  1. Put an aluminum core in a steel jacket bullet with just the end of the core exposed at the front and back. You could probably even do it with a softer jacket that’s meant to peel off on impact and let the core continue through the target.
  2. If anything, the fact that he did it from inside a speed bubble probably makes it harder. He would have needed to time his shot based off when Wayne dropped the bubble. This shot has actually always bothered me because of how impossible it would have been. Unless it was some sort of “Harmony take the wheel” thing, it’s probably the biggest plot hole in any Cosmere book. I was more or less using it as an example of how, if true, the Hemalurgic aluminum bullets make all of the magic in the Cosmere irrelevant. Basically any idiot with aluminum bullets trumps anything less than a Shard.
  3. If it is a metalmind, it’s probably the one that he used while filling the bands. I can’t imagine that it’s very relevant to the story though. Aluminum Feruchemy’s purspose is the making of unkeyed metalminds. Tapping one isn’t going to turn you into Kelsier. As for the part about it being unkeyed, I would think that all aluminumminds must be unkeyed given that you are storing Identity.
  4. They used an already charged spike. We are talking about using an uncharged piece of aluminum to remove all of the targets abilities. Makes total sense that you could shoot an already charged spike into someone. In SoF they didn't even need to worry about bind points because the goal was merely to get her over the two spike threshold for Harmony to take control. As for being precise, Wax shot a bullet that was in flight. Assuming that the aluminum bullet theory is true that makes Wax the answer to all of the "who would win in this fight?" scenarios that get posted. He can hit a target that is moving several times the speed of sound that is also smaller than half an inch wide and has ready access to aluminum. Step aside Hoid and Kelsier, Wax is the new king of the Cosmere.
  5. Breath is Investiture. The way I understand it is (and I could be completely wrong) that BioChroma is Physical Investiture like Stormlight or Atium that, when held by a person, grants them access to different levels of Spiritual Investiture (long life, perfect pitch, ect..). If aluminum bullets are able to remove either type then breath would not help at all. This would make the Cosmere an extremely boring place. "Uh oh here comes a Fullborn who has bonded all ten Honor Blades.. oh nevermind I brought my normal gun and one aluminum bullet, we good".
  6. That WoB seems story breaking. I think that's the problem with putting an author on the spot like that, it forces them to make up cannon stuff on the fly. Like I said, this means Hoid can be killed by a single aluminum bullet, assuming it removes all Investiture rather than just physical Investiture.
  7. I think that depends on a few things. Do you have to be holding the spike in order to make it Hemalurgic? Or does your intent stay with it while it’s in the air? What kind of Investiture does it steal? There are generally two types. Physical Investiture like BioChroma or Stormlight, and Spiritual(?) Investiture such as being an Allomancer or the Nahel Bond. I feel like it has to be only Physical Investiture because otherwise Hoid would be one aluminum bullet away from death.
  8. I always felt like Elend becoming a Mistborn was Vin's reward for making the right choice. For most of the book she was conflicted about who she "belonged" with, the Mistborn or the person she loved. In the end she chose love and was "rewarded" with having that person made a Mistborn and her "equal".
  9. This pretty much. I’ll also add that it would boring if Brandon makes every series end the same way, with a new vessel taking up Shards and saving the day. It seems to me like the end of Hero of Ages Mistborn spoilers because I can’t see which forum this on my phone I’d much rather see Honor not be taken up but instead have it’s power “directed” by Dalinar. That’s to say that he can access it’s power in a limited way or assign to do something like resisting an attempt by another Shard to destroy the planet. More Mistborn spoils
  10. I guess that’s fairly good evidence that he hasn’t been off world as well. If you’re gonna world hop it only makes sense to hit up Nalthis long enough to reach the 5th heightening which would make Atium compounding pointless. I forgot to add something Marsh could have bee doing all this time so here it is. Hang around graveyards at night and scare the rust out of rebellious teenagers.
