  1. Weren't the dawnshards used to destroy Ashyn?
  2. K then let's go with Sitting Nightblood/Boy Picture in the middle of the grid.
  3. I introduced someone to TFE and they refuse to read any more cosmere. This aggression will not stand.
  4. Good catch! I meant that the specifics of how the organization functions or it’s members wasn’t mentioned however.
  5. A lot of the information about this topic isn’t actually expressed directly in the books, but rather in WOB’s or “Words of Brandon”. They can be found at wob.coppermind.net. If you are looking for information on a specific person check out www.coppermind.net. For example, searching for Demoux in the coppermind lists this WOB as a reference at the bottom of the page.
  6. Yes, but if the metal the mistborn is attempting to "destroy with aluminum" is able to be allomantically burned anyway, (which it would need to be for the whole aluminum burning thing to work.) then the mistborn could simply place their open wound up to the metal and burn it normally. Furthermore, this wouldn't destroy the rest of said mistborns reserves, which I'm sure would be appreciated. You're going to have to face it. Aluminum is basically useless for allomancers.
  7. 1.) Um, so even if this did all work, what would the point of this be? 2.) I don't believe that any given metal in itself counts as a metal reserve. The person in question would have to be able to burn said metal. The "metal reserves" allomancers feel come from the power of preservation, and I believe that burning Aluminum simply severs this connection to Preservation, since it is magically inert.
  8. Personally, I gotta go with Allomancy. If I was mistborn I'd seriously mess with physics to see what happens. Btw this topic has been broached a couple of times already:
  9. I don't believe that's true. TLR, for example, could never become immortal because as he aged he needed to store his youth at progressively faster speeds. Eventually, he would've reached a point where his age would become so great he couldn't store and burn his stored youthfulness quickly enough to survive.
  10. Well, yes, but only from Preservation, not "the shards". This is because Allomancy is end-positive, and power is drawn from Preservation, so when you use allomancy to fuel feruchemy, the power is drawn directly from Preservation. Check out the "Mechanics" section here: https://coppermind.net/wiki/Compounding
  11. I don't believe it is possible to set both to either send or recieve mode. I believe that switching one spanreed to send should automatically set the other fabrial to receive. I might be wrong.
  12. I’m thinking Lightsong and the picture of Nightblood as a sword and a young sitting boy. (The very middle square).
  13. Hoid/Wit/Midius/Cephandrius was alive prior to the shattering of Adonalsium, and is alive during Bands of Mourning, placing him approximately 11,000 years old* at the oldest we've seen him that I know of. *Using this cosmere timeline: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1JJtJhHwpKdow01n2-bsT3scVvqJd6lZh4uvpNwcslv8/edit#gid=0
  14. 1.) Posting more than one comment in a row is discouraged here, you can edit your post to make it longer by clicking "edit" next to the "quote" button. 2.) The people in the purelake are Galladon from Elantris, Demoux from Mistborn, and Baon from White Sand. 3.) They are part of the organization "The 17th shard" who wish to learn and observe other civilizations without interfering with their development. As Hoid interferes with nearly EVERY civilization, finding him is a priority. 4.) The seventeenth shard is not mentioned in any book I know of, but is in this quote: (spoilered for length) 5.) As to how they became part of the seventeenth shard, I don't think we have any idea. 6.) Ta-da: https://coppermind.net/wiki/Seventeenth_Shard
  15. The people from Scadrial/Sel/Taldain on Roshar are supposedly hunting Hoid if you're looking for their actual reason of being there.
  16. Taldain recipe for homemade water: Shove some magic into some sand Fun Fact, water is one of the most important foods in the cosmere.
  17. Yes, but the point is that its possible that Evi's religion has been indirectly influenced by the Iri into a belief in Adonalsium.
  18. Evi is Riran, and Riran religion is heavily influenced by Iri religion, and the Iri are not native to Roshar. It is possible that the Iriali's original religion did in fact worship Adonalsium, and this has been passed down through generations into the present day Iriali and the Rirans, and consequently Evi, even as knowledge of the Cosmere faded. This is based on my whole one point of evidence however, so theres a decent chance this is incorrect.
