  1. YKYASW when you get really excited by helping to name a goat after an obscure Warbreaker side character
  2. Ah. Oathbringer was the first one I had to wait for, and It ended up getting delayed a couple of times.
  3. If I'm being honest, the wait for Oathbringer felt a lot worse than this one to me
  4. That feeling when you notice there's a Rhythm of War spoiler board, and you start scrambling thinking there's something you've missed, but there isn't.

  5. Oh my! The plot thickens. (I did an Amazon preorder for day one reading purposes)
  6. I don't know if I've ever told this story, but I once had an oddly prophetic dream involving Oathbringer. A few months before the cover art was revealed, I dreamed I was at a Wal-Mart, in their measly book section, and I saw Oathbringer sitting there, with a cover that was very similar to what the NA cover was (As in it had the same character on the cover, holding a shardblade). Now, fast forward to post Oathbringer's release, I'm leisurely walking around Wal-Mart, and I decide to walk through the book aisle- and there it is, Oathbringer. In a store that has never once, nor at any time since stocked a single Sanderson book. Kinda weird right?
  7. Um, maybe, just hear me out on this: Maybe don't do that. Fafen, after Siri and Vivenna's sister who became a monk, both because it fits the theme, is female, and sounds like a sound a goat would make

Saw this on r/Avatarmemes, and I agreed with this very heavily.

I really enjoyed FE: Echoes myself, but that is too true :P

Oh don't get me wrong, I love Echoes, but Cantors are thouroughly dastards

  10. I mean, I probably don't act like someone who's a socially anxious introvert online, we're all full of surprises
  11. You know the Svordish do have shark fights. Which is one of the most random yet coolest pieces of worldbuilding in all of the Cosmere
  12. Well, this year marks only my second year on the Shard, but I feel as though I now know so many people, and have had so many wonderful experiences that I am so grateful to all of you for. This is really the only fan community that I'm in that I'm an active participant in, but I wouldn't have it any other way. 1. My favorite thread that I've participated in has got to be The Knights Next Door. So many re-readable moments, and fond memories, even the ones that are only fond with hindsight (remember when it took us like 3 weeks to RP a shopping trip? That was an experience.) I've thoroughly enjoyed writing James, and working with all the rest of the talented writers on that RP, and I'm sure James would say the same in regards to their characters . 2. There are so many conversations where I've died laughing it's honestly hard to count. I think specifically, The Cosmere Roast Battle Thread has got some of the funniest stuff on the Shard. There was also that one time that someone took a comment that I made and turned it into a meme. That was great. 3. Honestly, every time I interact with @AonEne, I leave the conversation feeling much better than when I started. She's always there trying to be a force for good, and I really appreciate that about her. 4. Once again, I think the entire dream battle sequence in TKND is some of my best writing there. It's about the time James really blossomed as a character, and I could finally start taking him down the path I was beginning to see for him. 5.Honestly, this is gonna sound odd, but my favorite moment of my own making on the Shard, was the time they finally got to my WTCC entry, and it was a lot of fun watching the Shardcast where they read it out. 6. Honestly, there is very little time on the Shard I wouldn't want to relive, but I don't think it's best to dwell, on that. I prefer to think about how we're still moving forward, continuing on, and growing still.

Dang! this is freaking awesome all around. Your grandma is quite the artist
  14. I mean, I think the point is that the 'Kindle Fire' is the actual name of the device...
  15. I know that's the actual line, I wasn't intending to quote it in it's full original form.
  16. I have never before felt so personally attacked by something I 100% agree with
  17. Well I would recommend you read them, I think they're quite good, but this kinda happens to be a forum mostly dedicated to talking about Sanderson's books... This one thread is about the only place on this site where Hollow Knight is much of a topic of discussion. If you're looking to find more of a Hollow Knight-centric discussion place, about the only place I can think to refer you to is the Hollow Knight subreddit. Apologies if we've caused any confusion
  18. So, apologies for being slightly off-topic here, but have you read much of Brandon Sanderson's works @Knight in Silknsong!!!!?
  19. IT'S VERY IMPORTANT FOR THE RITUAL!
  20. Hey all, posted a new entry on my blog, it would mean a lot to me if you'd consider giving it a read.

      Wow, I just found that...

That's a whole other side of the Shard i hardly knew existed..

Thank you for opening my eyes. *bows*

And I'll be sure to check it out!

Yeah, from what I've found, it barely sees any use these days, so I'd wager most people go their whole tenure here never having heard of it nowadays.

  21. Hey all you good folks, I want to provide a brief introduction to what I hope will be a somewhat consistent series here on this blog. Introducing "Wyn talks Anime", a place for me to write about my favorite anime, or review ones that I'm currently watching, hopefully with a little bit of me talking storytelling in general. So today we've got my spoiler-free thoughts on My Hero Academia season 1, alongside my musings on what makes an excellent first season of a show. Spoilers for length
  22. Solid logic methinks
  23. Why do I feel like you're the person that Ene's talking about?
  24. Nope, it's just pleasure reading in general. Unless he deems the story either important, or not time consuming. So he has read Emperor's Soul, but nothing else.
