  2. The Shadow Campaigns by Django Wexler (He has two new series out. One is YA fantasy and another is standard fantasy and just came out this summer. I've yet to read either) Draconis Memoria series by Anthony Ryan Those are usually my go-to picks.
  3. Same. I liked it in the moment, but the more I thought about it afterwards, the less I enjoyed it. And now I'd rank it at the bottom of the Star Wars movies personally. I like that people like it, but I can't help but wish it was different. Maybe I'm taking it a step too far, but I found TROS the worst of the Williams Star Wars scores. But I honestly found the entire ST lacking for the most part. I can remember Rey's theme and the Jedi steps because of the emotions in the scenes. And Kylo's theme is good, but it isn't great. The three songs I can remember are Luke's moment in TLJ because it was so awesome, and then the Canto Bight songs (the casino theme and when Finn & Rose are escaping) because they were so different from anything else Star Wars had done. But none of those felt like a "Duel of the Fates" (Luke's moment is the closest) or "Love Across the Stars" to me.
  4. Thanks! I've beaten that path (or gotten to the final few levels) enough times to know what to expect. I sort of recommend it, if only because of the sheer amount of units you can obtain and to see how terrible the game balance is. Finished it last night. Of the early game nightmare maps, this one is probably my favorite. I like the mystery of not knowing where your enemies are and how it's balanced by either cutting a straight path towards the boss, or going around and hunting for all those items and weapons. But still, a map that lets you take 6-7 people SHOULDN'T TAKE UP TO THIRTY TURNS. AND THAT'S THE BEST ONE. The thinking about the Fuga chapter is my single largest roadblock to playthroughs. I'm not joking. There are a couple I can think of that would qualify, such as or I've reached neither. I just recruited In the next chapter I'll recruit EDIT: Some goofs I made to yesterday's plan that should be corrected:
  5. Inspired by @Eluvianii, I decided to finally do a playthrough of Fire Emblem Fates: Revelation I've been putting off. My main problem is usually figuring out who to pair with whom, since I have other head-canon stuff to take into account and Corrin always messes things up. I probably won't play until the endgame, but I do have a goal I need to reach. My pairs for this playthrough will most likely be: We'll see how far I get before I burn out. I'm about to recruit
  6. I'd really recommend trying out Claudia Gray's books. I grew reading the old Jedi Apprentice books in my elementary school's library, and soon after I became a big Star Wars fan (I was digging my way through some of the comics like KOTOR, Legacy & Legacy II, and Knight Errant) Disney bought Lucasfilm. And since then I've read a LOT of the new canon stuff, and I can say with certainty that Claudia Gray's books are easily worth reading. Lost Stars is phenomenal if you want a love story, and Master & Apprentice digs into Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan's relationship in ways that I was afraid we'd never see again.* It's great seeing the tension, even if we know the ending. The only thing missing is a special appearance by Siri Tachi! The best part is that these shouldn't contradict your EU knowledge too much. Obi-Wan's early training is only covered in those Jedi Apprentice books, as far as I know, and those went out of print a long time ago. And what's another Rebel pilot or another TIE Fighter pilot going to do to the list? Seriously, I'd say check them out. Other than that, James Luceno's Tarkin has a nice tie-in or two that allude to his previous Star Wars book Darth Plagueis being canon, and John Jackson Miller's A New Dawn introduces us to a really cool villain named Rae Sloane (who is terribly underutilized after that)...but you don't need to read the book just for her. I guess what I'm trying to say is that gems can be found in both the new Canon and the Legends stuff. And Claudia Gray's Star Wars stuff rocks. *It's described as Romeo & Juliet in space, and it doesn't really disappoint. I read it during that first Force Friday, finishing all of the other books connected and feeling quite disappointed in how mediocre they were. Not discouraged, just disappointed. And then came this shining light of a book that was out of my wheelhouse in terms of subject matter, that I just fell in love with. And I wasn't the only one. Kristian Harloff from Schmoes Know (and later Collider) used his platform to spread the word of the book, and soon everyone wanted Claudia to come back. Unfortunately she hasn't written a sequel yet, but her books seem to do the best out of the new Canon ones when released.
