  1. All I can see now is Tron Legacy with Daft Punk in the background.
  2. What creature in DnD is it?
  3. I think that it will be Shallan. Sanderson has set her up as a person who does not take responsibility for her actions and as time goes on, cares less and less about people. Also. it would be a perfect way for Odium to strike at the core of the new radiants.
  4. Brandon has said that Fabrials are a type of magic. Maybe, they are like hemalurgy and can access that shards power anywhere in the cosmere. They just modify the power of the resident shard and use that to power the device that is tied to Ingenuity. That would explain the scadrian medallions, the Aviar detectors, Rosharian spren fabrials, and possible Nazh's gun.
  5. Ok, we have seen that nothing short of a shard can shatter or "kill" another shard. Why would something that is more powerful than a Shard let its self be shattered by a bunch of lesser creatures?
  6. I think surgebinding is more versatile than @Rhapsody is aware of. I base this one the fact that the surges are presently controlled mainly a bond to a spren that limit what the user can do based on the Oaths they swear and the type of spren. If a person was able to remove the limiting spren and/or Oaths from the equation and just have access to the surges, I think surgebinding would quickly become more powerful and versatile. The spren are there as basically an ethics board for the use of surgebinding.
  7. I think this is a good guess, but Shardplate made of lesser spren seems more likely. I say this mainly because the lesser spren have less of a hold on the physical realm and thus could be forced back into the cognitive easier than a shardblade. Also, the fact that in their normal form, both shardplate and shardblades change shape to fit their Radiant seems to indicate that they have a mind that bonds to the radiant in question. That is why I think it is made of lesser spren.
  8. Wayne is human, for now. But I would not put it past Harmony to use him as a template for a future Kandra race. The Kandra are experiencing negative population growth to an already small group. If the rate of Kandra death continues at its current pace, then Harmony is going to need some new minions. He can't always rely on a human like Wax to do all of his dirty work. He will eventually need more shapeshifting amoeba people to help deal with the wider Cosmere. They are nearly unkillable except for a few instances, they live basically forever, and can change their shape to fit the missions. Not to mention the possiblity of giving them Allomantic or Feruchemical abilities. As for Wayne, he is cracked enough that a few tweaks to his spirit web and he would make a great Kandra and what ever destructionhe would cause would be off set by the preservation of his mortal life. And yes, we are all crazy here. We spend hours each week reading interviews and debating complex fictional universes, all while trying to apply various theories to them.
  9. So this started out as a thought experiment and I wanted to get input on it from the Shard. It is only a matter of time (in my opinion) before we see a coinshot or mistborn running around with a shardblade. If my theory is correct, then scadrian shardblades will be keyed to one of the 16 allomantic metals. What would each metal's blades look like? would they act like the Bands of Mourning and grant the powers of that metal? Or would they do something else? Please give me you input.
  10. Well, there is that little conversation between Frost and Hoid. It is possible that this connects to that and that Shallan either reminds Hoid of his former lover or possibly child. The lightweaving and compulsive lying may have something to do with it. In conclusion, yes, that is a definite possibility.
  11. Do we know what Earth language family North Scadrian and Terris is in?
  12. I am sure there is a way to replicate the sleepless FTL communications effect with Connection.
  13. I was thinking, would it be possible for a nicrosil metalmind be keyed to an allomantic ability or a certain surge and then just be refilled with investure after it runs out? Would it have to be filled by a coinshot or a rioter in order to use that ability? or could it be keyed to that ability and then just be refilled by a nicrosil ferring?

    Quick Question

I think that given that Steel/Iron work outside of normal physics, it might be possible someone to push from another part of their body if their perspective changed on the things they where pushing on. We can see that the way you view the world around you in the Cosmere has a huge amount to do with how you can effect it.
  15. For things like emotional allomancy, have you thought of using a mechanic that is more like a force field that you can narrow to one person or leave on for a large group of people?
  16. Regarding the destruction of shardplate, it could be that the damage to the plate forces the lesser spren back into the cognitive realm and stormlight or a similar form of investure is needed to pull them back into the Shardplate to fix it. That would explain why you can regrow a full set of armor from something like a shinguard or a gauntlet. By feeding the piece stormlight, it attracts the rest of the spren that form the armor because the stormlight supplying the energy to pull them into the physical realm.
