  1. Welcome to the Shard, Fire 2: Electric Boogaloo. Joking aside, welcome to one of the best parts of the internet. It was thanks to your brother that I'm on this website in the first place. Glad to have you here
  2. I mean, it all depends. As I've gone on, I actually do use my Leatherbounds as actual books, and passing my old copies of them to my younger brother. I've had my TFE leatherbound for a few years now, and it's taken travel in a box, and actual reading of it fairly well. I think they are definitely worth the money. I cannot speak for The Way of Kings leatherbound, as it's twice the price of previous leatherbound volumes. If you aren't going to use it as a book, I would say they aren't worth it, If you're ok with some slight wear on them and do plan to actively read them, then yes. They are some of the nicest quality books you could have.
  3. James hung his head in shame. He couldn't tell exactly what Shana was feeling, but her look and her words had struck him to the core. Lights, I messed up, didn't I? He thought. Shana's not in a place where she needs someone to criticize her decisions, she needs someone to stand by her. James took a deep breath and walked to stand besides Shana. "All right." he said, "If you gave him your word, I at least, will trust your judgement."
  4. Rhythm of war is done people! *celebration noises*

I will never cease to be amazed at how fast Brandon can write.

  5. Welcome to the Shard my friend! Just to let you know, the mods don't particularly like double posting (posting more than once in a row). Also, that wouldn't happen to be a My Hero Academia reference in your username would it?
  6. Apparently, I am now part of a government of Old men. Whadda'ya know

  7. Woo, those are some spicy takes and a half. Loving this new style of content. I've always enjoyed hearing my friends and family react to reading Brandon for the first time.
  8. James stood up and wiped the dust from his pants, "I don't know Rob, I know he's an enemy and a war criminal essentially, but ransom feels like a step too far in a negative direction. If we're going to let him go, we should do it expecting nothing from the enemy in return. I know it's laughable to think, but if we show them honor, perhaps they will return the favor." Pfft, like heck they would. The Nightwatcher sent to him. @I think I am here. @Sorana @AonEne @xinoehp512
  9. I think you may have gotten the wrong idea about The Bands Of Mourning. The Bands of Mourning isn't a novella, It's the sequel to Shadows of Self, so actually, it is a part of Era 2, and a full blown novel to boot. It and Secret History are lumped together for many reasons, the least spoilery of which is that it was released the same day, and has some relevance to some of the things in Bands of Mourning
  10. Yep, if you read Bands of Mourning between Hero of Ages and Alloy of Law, you're bound to be very confused.
  11. Here's less of a review of FMAB, but more of a character analysis on 3 of the show's most interesting protagonists. I would say, if you haven't watched this show, and want to go in entirely blind, there are some very mild general spoilers (Nothing specific). You have been forewarned.
  12. PSA from Wyn: If you haven't Yet signed up for Brandon Sanderson's newsletter, you should do so today

Well, the one from today includes a very special interlude from Rhythm of War. Also Brandon's 10 favorite video games of all time, if that's something that interests you

  13. James's eyes flickered back and forth between the prisoner and Shana. When I said I thought Shana might do something reckless, I didn't expect this at all. What do I do here? I might have bitten off more than I can chew here He thought in chagrin, yet when he spoke, the words that came out of his mouth were "I see. Well I won't hinder you." Sweet Saints he thought I hope Cass has an idea. @AonEne @xinoehp512
  14. Whoever decided to make medieval covers of modern songs a popular thing on YouTube is literally a saint.

  15. I like your interpretation of Nazh. You did well for a character we don't know particularly much about
  16. Sokka is in fact awesome. I would say, give the show at least the first season. Season 1 is very 'all right', Season 2 is dang good, and season three is like so good it's heavenly.
  17. Well, here's my drawing of James Freeman, my character from the RP, 'The Knights Next Door'20200704_223327.thumb.jpg.e655f3edf0b7797def852618d82f667c.jpgAnd, it's sideways. Well, ain't that lovely

  18. James noticed the smile on her face, and the fact that she was now walking by his side. Well, that's a good sign he noted to himself- self confidence was often the first step in growth, and besides that, it was always a joy when one of his friends smiled, especially since Cass had been having a hard time of late. "I'm worried about Shana." he confided to her, as they approached the garage door. "I don't know if it was the best idea to put her in this situation, alone with the prisoner. Bless her heart, but she can be rash at times, and Voidbringers especially seem to bring it out in her." James opened the garage door, and walked straight into the prisoner's back. He shifted slightly off balance, and fell to the pavement, As he sat up, he noticed Shana near the prisoner's chair. "Excuse me, but what in the 9 levels of heck is going on here?" he asked, to nobody in particular. Well, this just got a lot weirder than I was expecting. @AonEne @Sorana @xinoehp512
  19. Symmetry is important to Vorinism, after all
  20. To each his own I suppose. I liked her quite a bit. And to play devil's advocate in her favor for a moment, Rand does make some fairly rash decisions, and holds a power that everyone assumes (not that this is true past [Event Redacted]) will cause him to go insane, sooner or later. Rand's character is all about changing the status quo, and uprooting it "Break all nations and bonds". Egwene on the other hand, is all about maintaining said status quo, given what a majority of her plotline is even about. It was natural that the two would come into conflict at one point or another, as they hold distinctly opposing ideals. (And they also happen to be the primary character reps for Saidin and Saidar, which is based off of Yin and Yang, funny how that all works isn't it ). I won't say that Egwene wasn't wrong in being so contrary, but honestly, I think someone had to be in that situation.
  21. Well, first of all, love the profile pic. Not sure if it's the most relevant, but I did ask Brandon about the effects of Chromium Savantism being able to Cleanse the spiritwebs of others: Wyndlerunner You've mentioned in the past aluminum savants being able to somewhat heal their spiritweb, healing them of the cracks, sort of healing them of Allomancy. Could a chromium savant do this to other people, kind of like in the Avatar [The Last Airbender] finale where he seals bending? Brandon Sanderson I will say RAFO, but I will say you're theorizing along correct directions. Orem Signing (March 16, 2019) Hope that helps. They are paired metals after all.
  22. Likely when our dear friend Michael Whelan feels satisfied with it. Who knows how his schedule's been affected by COVID?
  23. James began walking towards the garage, humming the tune to one of those obscure songs that had become popular as an internet meme. To any potential onlookers, there wasn't much extraordinary going on, just a young man, humming. What they wouldn't see, nor hear, was the argument that was currently raging within his headspace. She's not to be trusted, James, that's final. The Nightwatcher's usual good natured snark had been replaced by a stern coldness that James was sure had only been before matched by a strict Victorian governess. I know why you dislike her James sent back, But I've never met someone so befitting of this Order before Cass. Surely you could at least make her a squire or something? The Nightwatcher made a noise James could only liken unto a derisive sniff, though he wasn't sure whether the Nightwatcher had a nose to speak of. She is a murderer! An Oathbreaker! You would have me entrust my powers to one such as that? The cold finality of her prior statement was replaced by a burning, stinging, anger. No. Just Listen to me Night, Cass made mistakes, yes. But so have I, and surely so did your previous bondmate. The point is that we have potential to grow. I see that potential in Cass, just like you saw it in me all those months ago. James hoped that his own emotions were conveyed to the Nightwatcher as well as hers were to him, and turned around to look at Cassie. "Hey Cass, you coming or what?" @AonEne