  7. To me, it validates his whole journey, but I understand the feeling completely. I don't think either of us are wrong, but I do wish more people would try to see it both ways. Mark Hamill did say a lot of things about Luke and TLJ, but the one that stuck out to me was how he said he was wrong about his ideas for Luke. https://www.avclub.com/mark-hamill-regrets-ever-making-his-debates-with-rian-j-1823713825 I have a few theories on why people feel this way, but it's neither here nor there. Don't forget that it also brought back the Sith, invalidating the entire Chosen One arc . I find myself torn on Legends. On one hand, it has some of my personal favorite stories, and characters arcs are a lot better. Jacen Solo is just a true Sith version of Kylo with more noble qualities. Ania Solo is Rey without having to spend three entire movies answering questions about her backstory. Jao Assam is the Jedi we all hoped Finn would turn into. (And I still need to read Thrawn's original trilogy!) On the other hand...Chewie gets killed by a moon, Luke stops believing in the Force for while, the Yuuzhan Vong are still controversial, the timeline is so confusing to the point that multiple levels of canon needed to exist to justify it, and the Sith come back.* Overall, I think Legends is benefitting from nostalgia hard, and all of the bad stuff is slipping through the cracks while the good stuff is passing the test of time. (I have a friend who tried to read through all of the Legends pilot books before branching into the New Canon stuff, and he eventually gave up on that project, stating that life was too short to read things that he didn't actually enjoy. ...and that's when he started reading the Mistborn trilogy...hehehe...) Or maybe I'm just used to cosmic resets because I'm a superhero fan before all else. *Although since the Sith returning was pre-Chosen One stuff, I'm not too hard on it.
  8. Those are supremely popular (to the point of annoyance IMO). Path of Radiance is probably one of the, if not the best game in the franchise IMO. Radiant Dawn is many fans' favorite. I dislike it but for arbitrary reasons. I'm interested to hear what you think of it when you do play it. FE 7 is so fun! And FE 8 has some of the best characters around. I really hope we can revisit Magvel someday... Story, lore, shock value, and scope. Fun fact, Awakening and Three Houses were directly inspired by FE 4. The academy setting in Three Houses was inspired by the fact that three of the main characters went to a military academy together before the game took place, and the entire plot of Awakening is like an abridged version of FE 4 with some fanservice thrown in. Genealogy of the Holy War was followed up by Thracia 776, which follows a relative of FE4's main characters named Leif as he fights to free his homeland from those who occupy it. It's more of an interquel, since most of the game actually takes place between Part 1 and Part 2 of Genealogy. However due to the vast differences in gameplay and mechanics, most fans would rather remakes of the games be separated rather than combined. I'd prefer combined, but I know I'm in the minority. Thracia 776 known for introducing mechanics such as Capture, Fog of War, Stamina, and a few more. It's an odd duck in the family, but it's not the only odd duck. A new fan translation for it was completed a few months ago I believe, and it's difficulty makes it a popular game among hardcore players. It's a weird thing, Robin and Tharja's relationship. On one hand, nothing really changes, so there's no problem. On the other hand, Noire's support chain with Robin as her father really don't lend itself to Robin actually being her father (unless it's something like Hinata's pedestal of Naruto, which seemingly came down after marriage (in a good way)). On the other, other hand, Tharja is one of the few wives that Robin has dialogue with in the DLC adventures (others include Cordelia, Severa, and Lucina. I'm sure there's at least one more but those are the ones I remember off the top of my head), and Tharja's inclusion and support with Robin in Fire Emblem Warriors makes me think that the creators want them to be shipped together. Not to mention that Robin and Tharja share at least one banner together in Heroes. The same is partially true for Olivia and Chrom in regards to FE Warriors I'd say (but to a far lesser degree). They have great supports, the game alludes to their whirlwind romance, and overall are cute together. Also fun fact, most of Chrom's love interests seem to be references to other canonical or semi-canonical pairings in FE lore. Definitely try out Nowi and Donnel. They have some pretty cute supports and Nah likes Donnel as a