  1. If you liked Avatar: The Last Airbender, this show will give you similar feelings since they both have the same head-writer. And the main character is voiced by Sokka! "Yes, I know, the animation is choppy; but that only is for the first season and by the end you'll barely even notice. Besides, the first season is only three hours long. Why not try it out?" Also, HEAR YE AND REJOICE! NETFLIX HAS GREENLIT THE REST OF THE SERIES. THE FINAL FOUR SEASONS ARE HAPPENING. #GIVEUSTHESAGA WORKED. AND IN MORE NEWS, THE DRAGON PRINCE WON THAT EMMY!!
  2. That happens sometimes. Maybe they'll pick it up again someday, or maybe it'll just be a show you enjoy alone. Maybe tomorrow will bring some news that will inspire them to watch it with you!
  3. I missed most of this signing, so no notes from me this time, sorry. This'll be the trend for the foreseeable future too. But the Arcanum doesn't really need my notes, so enjoy!
  4. I listened to the reading, and that was fun! ...but that'll probably be it for me. I don't partake in the official pre-release chapters, so I'll be spending a lot less time around here until the book comes out.
  5. I posted once and it somehow double posted. I tried to edit an apology and then it acted as if I posed AGAIN. But I see it's happening with you too (and some others earlier), so it doesn't seem to be a problem solely on my end.

  7. In which Brandon assumes the preview chapters have already started. He reads an excerpt from Chapter 7.

  11. Just as a reminder/update/refresher, The Dragon Prince is having a Comic-Con At Home panel tomorrow, Friday July 24 at 3 PM Pacific Time (5 PT Central Time, 6 PM Eastern Time). It's not known what will happen and/or be announced, but I'm sure it'll be an interesting event.
  12. Cool! I guess we'll all have to keep an eye on that then. Either way, today will be full of exciting news.
  13. I've learned I can flambe a little. Brandy is obviously better with bananas, and bananas that have been flambe-d in brandy tasted GREAT in oatmeal. It turns it into some sort of decadent brunch/dessert version. My parents think that if I learn how to make crepes, then the brandy-flambe-d bananas would work best there. I don't have an interest in making crepes (my favorite flavor is really just sugar and butter, and pancakes are overall better), but they do have a point. I'm still working out which alcohol would go best with sauteed mushrooms for an extra decadent spinach, mushroom, and cheese omelette. I'm thinking vodka, but that may be because it's one of the few alcohols we have in the house.
  14. I think it's more of a cultural thing along with a mix of pride and shame. In many cultures and societies, there's an aspect of "no need for outside influence, we'll take care of our own." When that clearly doesn't work, there's a bit of shame involved, and that's what happened. Wax proved that the Terris people were wrong in how they treated Torch, and it shamed them. That shame was then projected onto Wax, the one who was both of the Terris world and of the outside world. And they can't reward an outsider for being right, nor can they reward a member of the community for handling the situation in a non-traditional way. Ergo, the shame and the negative feelings. The Terris people's biggest fault is probably just one given to them by Harmony. He wanted the Terris people to have a place of their own like his homeland in the new world he built, and they turned that into a preservation (and not in the good way). It's a place of stagnation in a world that needs to progress. They see themselves as "better" because they share the culture of their god, without asking how he wants that culture/belief to be shared in the world. Or at least that's how I see it.
  15. Do we know if he's still doing a live Q&A tonight after the SDCC stuff? He said it would be weekly, but I'm not sure if he forgot about the SDCC video or if he planned for this to be this week's video.
  16. That was a great episode and had some super fun reveals! Thanks Chaos!
  17. Welcome! What House did you choose? Which characters do you like the best? Who do you ship? What would you change about the game if you could? Share it all!
  18. From Thursday's Q&A. I assume there will be one or two more revisions. Brandon isn't doing the heavy lifting on this project at this point, and it's probably far easier to get through than a Stormlight revision (in both length, content, and continuity), so it didn't need nearly as much time. I think we'll see this book on shelves by the end of next year, being completely honest (probably closer to a late-summer, early-fall release date, but not too late to interfere with Skyward 3). I'm sure we'll hear more about it in the November newsletter or in the State of the Sanderson.
  19. The Mistborn screenplay has been taken off the progress bar. No reasons as of now, but part of me doubts it's because Sanderson is having troubles with it. The Progress Bar has always done double-duty - to show fans how far Sanderson has come on any given project, and to display any upcoming/recently released projects. Soon Brandon will have projects that have a higher importance value than a Mistborn screenplay (Rhythm of War, Songs of the Dead, Dawnshard, and relatively soon Skyward 3), so for the sake of the site (and the fans) they probably took it down.
  20. I like it, but it's usually second or third on my "current top series" lists (back in the day I ranked Naruto & Bleach higher. Now it's My Hero Academia, with Spy x Family riding the coattails). I started it around 2006-7, around the time that first, awful dub came out on Saturday mornings. I watched up until the Chopper arc, and have been reading it ever since. One of my good high school friends watched the anime exclusively and repeatedly. But it was nice to talk with him about it. Do you watch the series or read it?
  21. So THAT'S what Magellan's Cosmere cameo will be!
  22. Keep that spirit! It's just that I'm not the largest Ladybug fan, nor to I circle her fandoms (outside of the occasional Coleydoesthings YouTube video), so discussing ships with me probably wouldn't be fruitful for either of us.
  23. But Adrien already had friends before he came to school such as Nino and Chloe; and was already a model by the time he joined, if I'm remembering correctly (I watch the show far too casually to care about any of this, tbh). Anytime a model joins your class, you bet they're going to be popular. He was sheltered, not isolated like Kagami. And as a person who did martial arts during various points of his life (Tae Kwon Do, some Filipino martial arts with my dad, Brazilian Jujitsu, and Tae Kwon Do again in college (I haven't gotten to Judo yet, but someday I will)), I definitely respect the skill and time it takes to get as good as she is. Besides, any girl that can say "I like you and want to move this relationship forward," at least garners my respect in my book. We can agree to disagree however, and that will be perfectly fine.
  24. I have nowhere else to say it, but my biggest ships in the series is Zuko & Toph (in a distant future (roughly five years from the end of the show)). But I also REALLY like the idea of seeing Azula & Aang. Azula & Aang: How would this have played out? Problems with this not related to actual Canon events: Next, Toph & Zuko: How this would this have played out? Problems with this not related to Canon events: Am I crazy for liking these ships? Absolutely. But hey, that's nothing new.
