The Cognitive realm isn't safe or consistent. You need a special vehicle just to travel around in most of them (Spren ships on Roshar or Hoid's corps boat on Scadrial). There are even regions like Sel where you might not even be able to survive there because of the loose Investiture. There's also the fact that uninhabited worlds don't manifest in the Cognitive realm. If you want to reach an unsettled world you need to do it in the Physical.

I had another thought that I wanted to add after rereading Dalinar meeting the Nightwatcher. Her physical manifestation is in the form of mist. Taken along with the fact that the Stormfather manifests as stormclouds, it would make sense for the Sibling to manifest as some form of water.

Hasn't he also implied that the bubbles can be moved, and they just haven't discovered how yet?

There is a side to this that I haven't seen brought up yet, Jasnah has probably already spent time figuring out the best way to kill a member of each order, just in case she needed to at some point. Kaladin, being the big softy that he is, has almost certainly not considered this.

What KR Order Would Kelsier Be?
SwordNimiForPresident replied to Zephrun’s Imperium's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I've decided to take the same cop out that I used in the Sorting Hat thread, someone needs to ask Brandon this. -
Which Shard would you take up?
SwordNimiForPresident replied to ShardofThought's question in Cosmere Q&A
Ruin. If it hadn't been tricked by Preservation, it probably would have been the most dangerous one. Plus, I wouldn't have the same aversion to picking up other Shards that Rayse has. I'd merc his chull and take his Shard too. Imagine a Ruin/Odium combo. -
What KR Order Would Kelsier Be?
SwordNimiForPresident replied to Zephrun’s Imperium's topic in Cosmere Discussion
You don't have to be remorseful, you simply need to pick yourself up, and do better. The most important step is the next. Edit: I also think that Kel would dislike all Lightweavers on principal, because Hoid is one. -
What KR Order Would Kelsier Be?
SwordNimiForPresident replied to Zephrun’s Imperium's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Well the Divine Attributes of the Bondsmiths are pious and guiding. He literally founded a religion, so we can check pious off the list. As for guiding, he saved the Southerners and taught them all kinds of stuff about the Metallic Arts. He also left behind artifacts to teach his various followers what they need to know to save themselves later on. I don't know enough about the Sibling to say whether it would bond Kel, but I think the Nightwatcher might consider it. If we are looking at it from a "UNITE THEM" standpoint, he did leave behind two continent spanning nations that both seem to regard him with religious/secular importance. Edit: One last point. Ishar, who is patron of the Bondsmiths, was called the Binder of Gods. I think Kel put the Lord Ruler in a pretty serious bind -
What KR Order Would Kelsier Be?
SwordNimiForPresident replied to Zephrun’s Imperium's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Given that he became a God to his people, I would say Bondsmith. If I'm going purely by the "feel" of his character in terms of powers, I'd probably go with Skybreaker or Dustbringer. Breaking things goes without saying, and Gravity or Adhesion would make him an even more deadly fighter. The order that would be most useful to him would probably be Elsecaller though. Instant access to the CR and soulcasting are to good to pass up. Now if only there were a sexy and single Elsecaller out there with a proclivity for late night murder in dark alleys for him to hook up with. -
How is Edgli not worried
SwordNimiForPresident replied to Toaster Retribution's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I think the Unmade might be to heavily Invested for Nightblood to eat. They could have just tossed him into Nergaoul at the End of OB if he could. Actually that could be a good strategy for using Nightblood without getting eaten. Let Nergaoul leak out of the gem he's trapped in so Nightblood can eat that instead of your Stormlight. Also, Nightblood would look cool with an evil ruby attached to his hilt. -
Shallan and Nightblood
SwordNimiForPresident replied to SwordNimiForPresident's topic in Stormlight Archive
I think that, even if Shallan feels she deserved to die, she still wouldn't meet the "someone who would try to take the sword and use it for evil purposes, selling it, manipulating and extorting others, that sort of thing" part of the test. I also think that Hoid's talk with Shallan in Kholinar helped get her on a path of self forgiveness that would save her from herself. I also think that she feels justified in killing her parents, even if she feels guilty for it. -
Shallan and Nightblood
SwordNimiForPresident replied to SwordNimiForPresident's topic in Stormlight Archive
To be fair, I think the Nahel bond would give someone the mental fortitude to resist Nightblood's murder rage. Pattern would start buzzing and break her out of the trance. Warbreaker spoilers Also, Nale and Szeth both passed the test. If ever there was someone guilty of murder. it's those two. -
Shallan and Nightblood

TFW it it goes over their head -
I think that Nightblood will like Shallan, she will be one of the first people he meets that actually wants to draw him. I think he will later be very disappointed.

