  1. The Sibling is supposed to be central, as in important. Sorry, I see how the wording might have been confusing. Though on this same train of thought, Urithiru is between the Valley and the Purelake. Maybe the Bondsmith spren like to hang around that region.
  2. What if the Sibling is the Purelake? It's supposed to be central to Urithiru, and I feel that a sentient mass of Invested water that is always warm and is able to move under its own pressure would be pretty handy in a high altitude city with no natural water source. If the Stormfather can just be wind, can the Sibling just be water?
  3. @Calderis Thanks for the WoB. One part of it I find interesting is his statement about the "natural state" of the world. This raises two questions in my mind. One, what is the natural state of an entirely manufactured world given that it is, by its creation, unnatural? Two, the planet has been moved and remade at various points, so how does that relate to it's natural state? I like the meta argument that, since P/R designed the planet, they also designed the magic system. Another thought I had, what if a planet is depopulated? Would it lose it's CR? What about its magic? How much of the "natural state" is tied up in the CR?
  4. If you're actively storing, the temperature of your skin shouldn't be able to get high enough to burn.
  5. It's in one of the broadsheets from Era 2 Mistborn. @Invocation Beat me to it.
  6. I think Feruchemy is a fundamental magic of the Cosmere and that the 16 metals we know are just the ones that P/R decided to use for their world. I like the idea that there are other metals/aspects out there that can be used.
  7. The metallic arts and Scadrial were custom designed by the Vessels of Preservation and Ruin and work anywhere in the Cosmere. Scadrial has been physically moved twice and remade once with no effect on the metallic arts, other than the intentional changes made by Preservation’s vessels.
  8. The magic all Comes from the Spiritual realm, which is nondimensional. This would make location (and planet) irrelevant. The magic systems that are location dependent are that way because accessing the Spiritual realm requires a stepping stone like the Dor. If, for example, Sel was destroyed, Aona and Skai’s corpses would still be in the CR. Eventually Sel’s CR would fade away and the neighboring CRs would creep into the Dor. Another example would be Roshar. If the planet was destroyed, the Highstorms would no longer be around to grant Stormlight. If said destruction destroyed the Spren as well, then the magic system would be lost. If it didn’t, the Bonsmiths would still be able to summon Honors perpendicularity and give access to Stormlight.
  9. I think she’s uninterested because she has never been able to find someone that is her equal. I mean this physically, magically and intellectually. She is easily one of the most powerful, intelligent and beautiful (not to mention dangerous) women in the Cosmere. She seems like the kind of person that would seek a partner that can challenge her.
  10. For me its not even about right and wrong. Murder is objectively wrong. Sadeas however, poses a clear threat to Adolin's life and the lives of those he cares about. I wouldn't even need to be angry, I'd murder him in cold blood. I might have even waited until he turned away and knifed him in the back, just to be sure of the outcome. I certainly would not be eligible to become a Radiant if I were in the Cosmere. Edit: Now that I think about it, this is probably exactly how Jasnah would deal with it, except she would have burned out his eyes/turned him into smoke. I guess I could be a Radiant.
  11. I think general consensus is that Trell is another Shard.
  12. This. My gripe, MOAR Jasnah. Though I totally understand her lack of PoV time up till now.
  13. If someone did to me what Sadeas did to Kholin and Co, I would murder them, by any means, without hesitation or remorse. Adolin was completely justified.
  14. Identity that is stored in an aluminummind is either always keyed, or always unkeyed, and I can't decide which it is. My thinking is as follows. When you store Identity, you don't have Identity, but you did have Identity when you started storing it. It's one of those "which came first" paradoxes. Help me.
  15. I wonder how fast this would use up their chromium. Same idea for Breath too, I wonder what the conversion to grams of chromium is.
  16. The Spren choose the Radiant. I think Nale "forced" prospects into the Skybreakers by making them squires.
  17. Everything Calderis said. Also, I expect we will see some kind of trial for Adolin in book four. I'm thinking something along the lines of Perin Goldeneyes, where his own sense of honor makes him demand a trial while everyone around him tries to get him to just take an easy way out. I wouldn't be surprised to see Renarin become the heir.
  18. "You didn't listen to me," One last lesson. The hardest... "I did not come here to win, I came here to kill you" Courtesy of the most savage mofo in any book ever.
  19. Dalinar with his Bondsmith powers + any of the Honor Blades but Ishar's. He could open a perpendicularity for nearly infinite Stormlight and go hog wild with the surges from the blade. Oddly I think the coolest combo might be him with Pali's blade. Imagine a Truthwatcher's lightweaving while standing partially in the SR. He might achieve Shard level precognition.
  20. The shift from Well of Ascension to Hero of Ages was pretty similar. Thing go from “oh no, we’re at war” to “the sky is literally falling” in just one scene.
  21. I don't think you could store the Dor in a Nicrosilmind. The Investiture doesn't actually move through the Elantrian, it moves through the Aon. You could probably store your Elantrianness though. You could probably even fill the Nicrosilmind pretty fast if you were standing in Elantris when you filled it. I've recently been wondering if Elantrians could use other symbols that are geographically significant to Sel when they're traveling. I remember Shai thinking that the base symbol for Forging looked like Mai Pon, and the symbol the Bloodsealer used looked like their swampy homeland. Maybe if an Elantrian used the Mai Pon symbol while in the Rose Empire they could make their magic work. It would probably be weaker since they're also pretty far from the Aon Rao that makes Elantrian magic so much stronger, but it would still be better than nothing.
  22. Odium was their god. He probably directed them to go to Roshar, after destroying their world, as part of his plan for killing Honor and Cultivation.
  23. I think feruchemical bendalloy would be the most interesting metallic are for Lift to pick up. She could pig out all the time and have nearly unlimited fuel for her surges.
