Except that is not the agreement. All Odium has to do is make his forces withdraw from Alethkar(and Herdaz) and enforce a peace. I am not sure that peace would be maintained if team Honor is the aggressors in a new conflict. There is plenty a shard can do that is not warfare. Back five will be post publication of era three mistborn. By then average readers will be cosmere aware. To clarify I agree the contest will probably not go a way any of the participants expect but I don't think we know what Taravangian's goals really are anymore.

That is not what he said.
-
I don't understand. I think it is pretty clear.
-
We know a Wisdom/Prudence shard exists. I think the other one is something along the lines of Correction/Judgement

Marsh's understanding is limited but this might help a bit more Kelseir does not as far as we know meet the criteria of too much hemalurgy or having a contract with Saze so he can probably get away with a lot.
-
He is actually really limited. Member Marsh said he did not want Spook's book but had to let it be written anyway? Also his answer to Wax's question of "who tied god's hands?" He is but even he has trouble with Kelsier. This is the man that overthrew the final empire, founded a religion, cheated death, lied to a god, and saved five nations. Harmony spent a lifetime training Wax for this exact type of situation but I actually don't think Wax could track him down. Again I don't think Harmony would want that even if Saze did and I am not sure how much Saze has inhibited himself. Finally Kel has a body these days. Harmony might be able to stop him from being a CS but I don't know if that would kill him.

Think this is Raboniel actually. She knows what she is doing is dangerous but is still hoping her daughter can be saved. Otherwise I think you got it.
-
Eureka! I was going over the epigraphs with Jescape for their project and got the answer to this question. It matches all the descriptions, makes sense, and is clearly stated.
-
That really is not ironic just human but yes it is quite funny. Harmony usually can't intervene. His intent is to create equilibrium and his own rules prevent it. The way I understand it he can react but not act. Agreed. I worry that he will turn into the joker if this keeps up.

What gemstone might be used amplification (augmentation) Fabrial?
Karger replied to Steven's topic in Stormlight Archive
Decent reasoning. You could also copy the emotion fabrail as it would certainly be useful for a rosharan music performer. -
I am still working on this as I think it is actually useful despite the coppermind being exellent. There is still a lot I don't have though.

New Radiants more Powerful than Old ones
Karger replied to AlejandroTeodoro's topic in Stormlight Archive
I think the fused are surprised at how capable the radiants are generally since they went into this thinking that the only available radiants would be novices. There are probably a number of reasons for this. For example I think a big factor is that more of the radiants have backgrounds as professional soldiers and those soldiers are much much better trained then in prior desolations. Yeah powers are good but efficient training regimes along with things like teamwork, tactics, and planing are all things that modern Rosharans know quite well and matter a great deal more then most people would think. Remember that scene where a group of about fifty professional soldiers make it most of the way to the gemstone just by smart tactics, equipment and training? That is actually quite realistic. The other difference is Honor's death which may have stopped some of the things that limited surgebinders in prior desolations. We really don't have details on that but Notum states this is a reason that the spren bond is still forbiden. -
Dalinar has no option to win the contest
Karger replied to AlejandroTeodoro's topic in Stormlight Archive
I don't think appointing Nale is a good idea. Yes he could defeat Dalinar in a conventional duel with or without powers but Nale might see an appointment to champion as delegating him the right to decide the fate of Roshar. I also don't think any rules for the combat itself were established so Dalinar's whole connection manipulation against Nale would work. -
Is the Davar family responsible for TWO deadeyes?
Karger replied to Czernobog's topic in Stormlight Archive
That is because Shallan lost it in the wreck of the wind's pleasure. Nazh recovered it. -
Themes: the voiceless, the powerless and how we treat them
Karger replied to IndigoAjah's topic in Stormlight Archive
On this I think I am going to state a pretty firm yes. Raboniel presumably knew her daughter extremely well. She is also next of kin and clearly does love her. I am going to say that she is working to carry out her daughter's wishes and I agree with people making personal choices to end their own lives. -
Getting back on track. IF we agree that Kel is in fact Thaidakar can we also agree that he is either approaching desperate or insane?

It is the title I use. Given that you can guess what I am talking about I would from the context and name I would hazard it is a good one.

Timeline and cause of the Return [full book spoilers]
Karger replied to Woland's topic in Stormlight Archive
Or maybe they can sense his emotional state through the oathpact. Either way they seem to have known I agree. -
Timeline and cause of the Return [full book spoilers]
Karger replied to Woland's topic in Stormlight Archive
Not sure how that is relevant. -
Timeline and cause of the Return [full book spoilers]
Karger replied to Woland's topic in Stormlight Archive
Great Question! Maybe? it is also possible that this is because of what happened to Ba-Ado-Mishram or more likely that the oathpact is now partially defunct. Taln does not break until a few years afterwards. We think so and the Everstorm is Odium's newest shortcut around a now failing oathpact. We don't really know who she was working for. It has been theorized she is a sleepless. Presumably the same way Navani did. I do not know how he came up with the method but he did have the entire resources of a kingdom at his disposal. Unclear. Different reasons. Pattern came to Shallan because the desolation posed a risk to everyone and he wanted to learn. Ivory knew about the desolation and thought that Jasnah might be trustworthy. Syl believed in the honor of humanity. Szeth tried to warn everybody and was punished by being made truthless. I would guess the first. Gavilar's actions may have prompted this particular method but Taln's fall made the return itself. Yes? I do not know if it was successful. -
Welcome to the shard!

Hm. Godmetals are a bit strange. There alloys might be more so.

Yes. Some fans have put together a good reference timeline here. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1JJtJhHwpKdow01n2-bsT3scVvqJd6lZh4uvpNwcslv8/edit#gid=0

Except that entire series is after this book chronologically.

Because Heralds and fused have different knowledge bases. You steal it then test it. I fail to see what the problem is. Probably because tests were conducted same as any other science. If she gets made that early in the game she is done for anyway. I don't think that would work. Hoid would have to fool the Seon itself as well as get cooperation from Pattern. Finally doing all of this puts Shallan at a severe disadvantage when she gets home.
