  1. I'm surprised that this has not yet been pointed out. In the North American Hardback Edition, on page 98 it reads "I should never have ripped up the map, Kaladin though." Shouldn't this be thought?
  2. So this latest episode of Mandalorian gave me the same vibes that I did when watching the Clone Wars Season 2 Episode "Brain Invaders" when I was like 8 or 9. Those vibes are: "I'm terrified right now. What the heck is that. Ah that's gross. I think I just developed a new fear"
  3. People of the Shard, I need your help. How would you say that Samwise Gamgee resonated with you?

You are just a bit late Tesh, but thank you for contributing anyway^_^

    3. King Aragorn of Gondor

      King Aragorn of Gondor

this might be late too, but LOTR,

Sam sticks with Frodo no matter what,

I really relate with him not giving up on people,

He's the most pure and honest person in the LOTR trilogy.

Not only does he conquer all the hardships and literal orc armies wanting to kill them, but he's able to live a normal life after.

He also keeps his promises.  The one to Gandalf in particular.

Sam didn't really want adventure or a quest, he wanted to live a quiet life but dispite his wants, he sticks by his friend, through the literal WORST conditions.

      Sam just doesn't give up.

It’s probably too late, but I’ll go ahead and chip in as well.

Like my fellow shard era have said, Samwise Gamgee is the just the most pure, most trustworthy character in LotR. Frodo Baggins literally would not have been able to carry and destroy the ring if Sam hadn’t been there. I understand that Frodo was experiencing some mental strain from carrying the ring, but Sam did twice as much to ensure they completed their quest, and all without complaining. He didn’t even care if he was recognized for all he did. Sam is humble, charitable, and brave. This is why he’s the best.

  4. Ene, you blessed soul, you. Thanks for making my day a little brighter.
  5. Haven't seen much of AoT, but I think Revo and Linked Horizon's banging music would make a great soundtrack for the eventual SA show
  6. I can echo what's been said before here. Chaos, you have made this one of the best places on the internet, and I imagine it's no small task keeping everything on this site running smoothly. So Thank You So Much, Chaos, for everything you do, both on this site and for Shardcast.
  7. Me: Minding my own business, about to get out of bed after chilling with my laptop

    My Brain: Hey, Wyn?

    Me: What is it?

My Brain: You know those things, like the ability to walk, and hold things without dropping them?

    Me: Yeah, what about them?

My Brain: So, in like a minute, I'mma forget how to do that. 'Kay?

    Me: WAIT NO

My Brain *as I nearly trip over my laptop cable, and accidentally fling my phone from my hands*: Too late!

      Lunamor

I feel you, once I was holding my phone and my brain just decided to throw it as hard as it could across the room. Luckily I have a really thick case :P

 you made my day Wyndlerunner.

Also, brain problems are annoying; for example, this is an analogy I came up with some time back. Your brain is always making connections, like really fast and all the time. Imagine there’s this guy in your brain, zooming around and connecting wires all over the place. He works quickly, like a track runner going back and forth, pulling wires everywhere. I picture the worker in my brain as an overweight dude with asthma. He’s certainly trying his darned hardest, huffing and puffing all over the place. But he can never quite get there fast enough :P.

