Chiri-Chiri seemed to grow slightly bigger after she diablerized that Smokeform Fused in Oathbringer . I wonder just How big she can get . That would be awesume if she could reach the size of a Dragon !!

Off topic ! How long you think Hoid makes level 5 lightweaver ?? He literally has 4000 to come to terms with all his issues and I’m sure he knows some juicy truths that can expedite his advance within the order ! How long before Level 5

I’m not sure why people the Skybreakers are so noble . The current Skybreakers are pretty much sociopaths that kill anyone that violates the laws they are enforcing . With no remorse . The little girl that drew a knife on Nale and he Rammed a shardblade into her chest , and tossed her like trash . For stealing come on sne was starving . But they don’t care . If there is a Proto Radiant around they would kill him if he was jaywalking . As far as them following the law . I have to honestly say that is the most easiest thing to do . The law is fluid , it means different things to different people. The Alethi have laws , the Shin have laws , and the Aziz have laws . What might be illegal in Azish lands might be legal in Alethkar . So what happens when the Skybreakers go to somewhere where organized crime , a thieves guild or Corrupt politicians control the law making . It could lead to the Skybreakers doing some horrendous things and going well it’s ok cause it’s the Law. So the Skybreakers are following Nale who is choosing to recognize the Dawnsingers as the original inhabitants or Roshar . We don’t know if he will back the Fused or if some of the freed parshendi break away from Odium. And Nale chooses to follow them . But I just don’t have any faith that Nale will of any benifit to any protagnist in this story. Szeth has chosen to follow the will of Dalinar Kholin. So basically what Dalinar says is law . If and when he cleanses Shinovar, it May make it Easier for him to Swear the 5th ideal . The one where the Skybreaker becomes the law . If I’m interpreting the concept right , he will literally be the will of Dalinar . “ The right hand of God “ which should be a lot easier than trying to become the embodiment of all the laws of Alethkar or worse all the Laws of the Azish for example . Which do you think is easier getting your mind into following one mans ideals or following hundreds of laws in a specific land .

That’s just it the mechanics involved in this are beyond my understanding of this WoB . I feel Brandon is misleading us by being to general in his answer . I need somebody who understands the nuances of the magic systems to tell me if these things would work . @Calderis u have any idea if he can indirectly harm somebody physically . Or is the thought of indirectly harming them thru concieling the terrain with lightweaving enough to reach this threshold ?

I can’t believe no one has considered Honor . Even though he is dead he laid the groundwork long ago . Stormfather has to show visions . Stormfather is a spren only capable of Bonding a person willing to unite instead of divide . Honor created 10 Radiant spren . Most have strict ideals insuring that certain people with certain beliefs will have Powers . Honor Bound Odium to Braize. Ensuring he will have to defeat honor’s agents on Roshar before he could unstick himself . The Spren go out and find the type of people Honor wanted and chooses them . When spren numbers are low , the can reproduce asexually or Stornfather can make some .

Does anybody Remember the battle of Thaylen city . Dalinar starts barking commands . Jasnah here , Shallan this , Lift and Szeth there . Who is the one person he left out ? Adolin !!! So Adolin was like I’ll figure out something to do . This it what Calderis and most of pro- Radiant guys are mainly getting at . Your talking about Thunderclast and Fused and. Unmade . We barely saw Fen or Navani cause they had no place thier . I’m not saying he can’t perfom another role and be effective . But is that what you would prefer to see . He spent 3 books building Adolin up as dualist and a soldier. And your saying you would rather see him set aside that momentum. And support in another Role and become like Queen Fen , Guax , ??? Having him run out that without Radiant healing and abilities will just get him killed ! Or Mayve he will go out there with no powers and whip chull , and that will make everyone happy ? If that is your hopes I respect that too . But I want to see him Skating thru a battlefield like Tron slicing thru the legs of 20 Fused as he does . Without Powers he is not capable of keeping up with the Jones’s . Any bridge 4 squire will be 5 times as effective as him . But that’s not the biggest loss. The biggest loss is we won’t see how beautiful Maya is when reformed . I challenge anyone to tell me they don’t want to know how this works , they don’t want to know how to heal a dead eye ?! I’m not sure if they could use shardplate or not but I saw them like a hocky player if they had thier plate on , and Like Tron if they had thier plate off. I could totally see Adolin in windstance slicing thru Tons of Fused or Smoke Stance Fight a duel with one Fused head up .

