During the six year war of the shattered plains the parshendi and Alethi fought to the death for gemhearts . Everyone , myself included just assumes they had soulcasters. “The gemheart is ours. We will continue to eat.” “That is well,” Venli said. “And your human?” Excerpt From Words of Radiance Brandon Sanderson https://books.apple.com/us/book/words-of-radiance/id717847678 This material may be protected by copyright. this was never confirmed on screen. The more i thought about it , the more I began to wonder was this true . The parshendi lived for a long time in dullform could they utilize a soulcaster in that form? Fabrials are a human invention and it takes skill and deteriates the body of the human using it . Everything we have seen about the Dawnsingers suggest thier bodies were made to survive on Roshar . They can Survive highstorms to transform. If in the right form they can jump chasms. They are more connected to the natural way the planets ecosystems works. They leave thier dead alone so there corpses can fertilize the soil because they possess gemhearts and we know Stormlight causes plants to grow . A body left out in a highstorm will be infused with stormlight , the body retains the stormlight , gets covered by crem and boom plants grow. All seems natural . So why do they need a Gemheart ? I think they have a natural way to soulcast . Perhaps thier body acts as a fabrial , allowing them to change something into food . The Fabrials we have seen are limited to one essence . Some can change stuff into gas , others into stone , some into grain . So if the parshendi have soulcasters then they must have several to satisfy the needs of an army . And several different kinds of soulcasters. Doesn’t it seem that they have a better way of doing it . One that is not limited to just one essence . If I am wrong and they do have soulcasters . Does it effect them like humans? Does it cause thier body to change into vines or gas like we have seen . If it does can they repair the damage by changing forms . It’s a lot of unanswered questions , all of which make me think they utilize the gemhearts differently than we do . If they do have soulcasters why have they never attacked and tried to steal any more soulcasters to replace ones that have been damaged?

“The Rider of Storms was a traitor, yes—but you could not have a traitor who had not originally been a friend. These storms belonged to her people. The listeners were of the storms.” Excerpt From Words of Radiance Brandon Sanderson https://books.apple.com/us/book/words-of-radiance/id717847678 This material may be protected by copyright. you stopped your quote prematurely , there is more secrets in that chapter I’d like you to consider . I like how your mind works . You back up your arguments with logic that I can relate to . On this subject we will have to agree to disagree. The Rider of storms is very important to the Listeners . However , the Listeners are not the Singers . Strong disagreement , The Rider of the Storms has been around before Honor and Cultivation came . And the Nightwatcher is literally called the “ Old magic” I believe both of those existed pre Shard investment . The Dawnsingers considered them Gods . The Fused did not exist pre Odium as far as I can tell . Now if the Dawnsingers had some way of talking to thier ancestors before Odium we haven’t seen it . During Oathbringer we know the singers have discovered all there common forms , they have access to dozens of forms . Artform and scholarform mentioned . But dozens more alluded too. “The singers wore mostly workform or nimbleform, though a few—like the femalen who had brought the water—wore scholarform, with long hairstrands and angular features. She hummed to Fury. Her people had spent generations” Excerpt From Oathbringer Brandon Sanderson https://books.apple.com/us/book/oathbringer/id1198279804 This material may be protected by copyright. these forms predate Odium so why did the Singers loose access to these forms ? The Listeners tried to discover them and were unable to on thier own . Something was missing . So while I don’t know if the Everstorm can be used like a highstorn I think it can Ok on this I agree in part but I do some additional insight . Before meeting Gavilar the Listeners were new to the area . They left Dark home . I’m not sure how long they were living there probably the whole 2000 years . They have been out of dullforn for about 5 generations . So I’m guessing 150 to 200 years . Long enough to discover nimbleform war and workform . They had only dullforn and mateform . So perhaps this is why they never left Darkhome . I’m really wondering if this is where the Aimians protect . I know it’s across the sea . Near the old Natanaten anyways I still think Stormfather Robbed them of the ability to change forms . Thus they accepted Odiums offer of forms of power. The Listeners were the one faction that rejected Odium . Everyone else drank the koolaid. Odium would not have been so appealing had they had thier own forms .