dad. Wait! That's who I forgot above! I forgot to include Vaike and Sully! Yeah, I ship them. I like how Vaike is the manly man but it's Sully is the one who gets all the girls. And Vaike can actually cook (Sully, Chrom, and Kjelle all have terrible cooking skills) and doesn't care about traditionally feminine stuff (something Sully worries about in some of her supports (particularly with Chrom, Miriel, and a little with Vaike). And Kjelle can use Axefaire in a multitude of classes, along with that nice strength boost (Sully passes down a NEGATIVE strength stat, weirdly enough). It really does. Shipping isn't something to be ashamed of in Fire Emblem! It's a perfectly reasonable reason to play (and replay...and replay...and replay...) the games! Birthright couples...I'll try not to influence you too much, but I WILL say that Ryoma and Orochi make for a great couple by their supports but a TERRIBLE couple in actuality. The same is true for Kaze and Orochi. Neither Shiro (Ryoma's kid) nor Midori (Kaze's kid) need the magic she provides, and she utterly butchers their speed stats and speed growths. Let me know who you ship by the end of the game, and then again for Conquest, and then finally for Revelation!
  9. I personally am not a fan of the gambling/predatory nature of them. It's the same reason I'm not a giant fan of trading card games anymore. As a kid they were fine when you didn't know any better. As an adult I find it annoying and almost insulting that I don't get to spend in-game currency to at least SEE what my odds are. To me, that's the kicker. If I'm going for a Red Unit, I want to see that at least there's a Red in the summoning pool before I waste five orbs. Wasting orbs/currency on the chance of getting the color needed and then hoping that said color will net you what you want is a step too far for me, if this wasn't Fire Emblem. I'd rather just pay an extra amount of orbs/currency and get exactly what I want. I'm here to enjoy the games and the characters, not the randomness of predatory nature of gatcha games. Gatcha games and loot boxes are far too similar for my tastes as well (unless the loot boxes are simply skins. Then it's fine). Congratulations! I usually don't play on casual, but I'm happy it got you through the game. Just please don't use Phoenix Mode in Fates... Oh Awakening and Grinding...good times. I too used to grind on reeking boxes, until after marrying Chrom and Olivia for the second or third time I quit and just bought the DLC that lets one grind for exp, money, and legendary items. One of the best DLC purchases I've ever made... You and me both. LET'S DO THIS. Interesting list! We share a few in common, and I'd say the ones we don't are pretty common among fans on your end, so you're in good company. I think you'll have a few fun surprises in store for Fates My list: And third...? And fourth...? Oh have fun! Yeah the announcement trailer was DOPE! I'm not the first and I won't be the last to tell you that Fates is seen as a problem child. There are definitely things to love in Fates: the new classes are delightful, the gameplay mechanics are great (they fixed Pair-Up so it's less broken, both to our delight and dismay), the new characters have some pretty great designs (Orochi (my first Fates waifu!), Ryoma, Hinoka, Laslow, Xander, Shiro, etc), and the music is among the best in the series. Heck, out of all of the FE games I've played, in terms of hours Fates: Revelation ranks second (Awakening is first at over 950 hours, Birthright/Revelation at over 700, and I'd say Three Houses is after that at around 300). But people aren't wrong about the story complaints. Birthright is simple, Conquest has great maps (from what I've heard, I never got too far in) as well as a grating story, and Revelation bends over backwards to explain things but sacrifices gameplay balance in order to do so (characters like Laslow, Nyx, Peri, and Odin join far too late and far too under-leveled. It's possible to make them work - I've done so repeatedly - but the hours of grinding needed can be mind-numbing). At the end of the day, however, you make your own choices and your own opinions. I will leave you with a few tips: 1. If you're playing Birthright, choose a Nohrian class. If you're playing Conquest, choose a Hoshidan Class. If you're playing Revelation, choose Oni Savage. I'd recommend NOT choosing Troubadour, Ninja or Cavalier on any route. You will gain access to these pretty naturally (if you are playing as a male. If you are playing as a woman and NOT romancing the characters that give you the class, then it's perfectly acceptable to choose Cavalier in Birthright and Ninja in Conquest). 2. All units have a Primary Class and a Secondary Class, not three classes like in Awakening. 