  8. Rout maps be like
  9. So this is what Dalinar needs to do to unite them!
  10. *single tear of indescribable happiness* This, this is beautiful.
  11. I'm not really bothered by the fake Scottish accent, because, techinically it isn't a Scottish accent. There is no Scotland in Xadia, so technically it's more of a Moonshadow accent than anything else. Same way an Alethi accent probably might sound similar to a real world accent, but if it's off, it doesn't actually matter, because it's not really that accent- it's an Alethi accent. But yeah, that's just me rambling
  12. So my younger brother came up with this one today: "Here is something to believe in' should be Sazed's catchphrase"
  13. Good job! I'm not much of an endurance guy, so the Pantheons were a lot harder for me than going through individual bosses in the Hall of Gods (my current proudest achievement is Radiant Hornet Protector)
  14. This is a quality meme, I think.
  15. "This is an enclave." James said, preparing his explanation, "It exists to help keep the younger generations of Radiants safe from the Voidbringers. The man in charge is Doc, a Bondsmith like myself. There are only ever 3 of us, so I came here to learn how to use my abilities." He paused for a brief moment to take a sip of his tea, "Although this started out as primarily a place for Radiants to stay, there are a few other types of Invested here at the moment, we've got an Elantrian, and a Twinborn at least, though it's been some time since I saw either of them." James took another long sip of tea, hoping the woman found it to be as good as he did. "Now, what brings a Feruchemist like yourself here? Are you seeking a form of asylum from Voidbringers? Do you have news for Doc?" He asked, hopefully not sounding as interrogative as he had previously.
  16. Tell me, did you ever hear the tragedy of RoW preview chapters the wise? I thought not. It's not a story the patient fans would tell you. The RoW preview chapters were a dark lord of the serialization, so powerful, and so full of lore, he could influence the fandom, to create... Hype. They had such a knowledge of lore that they could even keep theories people cared about, from dying. The preview chapters are a path to much knowledge some consider to be... unnatural.

Holy cow! You’re a much older sanderfan than I realized then, this is the first time that I’ve read preview chapters for any of Sanderson’s books

  17. Someone put this goat in charge of the marketing campaign right now!
  18. That line got you too, did it? Mind if I join you? *Sobs*
  19. Here's one for you @Truthless of Shinovar Seriously though, you're cool man. Since I have made a meme, I shall request a meme. Perfectly balanced, as all things should be
  20. James offered her a pitcher of cream, and a sugar bowl. "I hope you enjoy it", he said, "Only a few of my housemates are much for tea, so I don't often get a chance to bust out the tea set." James sat down opposite from her, and mirrored her prior action, lifting the cup to his face, and taking in the refreshing scent. "As I believe I've already said, I'm James Freeman." He replied to her question, "But more to the point of what you're asking, I'm a Knight Radiant. More specifically a Bondsmith of the 4th Ideal. Pleasure to meet you."
  21. Now we are become Shardcast, the destroyer of rails
  22. James smiled, and let her in. "Of course." He said, responding to her request for tea, "I'll go put a kettle on right now." He walked over to the cupboard, and grabbed a kettle. filling it up with warm water, he set it on the stove. Feruchemy? he thought, contemplatively, I think Jamie had that power- but she had another one as well. Continuing his thinking, he grabbed several mugs, and some mint tea he'd mixed himself upon arriving in the Northwest- after all, nowhere else in the states could match northwestern peppermint. After the tea was prepared, he went back to the front room, where the woman, Wita, was sitting. He offered her a cup of tea, "Would you like any cream or sugar?" he asked, doing his best to make up for his somewhat rude behavior earlier.
  23. There was something decidedly trustworthy about this woman, James decided. Did she say attack? He thought, She must be another invested. He let his defensive stance drop, and the cold glint left his eyes. "Apologies ma'am" He said, with a short bow, "I couldn't just let you in, without knowing who you were, and whether or not I'd be risking my friends' lives by doing so." he explained. He gestured for the woman to come inside. "If you don't mind saying, What kind of investiture do you use?" James asked, now genuinely curious rather than probing.
  24. "I assume you mean the owner of this property" James replied, a cold glint in his eyes. He wasn't about to let people get hurt, and without thinking, his hand moved towards his pocket, fingers brushing on the pen that became that pitch black sword. If this woman was a Voidbringer, or one of their ilk, then everyone here could be in serious danger. "I'll let you in, but only if you first tell me exactly what your relationship to Doc is, and what you intend here." He said, firmly "I'm afraid I can't just invite you in and brew you a cup of tea, if you take my meaning."
  25. Thank you, milady