There is something more to Taln missing Honorblade
SzethIsBadAsHell replied to SzethIsBadAsHell's topic in Stormlight Archive
So if I’m reading this correctly he is saying that Hoid stole it and doesn’t have it anymore . Or that Hoid At least had the sword in his hands at one time , examining it I guess and no longer has it . Which do you interpret it as- 8 replies

I believe a clandestine organization is behind the disappearance of all the shards missing on Roshar . But Taln’s blade I think it was the of a known group . So at the End of Way of Kings Taln shows up with a Sharblade . Since it was being worn and not dismissed I assumed it was a regular shardblade . The thought was Taln came back after 4K years couldn’t find his shardblade , went to the cache that’s brought up by Amaram in WoR and shows up in Alethkar . Then a WoB comes out and Brandon says that Taln blade was swapped out somewhere between the shattered plains and Alethkar . So Hoid is on the trip so of course he becomes the prime suspect . I assumed Hoid knows Taln from way back when and trying to do him a solid and help keep Taln cover by hiding his shardblade . So groups like the ghostbloods won’t hear and try and steal it .... We know the sons of Honor didn’t do it cause Amaram and the ardents were trying to get the Herald to tell them where the cache was assuming it was the cache or Honorblades . The ghost bloods were trying to kill them so I doubt it was them . So that leaves just two on screen groups that could of done it . The group I believe that has hidden the majority of the shards on Roshar ( The aimians) and the group I believe is behind the theft The Shin What made me decide on the Shin was that I don’t think the Aimians would left a shardblade in place of The Honorblade . The Shin Shamanate have someway of tracking the Honorblades . Szeth said upon his death they would come to claim it The Shin would not have a problem with Leaving a blade in place as a sign of respect . The Shin could transport thier and back thru shadesmar using the Lightweaver or Elsecaller blades . They could also disguise themselves using The lightweaver blade. ( Perhaps this is why Taln freaked out when shallan tried to Lightweave while he was in the cell ) he thought whoever took his blade was back . When he realized it was just Radiant he calmed down! If it is them for the first time they have the Stoneward Honor blade to study and train with . I don’t know if I’m right , but if I am . I’m greatly interested on how the Stone Shamans locate honor blades. .

Thoughts on Yolish Lightweaving
SzethIsBadAsHell replied to Forest Nymphomaniac's question in Cosmere Q&A
How do we know anything about Yolen , is it in any short stories . Yes I know Hoid does it , but beyond that and the brief reference Arcanum Unbound . I have seen nothing about Yolen and if there is a work out thier I would love to read it . Side note : I know Brandon wrote 10 books before he published Elantris his 6th book . Dragonsteel is written but unpublished. Soooo my question is , can we read any of Brandon unpublished works anywhere ? On his website , a email copy etc? -
Is it Possible to get Atium and Lerasium from Harmonium
SzethIsBadAsHell replied to SzethIsBadAsHell's topic in Mistborn
@Dancer well I was looking for a mechanical way first . Even though I know mechanical ways won’t work . My idea was figure out a mechanical way ; then figure out what power could duplicate the mechanical way and perhaps that would work . Unfortunately I don’t know any powers that could cool the mist or condense it for that matter . I guess we will have to RAFO. -

