  1. It is most likely that they soulcast glass around the spheres to get something perfectly round. That seems like a very Rosharian thing to do. And by they, I mean people who make the currency on Roshar.
  2. They are probably getting some from photosynthesis and the rest from the ambient investure present in the system.
  3. I think that a full kandra child would work. Sazed turned the Koloss into a breeding race, why not the Kandra? A Kandra child may not have the same abilities as an original because they lack the blessings, but I think that they would have the shape shifting abilities and retain sentience. What I do not want to see is a half Wayne, half Melaan child (Shudder), that would be frightening.
  4. Kaladin is extremely loyal, both too his men and to the Kohlin family. That is one thing that prevents him from taking over. Secondly, his personality is all wrong, Kaladin is a servant leader, not a dictator. He leads by serving his men and the people around him, which is also one of the reasons that he is having a hard time swearing the fourth oath. As for Jasnah and Kaladin getting together, it would be a nice flip of the typical Boy is at least five years older than girl Branderson trope. If not for love, then to get a large order under her "command", Jasnah has a fair chance of marrying Kaladin.
  5. The SoulMakers Spren: Design Spren, these spren bond to engineers, makers, and people who make functional objects or design functional objects. Commonly bond to people who make fabrials. Surges: Gravitation and Transformation. Resonance: Collective Knowledge and Experience, a SoulMaker can, after the third oath and with some effort, access the knowledge and experience of other Soulmakers. Sort of like a mental, shared coppermind. If one SoulMaker knows how to use a spear, then all of them do. Attributes: Planning and Shielding This Order is largely made up of people who tinker with things. A SoulMaker can pull their designs out of thin air with great precision and are know for locking them selves away for weeks at a time to bring to life an idea they had. Those who are less inclined to build things help the others by stretching the limits of soulcasting. While most of the order avoids open combat, the ones that are drawn to it are some of the most feared warriors in the Cosmere. Their devices of destruction are known for being overkill in many cases, and have left some smaller moons in pieces. However, their peaceful inventions range from simple painrials to Fabrials that replace organs or that can reconstruct cities in a matter of days. The Order's greatest achievement is the creation and use of the shard ships that fill the skys and space lanes of the Cosmere. An aluminum shell with many steel plates for adjusting the lashings centered around a giant Sapphire Core housing dozens of wind spren. Plates that house gravitation spren and a logic spren driven computer system. Perfect gemstone batteries and a scadrian invention that harvests investure and converts it into stormlight. These ships where made possible by the invention of artificial gems of great size and perfection. The SoulMakers typically take on between one and five squires, the ones that bond spren advance beyond that, if they do not bond a spren, they will typically leave the order because of weirdness of it. You are still a squire until you swear the third oath. SoulMakers are very territorial and many meeting have at least one or more intellectual property right arbitration. They protect their own beyond that of other orders, this is part because of the mental connection that allows them to know if another member is in danger. Ideals: First: Life before Death, Strength before Weakness, Journey before Destination Second: I will think before I act Third: I will listen to those around me and consider their advice Fourth: I understand that Perfection, in life or design, is beyond my abilities Fifth: I will seek to help society and not be blinded by pride or selfish gain.
  6. Just because you can use the Transportation Surge to go on a date with your significant other does not mean you should use the Transportation Surge to go on a date with your significant other. Please refrain from wasting stormlight in such a fashion, if you want to be alone, find a balcony or wait for one of the scheduled Oathgate activations.
  7. Correct me if I am wrong, but couldn't Kelsier burn the spikes to graft them permanently into his spiritweb. That might allow him to do more stuff and not have the threat of spike removal.
  8. Soulcasters are not to be used in pranks. Soulcasting the training grounds into chouta mix was funny but took a week to clean up. Also, just because you can use division/soulcasting/adhesion to cause a persons clothes to disappear/turn to metal/stick to their chair does not mean that you should. Additional note: all chairs are now going to be made from aluminum.
  9. There is something very weird going on with most of the Neo-Radiants. Dalinar: creating perpendicularities, visions, and charging Kaladin with stormlight. Shallan: Being able to enter the cognitive realm with out transportation. Lift: eating things to get stormlight. Renarian: Corrupted spren that can still use surges. I think that the Radiants may be in the process of changing in to a more powerful form of their orders.
  10. The reason that worldhoppers know more is their age, as said above, and that they see the connections between the magic systems. It is sort of like a PhD chemist discussing vinegar and baking soda with a five year old. The five year old may know how to get it react, but the chemist knows why, how and the details of the system because he has back ground knowledge, time and experience.
  11. Could Fain-Life be an extragalactic invasion or infection?
  12. Dalinar/Adolin/Kohlin family: This is War by Thirty Seconds to Mars.
  13. I think King T is a plant for Cultivation. She has some of the best future sight in the Cosmere and potentially has similar power levels as Odium. Also, it would not surprise me if she in direct command of King T's high and low days.
  14. The general could be a cousin of Lopen.
  15. what about combining shard plate. The current best guesses are that it is a bunch of lesser spren, so why couldn't it combine to make other stuff?
  16. I want to see a Bridge Four MegaZord or Jager fighting a thunderclast. Kaladin as the Head, Rock as the body and Lopen as either the fist or worse: the hips. Dance battle time!
  17. Era 2 Scadrial. Asolutely yesNo questions asked. I could probably hack the magic system there pretty quickly given that I am a metallurgy student and I have a pretty good understanding of the Cosmere. Roshar. Ack, NO! Giant killer lobsters, evil spirit things that can possess an entire species. The personal stomping ground of the Shard of Hate. Home to one of the most war-like races in the known universe. Crazed demi-gods who go around killing people. Did I mention that the planet is currently being led by a older man with serious depression and substance abuse issues, a young man who can fly, and a 30-something who can turn me to stone. Also, the weekly superstorms and giant rock monsters are a huge downside. Nalthis. No, I could be killed by my clothing, nuf said. Taldain. No, Sand and more sand. Sel. Too high of gravity. Threnody. Cognitive Zombies. First of the Sun. Its like Australia or Texas, only bigger things that can kill you and who hunt you with their brain. Scadrial it is! I will be eating my instant noodles and hunting down the last of the mistwraiths so that I can get more Kandra, my own shapeshifting army.
  18. Please stop bugging the Nightwatcher for boons, it is extremely irritating to her Bondsmith. Yes, Edgedancers, that means you!
  19. I do not see Adolin as a lacky of Odium. He is basically a perfect Edgedancer, refined, caring, and focused on details as opposed to big picture things.
  20. The Book of Love by Peter Gabriel for Dalinar and Navani or Susebron and Siri
  21. Cultivation is playing the long game, I would not be surprised if she has been manipulating Roshar to her own ends since the Splintering of Honor. Not to mention that she may be using Unmade and the Nightwatcher to avoid leaving her fingerprints all over the area.
  22. Memo to all Stonewardens, please, please, please stop blocking the hallways, the Releasers are getting tire of cleaning up your messes.
  23. It might be some sort of weapon against the fused, maybe a silver/aluminum alloy that can bind them?
  24. You Cannot Have My Pain. - Dalinar Kohlin.
