Actually when you tap a feruchemical Power it does provide protection from the power. That’s why Wax can make himself heavy then crash through a floor and barely have a scratch . If you compounding brass would let you let you release the heat but not burn yourself . You could probably grab a gun and melt it . You could charge a allomantic grenade and throw it to start fires or burn someone. Weild two metal bars that you could heat until they are Red hot . And possibly fill it to walk through fires . And possibly use it to power an Allomantic ship to FtL speed . I believe I saw that somewhere in a WOB

So Zinc can potentially be used in combat . I’m not sure if you ever seen inhumans. There is one name Karnak . He is an Olympic level martial artist . His Power is he can calculate combat situations in a split second , determine which one is viable , which will fail , and where the persons weakness is . He is deadly effective

No one knows , but I would bet it would have cloaking powers that allowed you to avoid detection. Regenerative Type magic that allowed you to survive is another good tool . And finally precognitive or remote viewing is another aspect I would think would be in the aspects of a shard of wisdom. Obfuscate, Regenerate , and Fortune ( foretelling ) would be useful powers to a Shard that just wants to Survive. I think it’s really Od that no one attacks Rlain in a large battle . Especially now he is warform . I know he has bridge 4 colors on and has a tattoo on his carapace helmet , but still in a battle I could see soldiers from another highlord attacking Rlain by mistake . While I don’t think this is the last Singer Nahel bond . It may be lightspren are the only type that can bond with Singers because of the fact they hum to the Rythems or the anatomy of Singers .

Well I think Dalinar will combine the two shards left and the remnants of Honor together to form Unity . He was Forged by Odium ( Thrill) Tempered by Cultivation ( Boon /curse ) and Bound by Honor ( Bondsmith . When he ascends it will be by Unifying the 3 . I know many Cultivation fans will get mad at me for saying it but I think that’s what will happen . Interesting theory though.

Your telling me that you don’t think it’s odd that in 1000 of years no singer has ever formed a Nahel. Bond ? Venli said she had never heard of her people doing it before ? Well Venli did draw in stormlight , right before she said the first ideal . What I was proposing was that Singers had to be in a form to draw in stormlight . I was wrong about Rlain was saying . We know from Rlain that Singers have to be in the proper form to draw in stormlight . So they would need that form first . Then once in a form that can utilize stormlight . Then they have to try and form a Nahel bond . The singers forgot all thier forms but 5 , 6 if you count stormform. So maybe that’s what happened with Venli . A Regal is form of power capable of Using voidlight . Once she was in that form and attracted Timbr, she then realized she could . As invocation said . Problem with that theory is Venli wasn’t a parshmen , they are the ones that were healed and connection restored . Venli was a Listener, they took dullforn to escape BAM influence so they were never trapped in slaveforn.

One of things that has always bothered me Is why none of the Singers had ever bonded a non void spren before . Venli is the first to ever do so . Even she thought it was not possible . So on a reread of WoR I found the Song of Spren . The song seems to contradict itself . At first it says that Singers can’t provide what men can provide . Comparing their bond to broth and humans bond as meat . Making me believe that the spren won’t gain much intelligence . Later it says this was promised in days passed. So is a Nahel bond possible or not ? I know Venli has one . But is it that Venli spren is the only type that can do it , and is that why it’s never worked before ? I’m sure the answer is in this song . So can some of you tell me what you think it means

Lopen is written that way for a reason. He is not in love with Kaladin he is just a always happy , optimistic person . If you read Elantris he is the exact opposite of Raodon sidekick in that book. That guy always called Raodon by a nickname , and was always negative , pessimistic , and hopeless . If you reverse him you get Lopen . I hope Navani is the one to bond the Sibling . With here fascination with Fabrials she makes the perfect choice. Renarin told Navani she was looking at Urithiru wrong , it wasn’t several fabrials put together but one giant Fabrial and that it was alive . So Navani is my First choice . Rock is my back up candidate. It just seems to fit Rock and the Stone Spren , the way he reveres Spren as gods , his refusal to fight . Who do you guys think will bond the Sibling ?

@Quantus well my apologies . I read it like you was saying the WoB was about that Unmade did not voidbing. Instead you meant the WoB was about the Unmade , the WoB was not about Voidbinding . Read what you wrote again slowly and you will see it can be interpreted both ways .

