah we can't run an organization if we were killing each other all the time." With the possible exception of Elend(I would absolutely have done the same thing and I love Elend) Kel didn't do anything I would consider unethical.
  3. I don't think it is to Tein. I think he is connecting him to some kind of spiritual realm concept or ideal. He is showing Kaladin Forgiveness and Kaladin's mind puts that concept in a setting he can understand.
  4. I don't really see it that way. Kelseir was absolutely ruthless and willing to employ violence. We have all seen the kind of stunts he has pulled from killing guards who were just ordinary employees to fostering a civil war that costs thousands and eventually millions of lives. At the same time he would never have hurt a member of his own crew. He would never tolerate attempted murder as some kind of hazing ritual and he certainly would never do violence for the enjoyment of it. Kelseir from era one would take one look at Mraize and cut his neck.
  5. It is possible he wanted Kaladin killed for the same reason as Nale. Amaram seems to have been the one who cooked up the brand him a slave and get rid of him.
  6. So yes this is one we have known for a little while. We have some idea of what is going on with Nale, Kelek Ishar, Tan, Ash and Jes. Battar is in Karbranth. Her advice may be behind some of the diagram's crazier schemes(She is the Herald of good council). Pailah in my mind spends her time researching insane topics that are of no use to anyone. Vedel is probably a serial killer and I think Chana might be an assassin(Liss is an obvious choice).
  7. Unless he is lying. These insane Heralds are really frustrating. Unless it does not. This author named Brandon can be equally frustrating. He is already taking his whole army but that does bring up a good point. Is he planing to march his army from Tukar to Shinovar on foot without food or water? If this is the kind of stunt he pulls regularly then every member of the Tukari army must be crazier then Ishar is.
  8. Well I just finished the most recent shardcast and that sparked something. We are going to do this anyway so we may as well start now. As they pointed out... Ishar's and his entire army are now in shadesmar They are uncomfortably close to Lasting Integrity Ishar is experimenting with spren A large number of helpless dead eyes have congregated around the Honorspren capital. What I realized Deadeyes are sensitive to Connection Ishar may be crazy but he is a master of Connection He is right next to one of the few weapons on Roshar that can kill him(the GB's dagger). What other points have you all realized. Am I missing something?
  9. I think Hoid was using breath for a particular reason in that scene. He might also just use it because it is easy to acquire. We know that in fact all investiture can store memories because that is what a cognitive shadow is.
  10. Most of your speculation seems reasonable but I do think it prudent to point out that we are talking about something happening thousands of years in the future with all of the technological, political, and cultural changes implied by this. So yeah the shardplate is probably something a bit like living plate but it could be as different as iron age armor is from modern Kevlar. The same principle could be behind it but that does not mean that it works exactly the same way or for exactly the same purpose. Also Navani was learning the rhythms back in RoW. I think it conceivable that other rosharans have cracked this and so on.
  11. I don't think that deal is in effect. Odium's promise is dependent on Taravangian's loyal service and Taravangian broke this when he killed Odium.
  12. It is what he is asking but he does not want to risk accidentally telling Shallan what he is doing.
  13. No. It was not. I will miss Teft SO much.
  14. I think she is basically checking to see if anyone can control Odium's power well enough for it to be worth it.
  15. She knows he exists. Mraize is checking to see if she knows anything else. I agree Shallan is actually a pretty terrible liar for a Lightweaver.
  16. It could be a "what do you think you know about him?" Basically he asks an open ended question in the hopes of getting Shallan to reveal what she knows which she immediately does. Remember Shallan has "betrayed" him and clearly has access to people/information he does not understand fully. If I were Shallan I would pretend to have carried out the mission but said that the spirit had left the dagger the way Kelek said it would. In that case I could still get some information before revealing what happened but I suppose Shallan was just tired.
  17. I believe Brandon answered this but it is just written a bit badly. There are many many more then a hundred fused. We are just talking about the voices in that passage. Exact numbers of fused are unknown.
  18. I think the amount of investiture Ishar has to work with along with all the ways he can work with it safely put him into the "can do basically what he wants" category. Other then the shards I think we can safely say he is one of the four most invested people we have ever seen in the cosmere. Unlike LTR he is not limited to a single, well defined, magic system and unlike Dalinar and the God King actually knows how to use it. There is a decent possibility he is using fortune in some way or maybe he is just impossibly good as sword fighting after thousands of years of practice. Either way he is very very dangerous and a total BA.
  19. Yes he has been a douche on many occasions but that does not stop him from self reflection. Also while his motives might not be pure his methods are chosen quite carefully. A good contrast is that Miles's henchmen were nowhere near as carefully chosen nor was their loyalty or dedication maintained the same way. Depends on your definition. I don't think that method would work across planetary systems. Harmony has trouble doing much of anything at all. He very much cannot break his word though. Exactly. I kind of hope if Kel does show up Mraize gets "fired" because honestly he has not been doing a particularly good job. Era 1 Kel would certainly disprove.
  20. Opps. Forgot.
  21. Converting between different types of investiture is possible but "takes effort." RoW
  22. No. Sazed's entire philosophy is to react to keep balance and let people live their lives as they see fit. He would not be OK with meddling even through another on such a vast scale. It basically means he knows better and I don't think he is that arrogant.
  23. While I agree that Cultivation made a mistake I do not necessarily agree that she wanted peace.
  24. I don't thin considering normal singers a political entity makes much sense. Very few of them have the knowledge or wherewithal to make important choices. Ultimately their fate will probably be decided by who they happen to live near. I agree this is unfair. We know that Leshwi has already changed sides. I think that many different groups of fused are going to do many different things. I will term El's faction Odium loyalists. I am not sure about their action's why but at least we know that they are surviving Odium. Leshwi and co will join the listeners. Other singers will probably chose to die now that that is an option. Nalen is VERY unpredictable. He and his skybreaker's will act according to whatever he decides is a good idea for whatever reason. M**** will be tortured to death an infinite number of times by me. They are still of Odium's investiture. T can still unmake them again if they want. I personally think remaking them will be a big plot point either in the next book or the back five.
