  1. I realized after I had posted that there was probably a list on the coppermind. There is of course. I completely forgot about the cook.
  2. It's interesting that he said we've met a couple sleepless. There's obviously Arclo and the dead sleepless that was in Dalinar's vision of Aharietiam. I think that Mraize could be one. He recognizes Ash when he meets her, and his "scars" could easily just be an effect from the way his bugs fit together. There's also the one that I suspect Hoid was talking to at the end of WoR just before Jasnah Elsecalls back to the PR. Has anyone else spotted others?
  3. I haven't seen anyone mention that Inquisitors need to rest frequently. Something about the arrangement of their spikes causes them to become tired very quickly. I think we get a PoV from Kar that mentions this. Edit: Just confirmed it, it's chapter 38 just before Vin busts through the glass and mercs TLR.
  4. Yea that's what I was implying with cymatics. I haven't reread WoK in a while, but if I remember correctly each of the Dawncities has a specific cymatic pattern associated with. I always assumed that the symmetry of the Shattered Plains was just Stormseat's cymatic pattern coming through.
  5. Gravitation plus Abrasion would be pretty crazy now that I think about it. With zero friction the acceleration of gravity would get you to some pretty extreme speeds very quickly. Nothing obvious comes to mind for Stonewards and Lightweavers, but I'm probably just blind. Edit: Cohesion plus sound waves could probably deliver some pretty impressive results, like the cymatics that Kasbal talks to Shallan about.
  6. Plate seems to limit range of motion quite a bit. You could probably still use some moves, but it would be pretty awkward. I think the duel where Adolin dismissed his blade and beat the other guy with his fists is a good example of how to go hand to hand with plate. Use its power for strikes rather than holds. Once you shatter a piece, the person underneath is very squishy.
  7. I'm not sure how well that would work. Kal probably has at least 30 pounds on Jasnah, but they're both in plate so its pretty negligible. He'd basically be lifting her into the air gently. I also don't know how much good it would do him to grapple with her. He is very inexperienced with plate, and since they both have it, their strength is close enough to being equal that it wouldn't be a factor. In my opinion, his best chance (slim though it seems to me) would be his martial ability with the spear. Personally I see the fight ending with Kal soulcast inside of a block of something a la Han Solo in Empire.
  8. If Feruchemy is in play there are a lot of potential applications. AOE healing/food/heating/cooling/weight/breath... the list goes on. That being said I'm not sure how Ettmetal would interact with Feruchemy. If it just grants the stored aspect in a general area it would make an ideal life support system. You could deploy it on the surface of any terrestrial planet and have a bubble that normal people could live in regardless of atmosphere or gravity. You could probably even deploy it under water for similar effects. This would make medallions a bit redundant though, so I'm guessing that it doesn't work that way.
  9. I'm not sure what good it would do to lash himself while grappling. He would not be able lash Jasnah since she has plate.
  10. I was not aware of that. I should have stayed through the credits I guess.
  11. Yeah, that's why I assume she can. I was just pointing out that we haven't seen it done, so there is room to wonder. Personally I think she does it the same way Shallan does. I expect that if there are differences in how each order uses their surges, the difference in Soulcasting would be something else.
  12. If Awakening was evil, it couldn't have created a sword (which is totally not evil) to destroy evil. I rest my case.
  13. Yea I thought it was the Cohesion error. I wish he was a little more clear though. Does that mean that the Stoneward was using only Cohesion, which he clearly does not share with Dalinar. Or does it mean that the Stoneward was using Cohesion and Tension and was in error because he said the wrong one of the two? Why even have him mention that it would serve Dalinar differently if it was Brandon's error in the name of the Surge? I wish it was more clear, but I'll accept that the scene it isn't a good example of what I'm getting at. I had a few other thoughts here. We've never seen Renarin use Progression to grow plants, so we don't know if he can do that. We've never seen Jasnah talk to the souls of things she is Soulcasting, so we don't know if she can do that (personally I think she can, but for what ever reason Brandon didn't include it in her PoV). I'm not saying any of this is definitive, but it does leave room for questions. Hopefully we get to see some Division from Szeth and some Abrasion from Malata, in the next book.
  14. The Stormfather also notes to Dalinar that the surge he shares with the Stoneward will not work the same way for him (I'm willing to let this go since this is back into Bondsmith territory). I'll try to think of any other examples in the mean time.
  15. I specifically noted that. What about the one that causes objects to be drawn to an object? The Kal uses on arrows a few times throughout the books.
  16. I don't have the book with ATM, but doesn't Szeth specifically mention that he doesn't have access to all of the lashings as a Skybreaker? I think its the chapter where he's doing the test at the Purelake. Obviously he doesn't get the one that comes from Adhesion, but what about the one that pulls things towards another object? It would have been really useful in the lake test for deflecting chalk bags, but he never used it.
  17. I assumed that Truthwatchers didn't use external illusions, they're Truthwatchers after all, not Truthshowers. If the other orders with intersecting surges are any indication, there is no reason to believe that Truthwatchers would use Illumination in the same way that Lightweavers do. We look at Illumination by its standard definition "to shine light on things", but it can also be "clarifying or explaining something".
  18. I think that this is partly due to their culture. If the elderly bequeathed their breath to their family before they died, there would actually be a breath surplus. I look at it the same way as Hemalurgic spikes. If you had one, and you were dying, would you leave it to a cherished family member? or would you tell them to slag it so no one else could benefit from it? I get that giving away your breath when you're old is pretty much a death sentence, but at least its on your terms and you get to give something to the people you love. I expect in future Nalthis breath will be traded like stocks in an exchange.
  19. Thanks for the correction, but it doesn't change the idea I was conveying.
  20. You are not a drab. A Nalthian with one breath is the same as a normal person everywhere else. It's a but like a person who somehow survived having part of them stolen with a Hemalurgic spike, though not as drastic.
  21. Why you call Lunu'anaki this thing? Must be air sickness, come back to peaks.
  22. Cadmium refrigerator, Bendalloy oven and washer/dryer.
  23. I guess we're stuck waiting for the Stump's PoV to see what Truthwatcher surges do.
  24. Is there a WoB on that? You're probably correct, I was just assuming that, since his Surges were running on Stormlight, they were the same ones he would have gained from an uncorrupted Spren. There is this from the OB epigraphs though. Maybe the Truthwatchers were just keeping it a secret from everyone for reasons we don't yet know. I know Vorins think that future sight is of Odium, but all of the Shards technically have access to it. Hoid says that you should be careful of people that claim to know the future, but he doesn't explicitly say that it is of the enemy.
  25. Could Kelsier be Sazed's inspiration for the Path? He seems to have done more good than harm.