@Bigmikey357 so I have a question that might help your concept a little . We know that places in the Cognitive Realm are kind of reversed to the Physical Realm. Places in the PR that are land are beads in CR and places are water in the PR translate into Land in the CR. Has anybody Considered what Space is like in the CR . What if Space is like Ice could one skate or walk over it ? That would be one way to world hop without using perpendicularity . Provided you had a way to get to the Cognitive Realm in the first place. Ie ( transportation surge , Oathgate , or similar power or device .) Since we see The ones above move thru space ., there must be a corresponding position to the Cognitive Realm . And since solids are liquids in CR what would space be ? Might be you could have a train going thru Space in the Cr? What do you think .

No but I can see him skating around gracefully like a Hocky player with an enormous Shardblade . In Edgedancer Nale described the edgedancer as dominating a battlefield like ribbons cutting thru the army ! Now tell me can’t picture that! In your example war machine has the same physical abilities as iron man . In fact war machine has offensive weapons while iron man original concept was he was only supposed to have defensive weapons. Iron man Powers was primarily his ingenuity . Iron man 3 and Endgane really touched on this I really like your reason though to be honest . I had no idea that support characters roles in a story were so limited. It makes sense . However I think Brandon is breaking that troupe. Look at bridge 4 . Teft and Lopen are Radiants now and have power . They function off screen , at least they have limited POV like in interludes . Squires can fly and lash and heal . Adolin will need those things or he will be a crutch throughout the story .

We all know that Hoid has a weakness . If he even thinks about causing harm to someone who is not a cognitive shadow he experiences incapacitating pain . So this got me wondering what all he could do if for example some Fused caught up to him . They are Cognitive shadows so maybe he could hurt them? I also wondered if the 17th Shard tried to take him prisoner could he indirectly fight ? 1. Could he use emotional allomancy to make them fear him so he could scare them off ? Or perhaps talk them into letting him go 2. Could he use Breath and say enchant his cloak and say defend me ? Could he create Lifeless and have them fight for him ? 3. Let’s say there is a pit in the floor and someone is chasing him , could he use lightweaving and make the pit appear to be solid ground ? Or would that cause him pain 4. Let’s say 4 Fused are attacking him . He used lightweaving to appear as a Fused and make another Fused appear as him . The other Fused unwittingly attack there fellow would Hoids weakness key in because he didn’t harm anybody what situations or powers do you think he could get away with and which can’t he . ? I had this idea that he is not helpless . I think he do Alot and get away with it if it’s indirect enough . My favorite is Hoid is in a bar up comes the 17 Shard . Hoid puts some poison in his glass . Then uses emotional allomancy to Riot everyone sense of thirst in the bar , he flairs it in fact and sets his cup of poisoned wine down in front of him as the 17 Shard surrounds him . If one of them drank the poison because he was so thirsty that’s not him harming them , they harmed themselves ... idk what do you guys think ?

I really don’t understand why it’s so important that Adolin doesn’t gain powers . It’s like everyone thinks Hawkeye is cooler than wolverine . Y’all want him to be Captain America when he could be captain marvel . ( when I was a kid she was a he ... lol) Anyways the most exciting arc is for him to revive Maya that’s a game changer by itself . Please let Adolin be all he can be . Good looks and a bunch of heart won’t help him defeat the Fused .

I’m confused by this . I thought anyone who went into Elantrians perpendicularity without the intent of traveling died and was dissolved . So your telling that guy actually lived . What was his name in Oathbringer . I don’t recall an Elantrian in shadesmar ?