3. Same sex units can now A+ Support each other. This does not mean they are romantically involved. There is only one same-sex marriage for the Avatar per gender. This just means that one unit can Friendship Seal another. I will explain more in the next point. 4. There are two more types of Seals in addition to Master Seals and Second Seals. These are Partner Seals and Friendship Seals. Partner Seals allow one to take the Primary Class of their romantic partner while Friendship Seals allow one to take the Primary Class of their A+ support. A+ Supports are not mutual. Sakura can A+ Hana in order to gain the Samurai (new Myrmidon) class, while at the same time Hana can A+ Support Felicia in order to gain the Maid class. That means that there is a LOT of room to explore here, so have fun! (Also the Avatar does not A+ Support anyone, but can gain the Primary Class of any same sex unit they've reached an A support with. So max out those supports!). I'll get into a little more detail below, but feel free to skip it if you like discovering these sorts of quirks on your own. 5. There is a second generation in Fates. Yes, it's poorly implemented. It helps if you just think of them as children who came from the future aka Awakening. All you need to know is that inheritance goes: Child(ren)'s Primary Class > Father's Class > Mother's Class. 6. Slight spoiler that I chose not to take on my first playthrough of Birthright and I sort of regret it. I'm putting the advice in spoilers 7. Have fun!
  10. Hilariously enough, I feel the opposite now. I may not agree with many of the decisions made in TLJ, but I respect the creator and respect (most of) the decisions, especially in hindsight. TROS felt like JJ was making a movie to please everyone and in doing so pleased very few, instead of making the hard choice and following where the story led. Part of the blame does need to be laid at JJ's feet as well as people's expectations. Did Rey's family matter to her, when she knew who they were and that they weren't coming back, or us, who were expecting a some sort of twist? Did Snoke's identity matter because he was an anomaly within the story, or because we all thought he may be Darth Plagueis? (Which he totally should have been.) JJ set up those mystery boxes, and when Rian answered most of them (in a controversial way to be sure, but still answered), JJ tried to force the plot back to where he wanted it to go, not where RJ set it up to go (which, admittedly, is what RJ did as well, but in retrospect he was far more graceful about it). In TLJ Kylo talks about killing the past, but he himself can't do so, and in turn the message fails - because that's the point. The message isn't to kill the past it's to learn from the past and then move forward. You wanted Snoke to be the new Big Bad? Sorry, here's Kylo, and he achieved everything his grandfather didn't. You wanted Rey to be someone? Well, she's not. The Force chose her because Darkness was rising and Light needed to rise to meet it. But that doesn't mean she can't forge her own destiny. You thought Luke was going to be The Most Awesome Jedi Ever? Well, he's not. He's jaded and cynical.** He's a stand-in for the old school fans who are gate-keeping Star Wars. But in the end, he still does the most Jedi thing possible and hands the baton off to Rey. TLJ was very light on fanservice, in direct contrast to TFA and TROS. In TLJ Finn and Poe had arcs, as much as I disagree with them. ...I mean, didn't Han do that in ANH, when asking the Stormtrooper on the other end of the line how his day was. Didn't Family Guy make a whole bit about that in Blue Harvest? I understand why people didn't like it, but personally found it pretty funny (especially learning an in-world word for "trolling" which in turn has changed over time). I will agree with Luke throwing his lightsaber away. That's far more awkward. As different as I'd see this analogy, I gotta say I love it. To me it'd be like TLJ was the kid who colored all over the walls, but the colors are actually pretty good (but they do need to go), whereas TROS is the younger sibling trying to do the same thing but uses poop instead. But at least since you sort of like TROS, you have something to look forward to after TLJ... *I've actually come to terms with this twist and genuinely like it. But a poorly implemented twist is more harmful to a story than no twist at all. And this one was very poorly implemented. See how people reacted to Game of Thrones' final season. **Amusingly enough, I find that Luke's arc in TLJ is the exact same arc that Tony Stark has in Avengers Endgame. It's the second half of the Hero's Journey, and it's brilliant.