How do you think first half of SA will end?
SwordNimiForPresident replied to Kelevra's topic in Stormlight Archive
Taravangian tricks Odium into making Renarin his Champion. Renarin convinces Dalinar to fight and kill him. Many sad feels are had. Equally soul crushing would be if Dalinar had made Adolin the Champion and he had to kill Renarin. -

How do you think first half of SA will end?
SwordNimiForPresident replied to Kelevra's topic in Stormlight Archive
Dalinar didn't accept being his champion did he? Also, Dalinar never appointed his own champion. It would be odd if the contest of champions was finished before either side had a champion. Not sure why your post was so hostile, but good luck with that. -
Soulcasting Advanced Materials
SwordNimiForPresident replied to SwordNimiForPresident's topic in Stormlight Archive
They might also be able to soulcast a neutron burst to kill everything in the target area without destroying the infrastructure. Now that I think about it a Lightweaver might be able to cause the same effect with X-Rays. -
Soulcasting Advanced Materials
SwordNimiForPresident replied to SwordNimiForPresident's topic in Stormlight Archive
@Weltall thanks for the link. The part about conveying the knowledge to the soulcaster might not be that big a barrier though. Given what we know about the orders so far, the Elsecallers actually seem like the most likely group to discover things like advanced physics anyway. As for the part about antimatter, the fact that it reacts the way it does is part of what made me wonder if it was possible in the first place. With the proper knowledge, every soulcaster becomes a walking nuclear explosion, in the gigaton range, waiting to happen. -
I was rereading Oathbringer recently and part of the main battle sequence got me thinking about the limits of soulcasting. In particular, the scene where Jasnah soulcasts air into stone and the text mentions "individual axi of air" aligning and forming stone. I take axi to mean either atom or molecule in this context. So this leaves me wondering if a strong knowledge of physic and chemistry could allow a soulcaster to create much more advanced things. Some ideas I had include: carbon nanotubes, graphene plates, degenerate matter, antimatter, entangle particles and complex machinery such as microprocessors, nanites, quantum computers and nuclear weapons. Since they can also produce organic matter like grain and blood, could they also create genetically enhanced organisms like super viruses or white blood cells that can kill any disease? What about super foods? What about entire bodies? If any of the things in that list are possible then Roshar is going to be a major player in the future Cosmere and a world hopping Elsecaller would probably be extremely rich.

If Kaladin gets to bring his Squires, Jasnah gets to bring her armies and her uncle and her cousin and her shardbearers and her artifabrians and her ward and her.. well you get the point.

Where did Kelsier get his new body?
SwordNimiForPresident replied to Nightblade's topic in Cosmere Discussion
That's both weird and gross. I guess he picked up the wood chips in the same place he grabbed the Shardblade. Either way, another theory foiled. -
Where did Kelsier get his new body?
SwordNimiForPresident replied to Nightblade's topic in Cosmere Discussion
So as I said earlier, I believe that Cognitive Shadows are able to inhabit the bodies of the insane or the willing. The easiest see proof of this in the Fused. The shadow of the Fused that wants to enter a new host waits in the Cognitive realm is able to enter the gem heart of a singer during the Everstorm. I think that the Singers are easier for a shadow to bond with because of their gem heart. This bypasses the need for the host to be insane and therefore have a "cracked" soul. Another piece of evidnece that is less clear is Taln's return. When he enters Kholinar he has bits of wood in his matted beard. This leads me to believe that he inhabited the body of an insane person that was living in the wild and was outside during a Highstorm (I'm assuming that a perpendicularity or other sort of realm merger is needed for the swap). I also believe that Cognitive Shadows that have regained a physical body have a passive healing ability. My thinking here is that both the Fused & the Heralds look like themselves and are therefore using some kind of Investiture based healing that is making their bodies heal towards their Spiritual Ideal. When Moash meets Leshwi for the second time she has the same coloring as her previous body (this could also be explained by the other Fused selecting the right body for her, so there's that). Another example is that Ash recognizes Taln when she finds him in Thaylen City. With all that in mind, I think that Kelsier had Spook lead either an insane person (criminally insane?) or an extremely devout Survivorist (maybe someone that was terminally ill?) to one of the perpendicularities on Scadrial and took control of their body (the stuff in parentheses is my personal moral justifications). The passive healing that I mentioned above would gradually change that body to match Kelsier's Spiritual Ideal and give him back his scars. This theory also got me wondering about another Immortal with a mysterious ability to heal. Could Hoid be a Cognitive Shadow? Anyway, have fun tearing down my dreams