What happens when one speaks an ideal
SzethIsBadAsHell replied to SzethIsBadAsHell's topic in Stormlight Archive
Off topic : I think there is a Cache of blades hidden near Nerak . When Ameram went to talk to Taln he was seeking the hidden trove that Taln spoke of only once. Amaram assumed Taln was talking of the Honorblades. We know the Honorblades are with the shin . I think Taln was talking bout all the rest of the shards that are missing . And we know from Dalinar vision. 1000 of knights divested themselves of shards and they is only about 80 in circulation . 20 in Alethkar , 20 in Jah keved and 40 in al remaining realms . That cache Taln spoke of is somewhere near the shattered plains! -
There is moment in WoR where Eshonai began to transform. Into Stormform , she looked up at Stormfather and said , “ you had once been a friend before you betrayed us “ ( I’m paraphrasing I don’t remember the exact words ) This is why I believe they speak of Stormfather . I have no information about the listeners or Singers ever worshiping Honor and Cultivation . If you are referring to the Ele estele I think you have made a mistake . The Singers three gods were Stormfather , Nightwatcher , and The Spren of the Stone . When Honor and Cultivation arrived they co-0pted all three and those three told the singers to accept human kind . Not realizing that they were under the thrall of Honor and Cultivation the Singers accepted human kind . I believe the Singers lost access to Stormfather which robbed them of the ability to change forms . Enter Odium , who promised new forms so they accepted . The Desolations began etc The listeners all took dullforn during the last Desolation called the false desolation . This is one BAM has linked with all the singers . At this time the listeners not wanting anything to do with Odium took dullforn . Thus when the Bondsmith imprisoned Bam , all the Singers were locked into slaveform . After thousands of years the listeners finally came out of dullforn and found Honor dead which gave them access to Stormfather again . They began trying to rediscover thier forms and could only manage 5 at the time if way of Kings I’m not saying I’m 100 percent this was put together after several rereads and lots of deductions . I suggest you reread Eshonai soliloquey to Stormfather and draw your own conclusions

@Calderis @Honorless what if you coated the spike in a covering , like silver plateing or gold plating , something to prevent water from touching it . Would the piercing not be effective anymore ?

I didn’t realize it was that sensitive . I thought it was like mercury and reacted with water . In that crossbow bolts . With plastic covers , you remove before firing . One bolt should stop any creature with water base -

I wonder if reynett will get the idea to make ettmetal bullets ,, omg that would explode in a body -
I was thinking the exact same thing . That’s why I made the post “ is there a way other than Hemalurgy to become a ferachemist ! When Kelsier held the powers of Preservation he probably discovered a simple way to access fetachemy. Used that method then made the bands of morning . He didn’t have time to wait until and adult nicrosil ferring natured .

Do you think the Heralds had plate
SzethIsBadAsHell replied to SzethIsBadAsHell's topic in Stormlight Archive
My jaws have been waiting since last year ! -
@Config2 well argued . The betrayal they speak of was mainly Stormfather . Before Honor came he existed as one of 3 Gods. He is prinarily how they changed form . I’m not sure if the 10 spren the Radiants use were important . Or if any of the sub spren associated with the Radiant spren ( is Honor spren / wind spren . But the listeners were most effected by Stormfather .

@RShara is Brandon Sanderson a scientist before he started writing books ? He looses every time he starts talking about particles etc and that just dawned on me as to why ? @Weltall so if it can’t be done mechanically , what kind of device would you need to do that . If would have to be something that captured investiture and maybe condense it perhaps . Have we seen anything in the Cosmere like that? -
I saw this in the coppermind while researching Ferachemy . I know the coppermind is not canon . So I’m asking as an opinion of what you guys thought . I know IRL people use chemistry and Alchemy to make alloy of metals and superarte metals . Could it be possible to get Harmonium and superate it into its two base metals . I’m Assuming Harmonium is theoretically an Allow of Atium and Lerasium . If so this is something the set would greatly abuse. One of my favorite quotes as a child was “ A little knowledge is a dangerous thing”
-
@Quantus well I was thinking of a way that anyone could do it from Skadrial . Some of your ideas were intriguing especially soul stamping . However , to become a mistborn you simply swallow and burn a bead of lerasium . ( theoretically you can glean one from harmonium ) to use Hemalurgy you need a spike and a misting or ferring victim and the knowledge on where to spike the person . So there has to be a simple way of becoming a ferachemist beyond medallions . Burning Harmonium might be possible . If you place the harmonium in a liquid that is not water and swallowing it. I’m not sure if it has to be a Terris person or not tho.