  11. That's sort of how I felt when I first watched it. Since then my opinion of the movie has gone down to the point I'd rank it in the bottom tier of Star Wars movies for me (and at the bottom of that list too). Because TROS can't let things like shocking reveals or derailed characterization get in the way of the speed of the movie. It's all about momentum after all.
  12. Fire Emblem Heroes. Now let me start by saying I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS GAME FOR ANYONE. Gatcha games are the worst, and while Heroes isn't as bad as some from what I've heard, it's still a gatcha game and now worth playing. I play Heroes because 1) I'm trash, 2) I like most things Fire Emblem related, and this is only half of an exception, and 3) it's cool for all of those head-canon/fanfiction ideas and meetings you always wanted but never had. If you ever thought Marisa and Ephraim would be a cute couple, Heroes is your place to make that happen. You ship Lucina and Ryoma? S support them in Heroes! If you have an extremely fanfiction-y head-canon where: you can make that team! ...minus Saul because he's not in the game...don't judge me... I usually don't consider this a game that I "play," but I'm taking a break from TMS for a moment, and while I want to try out Uncharted again (I have the trilogy on my PS4), I'm not super motivated to do so at this moment. Sometime later this week maybe. If you're interested in Fire Emblem, I recommend starting with Path of Radiance (GameCube...if you can find it) Awakening (3DS), Echoes: Shadows of Valentia (3DS) or Three Houses (Switch). FE 7/Fire Emblem is also a great place to start if you don't mind emulating games. But if you do mind emulating games and you don't have any of the mentioned systems...Heroes isn't the worst place to start playing Fire Emblem (although it's down there).
  13. After seven months, many debates online, a sharp decrease in my passion for this franchise, and 4.5 drafts of a personal revision of how I would've liked TROS and the sequel trilogy as a whole to go (for both creative writing experience and personal catharsis), I think I'm almost ready to watch TROS again. Maybe by October I'll feel ready...either then or sometime in 2021.
  14. Thank you! That means a lot to me. ARE YOU KIDDING I LOVE THIS!! This would have made such a good audio-drama/cd thing! If Three Houses ever gets an anime, I DEMAND the students do something like this. I believe the support you're looking for is the Dorothea-Ingrid support. Dorothea ropes Ingrid into helping her with a student-led opera, and is slightly upset when Ingrid can't really contribute anything in regards to makeup or dresses. But in the end their friendship comes out stronger than before. (I just looked it up, and there are apparently extra lines of dialogue if Alois is alive (which he should be considering this probably should take place in the Academy Arc) and if Ingrid has a B support with Annette.)
  15. I have a feeling it'll be mid-to-late summer 2021. The book will most likely be finished by the end of the year, and finding a publisher shouldn't be too terribly hard. I guess the big workaround will be if this book is a standalone or the first in a series. After that, they'll need to promote it (which shouldn't be too big of a problem) and from there it's a go. Then again, I don't work in the industry. Edit: It also makes sense for Brandon's publishing schedule. Alcatraz 6 will be out by February, and Skyward 3 will most likely hold a November release date (Sanderson's had a book release every November since Oathbringer (OB in 2017, Skyward in 2018, Starsight in 2019, and Rhythm of War this year). That leaves the summer free. Orullian hasn't seemed to have published anything since 2019, and nothing seems to be have a set release date, so I'm going to go ahead and say his schedule is clear for that time slot too. Things may get a bit tricky if The Apocalypse Guard enters the picture, but I doubt it will unless Sanderson finishes Skyward 3 early and is able to work on TAG before starting W&W 4. (And even then, if Dan Wells needs to do a final revision, the book may not come out until Early 2022. But if no further revision is needed, I can see an Early Fall 2021 release. It may require Songs of the Dead to be pushed up a month or so, but for the most part there isn't an overlap in intended audience, so there won't be a conflict.)