I was thinkng if making a post about what it would take to wake up Urithiru. So while. I’m not going to disagree with you . My theory is that the Sibling is the Spren of Stone. I get my Theory from the Elle Estelle . The part where it said “ there betrayal extended to our Gods , Gods of Wind ( Stormfather ) Spren ( Nightwatcher) and Stone ( Great Stone Spren) . Szeth says Urithiru is the only Stone on Roshar that is not unholy to walk upon. I’m Guessing Urithiru is Soulcast . I to wonder what it will take to wake up Urithiru . Here are my theories . Tell me what u think? 1. Dalinar would have to open up the perpindicularity and supercharge the sphere column and power the city up . This seems too easy tho . Urithiru was failing before the knights abandoned it 2. Another Bondsmith ( presumably the one who Bonds the Sibling would need to wake him up . Maybe by healing the shattered plains. This is my strongest theory or the one I like . I think the shattering of the plains is what caused him to slumber in the first place . In a way this theory kinda parallels yours . As the Stone spren is the heart of Urithiru in my guess

Well u made me curious when u said there was a WoB saying unmade did not voidbind. I looked and I found this ! I try to. Form an opinion first . Post it to see if anyone had same idea . And look for a WoB to confirm.

I too think that the Fused and Radiants both surgebind. The Radiants have access to two surges . The Fused have access to one . They are nine types of Fused , so their must be one Surge the Fused cannot access . I’m go out on a limb and guess that it’s progression. Or the ability to heal anyone else .... I think voidbinding is what the different unmade do . There powers don’t fit into any surge we have seen . It’s totally. Different . The Thrill Riots people , to lack a better term . The Night Mother mimics murders and creates midnight essences. One currupts spren , One creates the death rattles . I know Renarin is supposed to be voidbing in a fashion because he sees the future . But I think this is a result of his spren being corrupted by The Unmade that was voidbinding, thus he has a form of limited precognition . This is just my theory , we all will have to Rafo who is tight .

You touched on every point I was thinking in my mind . If two Different shards could create investiture swords that have similar effects . Theoretically a similar weapon should be able to be created by each shards investiture; albeit they operate on similar but not the same principals.

So we have seen shardblade on two worlds thus far . Roshar and Nalthis. Has anyone considered it may be possible on every world in the Cosmere , and Others just haven’t figured out how ? I think Sel would probably be a good candidate . Possibly Skadrial as well , i just think the magic system on Skadrial is so broken there is little you can’t do if you only knew they right metals . Sel has Seons which are really close to spren . And they have a dark version we haven’t seen yet . Seems you can create some interesting things on Sel , if you can make Seons then shardblades should be possible. Can anyone think of another world they could make shardblades.

Here is the problem I failed to make clear , let’s say we go that route , and they make 4,000 blocks of Fused what would you do with them ? Let’s say you build a castle . 1000 years later , a army of nihilist parshmen or some cult comes along and decides to break them open. There Cognitive shadows would be free once again . Don’t get me wrong I like the idea . Anything creative I like . I just see the flaw . It comes from watching too many Dracula movies . Dracula is laying there with a stake thru his heart , along comes this idiot that wants to see the Dark Lord rise and removes the stake . Almost every time he is the first to die as Dracula needs blood to fully revive . See what I mean now . The Fused can’t break out but somebody else can .

Thing is not every soulcaster can soulcast Metal . Some only soulcast smoke , or blood . Now if your talking about a Radiant soulcasting it . I suppose Jasnah might have the scholarly knowledge and raw will to do it . I just don’t see it as an effective option . Besides Shallan , I don’t even think any Radiant knows about alluminum . Shallan knows it blocks soanreads but she might not make the leap to figure this out. But let’s say for argument sake they soulcast stone cages and coated it with aluminum or better yet wooden beams covered with aluminum and then encased in stone . You could trap them inside , if they killed themselves they would probably slip free . The cage would have to be solid or like calderis said. Somehow get them in a gemheart and coat that with aluminum. And hope no crazy parshmen doesn’t free them 1000 years later. So they have to be permenatky killed , like Nightblood style for the threat never to return!

That’s a good idea except for one thing . Aluminum is allomanticly inert . It’s Also anti investiture. In other words you soulcast aluminum . Now you could build some aluminum cages but I don’t think aluminum is native to Roshar . It’s rare , the only source is the meteors that fall from the sky !