I was joking around on another thread and said Rothfuss and Sanderson would be good because then maybe Rothfuss would get the idea to finish doors . I like this idea that would be cool . I know do to the nature of writing you never see two authors co write something . I see it in graphic novels and comics but hardly never in books . But I really would love to Sanderson team up with Joe Abercrombie or M Strazynski . Sanderson excels at magic systems and personalities but you never ever can say his characters are evil . Some walk the line but it’s never clear . Abercrombie and Strazinski are masters of showing that all Monsters don’t look like Monsters some can look like people. Sometimes we like to have something evil to say or justify why we need such a hard protagonist . Sanderson seems to always make his characters broken in some way . He could benefit from seeing things from a different point of view . Are thier any others you would like to see Sanderson team up with??

That’s one thing that always bothered me . I wanted to make a thread about it but I just figured it was a RAFO answer , Why isn’t silver an Allomantic Metal ? That would be an instant reason for trade with threnody . It would give allomancers an advantage when they Worldhopped to threnody . Traditionally silver is a metal that is anti supernatural . So I just can’t get why he didn’t do it?

This is a well thought out theory imo. I could see this happening . The only part I don’t see is an arms race because not every person who has a shardblade can meet the requirements of the dead spren . Adolin character is someone who if Maya was alive she would chose to bond with . But what would happen if someone had a skybreaker dead-eyes and that person did not have a respect for the law ? No matter how much he talked to the blade it wouldn’t connect because that persons ideals were too different .... I don’t think This will happen. If Adolin manages to revive Maya , I could totally see him skating thru a battlefield like he had ice skates on slicing thru tons of enemies . I think Lift will be envious that she can’t do the same , she has to move around on her knees because she crashes every time she tries to stand up and use abrasion . I’m sure after seeing Adolin do it eventually she will learn ! Heck , she might even get Adolin to teach her how to skate. But teasing him nahhhh not in the cards .

- more backstory on Dawnsingers : why they went to Odium ; why they felt betrayed by the spren ; why none of them had been chosen by Radiant spren - what the Aimians are hiding in Amia is it a Dawnshard or what - where all the Shardblades are being kept stockpiled at - how shardplate is formed , is it secondary spren or hardened stormlight - Urithiru finally gets awakened - Maya gets restored - The epic scene hinted at by Sanderson: I’m hoping it’s a battle with multiple magic systems ( ie the 17th Shard finally catches up with Hoid and try to capture him - Other Bondsmith get chosen namely the sibling and hopefully it will be Navani - another Parshmen gets chosen as a Radiant. - a new surge explained like the Stonewards surge or Willshapers surge - Lifts backstory : how she went to the Nightwatcher at 10 - Cultivation’s magic system

My main reason for thinking they somehow managed to kill a Delver was the fact they attempted to summon one . As Dangerous as Delvers are you don’t do that unless you have a back up plan In case they couldn’t control it . I think they summoned it , tried to manipulate it and it noticed the Delver corpse and whatever Cytonic beacon or control they employed didn’t work because the Delver was so focused on the corpse. Perhaps I’m being too human in my thinking . But , something drew the Delver attention and I don’t think it was the communications .

So I was actually discussing this very thing with my friend today . My initial thoughts was he was crazy . But the more we discussed it the more I think he and you are right . I came and made a post really quick , I posted it in the Skyward section by mistake . I have not had any replies yet . So when. I came back looking for why I noticed this post . What if the Humans killed the first Delver .built a base on Detritus . Thinking to call in a Delver and send it to attack the Superiority . This Delver was much stronger , came in to investigate the corpse and inadvertently killed all the humans on Detritus . This sounds a lot like something Brandon would do I’m liking your theory a lot !

So I have one friend IRL that reads Sanderson . We both read the same books at the same time and go back interpret what we have read . He has this crazy theory that Detritus is actually a Delver corpse . He says the caverns in the Delver maze , spenda see are identical to the ones at home . I was like that was because an alien stole it from Spensa mind and showed it to Spensa . I thought about the Vision Spenda saw of the Delver that assaulted Detritus . So I was skeptical at first But the more I thought about it the more it makes sense. What if the humans killed the first Delver . Built a station on the planets corpse . What if when they summoned the Delver thinking they could control it .