  16. THOSE COASTERS ARE SO COOL! If we don't make the stretch goals I hope these are available in the store! If they get to 7 million, then Michael and Kate will narrate an audiobook copy of The Way of Kings Prime. Next week will probably be the last of the weekly livestreams. The finished Knights Radiant artwork (and some concept stuff) for those who didn't watch the stream or do a screen-cap. https://www.steveargyle.com/cosmere
  17. My best guess would be December at best, but we're probably looking at a January/February release. Ehasz and his crew have mostly likely wrestled down a script/outline that they can now go into the studio/record from home for. But the animation itself is going to take a long while. The wait between Season 1 and Season 2 wasn't that long, but it took a toll on the animators. If Wonderstorm wants a repeat, then we'll get the series in late December, but it honestly doubt it. Now that the series is locked down, why worry about crunching for an arbitrary time limit? Why not take the time needed to make this season the best one yet? So TL;DR - I don't know, but, it could be as soon as December to as late as February, which is my personal guess.
  18. Why thank you! I actually came up with a sort of outline of how those supports would go, and what their paired ending would be. Sylvain and Edelgard Their paired ending: Annette and Dorothea - I'd like to see them make a little musical or something. Maybe Dorothea hears Annette sing and tries to recruit her into an opera, but Annette's singing style isn't suited towards that? Then post-timeskip, the two create a new, popular masses style of music as the first Fodlan pop duo. At least let them sing together! Marianne and Petra, in which Petra takes Dorte for a ride, Marianne freaks out, and the two learn to share a newfound love of horseback riding. Marianne and Bernadetta. Y'all can imagine it Marianne and Dedue - Marianne is on plant duty, but there are some Duscur-native plants in the greenhouse, so Dedue comes by to water those. They go about their business in silence. In their B Support, they'd be in the greenhouse and Marianne would ask why Dedue stays around her - she's bad luck. Dedue would note that no luck could be worse than what happened at the Tragedy of Duscur to him, so Marianne's luck means nothing. Besides, Dedue doesn't believe in Fodlan's superstitions. Bernadetta and Dedue - It would start with Bernadetta enjoying whatever that day's meal is, and her gaining the courage to ask the professor who made it. After learning the name "Dedue," Berny goes on a quest to find this person...until she realizes he's probably one of the scariest people in the monastary. Freaked out, Bernie runs off. In their B Support, Dedue, having asked around, would approach Bernadetta and offer to teach her to cook the meal he made previously. Oh I love this! I could see it being funny too, if Bernadetta's love of carnivorous plants actually scares Dedue, since they're considered bad luck/signs of an evil god in Duscur, and Dedue actually avoids her for a small time.* Bernadetta and Hilda, in which the two create a book together and it's really cute. Then Hilda pushes Berny to read it to some orphans or monastery children, and they end up loving it. Thus began the tradition of Hilda and Berny's storytime. Their paired ending would involve Hilda asking Holst to help Bernadetta with her..."family complications." The two soon fall in love, and Holst decides to stay with Bernadetta while Hilda is now put in charge of House Goneril. Hilda is upset by this, but the two continued to trade letters, publish stories, and carry on the tradition of story-times in their respective territories for the rest of their lives. Dorothea and Hilda - I'd like to see how the two compare notes about what they're doing. Would Hilda see untapped potential in Dorothea? Would Dorothea actually hate Hilda due to the latter's manipulative and lazy behavior? In the end, the two would find a way to agree to disagree, ala Sylvain and Lorenz. (This one has a chance of happening in a Fire Emblem Warriors sequel, so I'm not that sad it's missing). Ashe and Dorothea - Only a B level support chain. Dorothea would flirt with Ashe, not knowing that his origins are far more