  17. This is amazing, the amount of work you put into this is incredible. Is there any way you could let some of the shard demo this with out breaking copyright laws? Also, how do you think that emotional allomancy would work in a video game? I am not much of a gamer or a programmer, but I am excited to hear what your plans are. Thank you for your great contribution to the Shard.
  18. You do have a point, but I am talking about the sudden stops and the high accelerations caused by gravitation surge. What if the mother decided to pull a stunt like Kaladin and Sezth at the Battle of Narak? That cannot be healthy. I think that the extra investure might make the child savant like because of their exposure over the nine monthish period of pregnancy.
  19. I am currently reading a few books on medicine and it keeps bringing up the effect of the environment on unborn children. That got me thinking, would the stormlight in a radiant effect an unborn child they were pregnant with? Would it make the child different in some way? Would it be easier for the child to bond spren? My theory is that the child's sDNA would be altered in some way and they might be able to bond spren easier or have abilities similar to a horneater. It might also give them abilities similar to Lift or a first or second Oath radiant because they were born heavily invested. Also, if a pregnant woman said an Oath, would that oath and strengthening of the nahel bond extend to the child. I think that it would have to have some sort of protective effect on the child. I am saying this based mainly on the physical effects of some of the surges. What if you have a pregnant Windrunner? I would think that flight (or if you prefer: Upwards falling) might have a detrimental effect on the child. Hitting 2 or more G's of acceleration is going to have a very bad effect on a child who cannot use stormlight and who does not have the associated durability. I'd like to hear all your thoughts on the issue.
  20. All I am saying is that they have some similar points, the Oaths have nothing to do with Christianity or any other religion. They seem, at least to me, to share some similar points of view on a few things.
  21. I agree, especially with Thank you for your great input, this is the sort of comments that I wanted to show up.
  22. So I have been thinking about this for a while and I want to know what people think. Warning, I will be diving in to the Christian Faith a bit and I do not mean to cause any hard feelings. I also want to know what other people have to say because I think that Sanderson does a really good job on his religions and I want to see the parallels to Earth religions. I have been comparing some of the stuff the New Testament says and the Oaths of the Knights Radiant. They do seem to have some correlation, specifically the Bondsmiths. Here we go: First Ideal: Life before Death, Strength before Weakness, Journey before Destination. Correlation: see the Immortal Words page on the Coppermind Wiki but I will break it down. Life before Death: in my family, we are taught that dying for Christ is easy, but living for Christ is hard, I think that this is reflected in the explanation of this part of the Oath. Dying/killing should never be the first option. Strength before Weakness: Servant Leadership, we see this in Kaladin in the first book and is a theme through out the NT. Journey before Destination: Your faith should effect how you live your life, the walk is just as important as the end goal. Bondsmiths: I will take responsibility for what I have done. If I must fall, I will rise each time a better man: That really resonates with the idea in the Christian faith that we should keep growing and expanding our faith and that there will be set backs. If we ignore our set backs and sin, they will keep us from The LORD and growth in our faith. Only by acknowledging what we have done can we really change for the better. Now I know this will be controversial, but I do not mean it to be so. I want to know if other people have seen similar correlations between their faiths and philosophies when reading Sanderson's works. Thanks.
  23. It would be hiding it in plain sight, plus there is an Oathgate in Aimia, probably in their version of a dawncity.
  24. The dawncities could be the dawnshards. We know that the dawnshards are extremely powerful weapons and that they have been lost. Also we have the shattered plains which form a symmetrical pattern around one of the former dawncities. What might have happened is that the dawnshard in/under Stormseat activated and that is what created the shattered plains. Also, that would explain why the Fused started to rip apart Kohlinar and tear up the walls and ground, they want to get their hands on the dawnshard under the city. It might also explain some of the weird rock strata that are found in the dawncities, the strata being a byproduct of the investure of the dawnshard and perhaps their impact on the planet. When the Parsh people or the humans found the impact sites, they built their cities around it as either a religious monument or as a way to prevent the weapons from being used again.