  11. He wouldn’t need to compound Atium, he’s an Inquisitor. They have unnaturally long lives (presumably as a result of the bind points that were used to make them). Marsh mentions it to Kelsier at one of their meetings after Marsh infiltrates the Steel Ministry. This doesn’t mean that he isn’t still compounding those other metal, or even Atium, it just means that he wouldn’t have needed to in order to live so long. As for moving around in public, I’m sure that he could fit in with the Kandra and the Koloss with out issues. The Koloss might even regard him with some kind of religious significance. There are also the people that still follow the Steel Ministry’s religion and see him as their version of Kelsier. He would still make an interesting world hopper though so here’s hoping we get to see Space Marsh.
  12. I think the Desolation will be defeated and Odium will retreat. The back half could have a new enemy or the same one from a new angle.
  13. Bela is a Horsespren, you can’t kill her. She was Invested by the Rand Shard when they left the Two Rivers and completed her transformation on the journey through the Cognitive realm with Egwene.
  14. I’d love to see the Wit and Jasnah walk was well. Firstly because I’m sure Hoid layed on the snark in a major way. Secondly because it’s probably full of some of those “juicy truths” that he promised to his Cryptic. I actually think this is part of why we have so few Jasnah PoVs, she’s to Cosmere aware at this point and knows to much about past events on Roshar.
  15. It’s a theory of mine that both Honor and Cultivation realized the problem with beings like them in the Cosmere. IMO they set events in motion to leave behind their power without pinning it to a person. They probably planned for the same thing to happen to Odium but he will probably wiggle out of it and escape Roshar (I think he’s the final boss of the Cosmere). Only time will tell if I’m right, but it seems like a major theme in the Cosmere is the breaking of the Shards direct influence in events. Basically I think that the end game is about turning them into forces rather than individuals.
  16. I’m sure book four will answer a lot of these questions (and pose new ones). Personally I think the only new power is that Dalinar has limited access to Honor through the Stormfather. IMO Honor planned his death and left his power with the Stormfather so that the Bondsmiths could access it in a limited fashion. Mistborn spoilers
  17. TLR so Kelsier can have round 2 as a Fullborn.
  18. Couldn't agree more. If I want to read about sex I have the whole Internet at my fingertips. I read books to get my nerd on.
  19. I was going to Grindelwald TLR.. for the greater good just feels like him.
  20. Syl only knows what Kaladin can do after he learns that he can do it. Her answer to a lot of his questions early on were to the effect of "maybe?" and "probably?". The Spren seem to depend on their Radiants to help them "remember" things that they already know. As for the windspren that gathered around him, there is a theory out there that the Radiant's plate is made of the lesser spren of their order. Windspren for Windrunners, Creationspren for Lightweavers and Gloryspren for Bondsmiths just to name a few possibilities. Another thing to think about. I've seen a few WoBs out there were Brandon refers to the Windrunner surges as gravity and pressure rather than gravity and adhesion. This lends its self to the idea that Kal created a high or low pressure area to protect everyone (I vote high pressure btw).
  21. Good call on Dox being a goblin, I think Elend would agree. As for TenSoon, if only there was someone at the school that turned into a dog.. hmmm. Harry Potter Spoilers I guess.
  22. From his point of veiw it was right. This is actually what drew Nale to him. Szeth would not violate his beliefs even if it destroyed him. His discovery that the Shamanate was wrong and that the Radiants had in fact returned shattered his belief and freed him from his oath.
  23. If every character is a redemption story then there’s no rollercoaster, it becomes predictable and expected. I think Moash will have many chances to choose the right path down the road and will always choose the wrong one instead. Szeth was never the bad guy. He was simply obeying the law. The bad guys are the ones that made those laws and the ones who held his stone. We simply didn’t know that as the reader (though there are many clues). There’s no room for that in Moash’s story because we already have all the background info and his choices and actions are clearly his own. I suspect that Moash started as a plot device to make Kaladin stumble in his progression and separate him from Dalinar when he’s at Narak, thereby facilitating his dramatic return. From there the character probably took on a life of its own as an antagonist. Some antagonists are meant to be hated, just look at Dilaf from Elantris.
  24. Bridge four summons the Bifrost. Rosharan world hopping is born.