humble. Ashe, thinking Dorothea is from a higher social standing than him, would be flattered by the attention, and the two would agree to go on a date. Dorothea would be expecting a high-class restaurant or something, while Ashe takes her to a more humble, yet just as delicious place. Dorothea is surprised. Ashe completely forgets that the restaurant uses a different type of utensil that rich people aren't as familiar with, but then Dorothea surprises Ashe by being pretty proficient with said utensil. Ashe talks about how he grew up pretty poor, and Dorothea surprises the boy by relating. At the end of the night, the two agree to meet and hang out again, but Dorothea asks for it to be as peers and friends, instead of prospective partners. Ashe happily agrees. Dimitri and Dorothea - Their paired ending: I could see Hubert trying to assassinate Claude, and Claude avoiding death because he's so used to assassination attempts, but he rolls with it because "it reminds him of home." YESS! And by the end of it, Hubert is actively praying to the Goddess for Mercedes to stay away! *This is totally made up, but I'm a sucker for little lore drops (and it could make sense in a way. If Duscur saw plants that eat the living instead of the other way around as a "reversal of the natural order," I can see superstition and bad luck being formed).
  19. Oh you are in for SUCH a treat. It only gets better from here on out.
  20. I mean, you COULD do New Game+. But yeah YouTube's a great option as well. There are multiple compilations of videos with Sylvain and/or Dorothea.
  21. Nope, Seteth's supports are with: Byleth, Bernadetta, Catherine, Cyril, Felix, Ingrid, Hilda, Leonie, Flayn, Hanneman, and Manuela. But I can see how you thought otherwise - there are a LOT of supports in this game! And yet, I never thought I'd miss the Fates/Awakening "everyone supports everyone" style. Even with all of 3H's supports, there are so many missed opportunities! I want to see Sylvain flirt with Edelgard! I want to see Ashe and Dorothea bond of their humble backgrounds, and Dorothea & Dimitri bond over their shared friend group! I want to see Claude and Linhardt get into SO MUCH TROUBLE together, and Dedue stoically comfort Marianne! So many possibilities! But it's fine for the most part. No Fire Emblem game has perfected the support system or who supports who, but Three Houses did a great job in moving how the supports work forward.* And I'm sure if there's a sequel to Fire Emblem Warriors, we'll get some fun supports there. Don't act like Ephraim and Marisa wouldn't get along swimmingly, or that Stahl and Sumia would have been a great couple, or that Reina and Orochi's lack of a support isn't a shame!
  22. I know right!? On most of my previous playthroughs I never really used him as a unit either (I LOVED his supports with Felix and Bernadetta, but never used him); but on my most recent Golden Deer run I used him, and he turned into one of my MVP's (him, Ashe, Petra, and Claude were my Wyvern Air Force, and it was awesome). My only regret with him is that he doesn't have better romance supports outside of F!Byleth and Manuela. But Manuela is best with Hanneman (they're one of the few bickering couples I can stand, mostly because they're hilarious together and they're aware of how complementary they are), and F!Byleth's best romance to me is Blue Lions Dimitri IMO. I used to like Bernadetta and Seteth, but Bernie's best with Raphael, Leonie with Lorenz, Catherine with...not Seteth (Ashe is fine, weirdly enough). Ingrid's supports with Seteth don't read as romantic as I'd like, and while Hilda's are fine, her support with Caspar is far too good to pass up. Seteth and Marianne would have been really interesting to see, as would Seteth and Mercedes... Edit: ...and now I typed out how I could imagine a Seteth-Mercedes support would work... ...and now I REALLY wonder how a Seteth-Shamir support would work...I imagine it'd probably stay at a B rank, but it's fun to think about.
  23. Rhea and Edelgard are two sides of the same coin. Edelgard is who Rhea was, and one of the biggest tragedies in the game is the fact that no one can see that in time. Well, that and the lack of therapy provided (Seteth does his best, but alas, he can't reach everyone).