@Bigmikey357 we always think alike -
@Config2 I think the key to understanding is in the song of spren. That’s what this post was about . I wanted help deciphering the meaning behind that .
-
Now that I didn’t know . I assumed they all died fighting the Kollos. Other than Spook. . And breeze The others turned into world hoppers and are galavanting around the Cosmere . I got this from era 2 when the set had traced all its victims back to the lord mistborn . And wax is breeze defendant . I knew they are extremely rare in the south. I guess that was really closed minded of me . Out of all the planets Scadrial has the most potential . I can’t wait to read lost metals or Era 3 for that matter . Thanks for the discussion guys!

I understand and I agree , in fact I said something in my response to calderis. Sometimes when I make a post I don’t think it all the way thru . As the thread developes I see faults in my own theory . My initial thinking was you made Spook a mistborn , why not make a full Terris ; Furthermore, I was under the impression that because Ferachemy came from the fact that two shards permeated a planet . Allomancy was preservations system , Hemalurgy was Ruins system and Ferachemy was part of each . The Terris were the original inhabitants . Rashek created the nobles and the Ska later and they no access to Ferachemy . So after the Catecandra I theorized had not but for the influence of Harmony , the remaining Terris should have developed a full ferachemist by now ! As this thread developed , I realized all the Terras that remained were not Ferachemist , they had it in there Dna , and they were interbreeding . I realized this could of had the same effect as a Shard manipulating the gene pool. Finally I just thought Harmony thought the powers too dangerous . After all he took Kelsier advice and made Spook a mistborn yet felt no need to repair the damage that the lord Ruler had done over millennia . I’m Not going to lie , I loved Sazed . But Harmony. Let’s me down every time . First with Paalm . And then with his own people . I don’t like his stark neutrality at all
-
Ok so when Harmony took over what did he do make some changes ? We know he changed the earth , got rid ash and created trees , flowers , etc . He made Spook a mistborn . All the allomancers now are descended from Spook and Breeze. All the full ferachemist died so , I’m guessing what Terris they had left after 300 years can barely make ferrings. So here are the basic questions going thru my mind. 1.) why didn’t he boost one of Terris until a full Ferachemist like he did Spook ? Or grant access to Terris again as Preservation did ? Do you think it’s because Ruin presence in Harmonry is stopping him? Powers conflicting or what not ? 2. If there is another way to be a ferachemist outside of Hemalurgy what’s your best guess? Mine is it has something to do with a Mistwraiths . They were created from old Terris people . Might you be able to do some kind of interaction with them to creste a Ferachemist 3. Would using nicrosil or whatever Metal grants connection and divesting yourself of who you are and trying to fill it with connection to Terris or a Mistwraiths create enough to possibly change a full ferachemist .
-
I don’t think I am . No question is a dumb question if you don’t know the answer . In the link you shared , the questioner asked the exact question I did . Brandon says there is a way to obtain it and no we haven’t missed in the books . He did say it came from Preservation which is opposite of what I understood . I thought it came from both shards being infused on the same planet . So on that I was mistaken . Brandon even said that question was a good one , then he RAFO . So I assume he will tell us in the lost metals . What I’m trying to do is guess before that happens . 1st I never posisted this . What I meant was if Ferachemy was due to the two Powers infusing on the planet , then it should return genetically in generations . There should be a full ferachemist by now . Rashek created the noble and the Ska which neither genetically had Ferachemy . So what I actually posited was Harmony when he remade the word must have limited the gene Ferachemy so low that it hasn’t returned a bred a full ferachemist yet. So I was asking was thier a way to become a ferachemist without Hemalurgy . Your WoB answered that question . There is . So despite Harmony obvious meddling it may just return .
