Not really . I reread part 5 and found a lot of things I missed and most of them I liked . Part 5 felt like Sanderson I loved . Part 1 was ok . But parts 2,3,and 4 were just long drawn out and boring. Night has been the most invested object in the Cosmere per WoB . I agree with you on all your points . It’s just a matter of opinion I guess . Main thing I’m disappointed in is I wanted to hear the history of the singers and why the Spren left them long ago . The flashbacks should have dug in more like they did with Dalinar. That’s all I’m saying

It was Created from the Stone spren , which was there when they got to Roshar .

Crazy thing is I missed it on my first read of the book . I think it’s amazing . I can’t believe no one wants to talk about how amazing it is !

Ok Maybe this will Clarify it for you . Stormfather , Sibling , And Nightwatcher existed on Roshar before Honor and cultivation arrived . Honor and Cultivation Co-opted the mega spren to be thier servants . It’s possible the unmade were 9 other Mega spren that were Co-opted by Odium . Oh Honor invested into Stormfather , Cultivation invested into Nightwatcher and they both invested into the stone spren to make the Sibling ...... look at it that way and see if it makes more sense to you .

So I was wondering what was Venli 2nd ideal . I remember hearing they were accepted but I don’t recall her making any oaths . Any help you can be appreciated

I saw this and I considered it but I wasnt sure. Your words helped me form another theory . I think this Shows that Dalinar is Ascending further . He is Growing into Unity . I’m thinking Dalinar will merge with Stormfather and Become Unity a replacement for Honor . What do you think I didn’t know this is a possibility . So I’m give it a maybe . I think it was Nightwatcher . Call me crazy but I think Venli mother is being Bonded by the Nightwatcher . It’s a wild guess but Venli mother was the most connected to Roshar and I’m almost certain the last Bondsmith will be a Listner . I thought it was going to be Rlain when. Venli said he was spoken for . I guess we will see in book 5

I remember long ago we had a thread theorizing what living shard plate could do . We realized it had to be more effectiant than shard plate . I was pleasantly surprised that Kaladin could move it around to different people at will . Though I suppose only Windrunner with thier inclination to protect others will have the motivation that way . I was also surprised that Kaladin said he was always wearing it , it’s just invisible I suppose until he summons it . Maybe only windrunners have that ability since it’s made of wind spren. So perhaps every order is different . We will see

When Kaladin said the words of his 4th ideal . A curious thing happened . A voice that wasn’t the Stormfather said these words are accepted. It’s a small thing but it has me thinking it’s foreshadowing something. I considered it could of been Dalinar.. maybe the sibling , idk it’s more to it ! Does anyone have any ideas

What if they were not false memories . What if they were certain memories that are designed to coerce someone into coming to the wrong conclusion . Like when someone has half the story . Here is an example a woman is murdered . The police find out her husband was abusive and the woman was planning on leaving him . With no other information the police come to the conclusion the husband did . Later they find out the wife had a secret boyfriend , one who is wanted in the murders of three other women that were planning on leaving thier husbands!!! It’s the old saying “ a little knowledge is a dangerous thing. So Hoid could have given Odium info . Just not the whole facts . Info to nudge him in a direction he wanted him to go .

You may be right , I’m operating under some assumptions so bear with me . I think Wit knew Teravangion traded places with Rayse . Renarin knew so it’s possible . The way he said his name Rayse it just seemed like he was trying to trick Teravangion. . I’m assuming the reason Hoid is not insane despite being older than the Heralds is he stores his excess memories in breaths . So I’m assuming the memories that were stolen were the pre shattering ones . Rayse wouldn’t need those Teravangion does . So I know it’s a lot but it’s the best I could come up . Hoid has been hiding from Odium for a millennia . Teravangion found him a little to easy for it to be anything but a trap

During one of Venli Flashbacks she was trying to discover Warform . At this time they only had workform and mateform. Venli is talking to her mother and her mother says let’s take this to the Five !!!!! This has to be a mistake ! At this time the Five could not have existed . Why because thier was only 3 forms available to Listeners at that time . Dullform, Mateform , and workform. The Elders that made up the Five were one of each form of Listener . Nimbles and Warform are not yet discovered so they could not have had anyone sitting in for those forms . To lack a better term at that time it should have been the 3 . Thoughts ? Am I right , was this an oversight by Brandon cause I can’t see how this occurred otherwise

I’m Not getting the Evil part . I am one who has never thought Teravangion was evil . The way I see him he is an extreme pragmatist .His original Diagram involved a plot to become the Ruler of Roshar . He was going to ask Odium to spare all his subjects . Once Odium agreed he planned on taking over all of Roshar , then surrendering to Odium and sparing everyone’s lives thereby saving everyone . To do that he had Szeth assasinate a lot of world . I’m sure you know all this but my points is he believes the Ends justify any means . Now take that and apply it to Odium shard . Odium wants to Destroy Roshar only so he can be free from Braise , so he can continue to go thru the Galaxy and be the most powerful shard . What if Teravangion feels that a great Cosmere war is coming and it will endanger Roshar . We have the ghostbloods from Scadrial trying to interfere in Roshars affairs already , you have Herald torturing Spren to death to find a way to get off world . That’s just the kinds of schemes that Teravangion is good at . I don’t think he is evil . He buddy buddy with Cultivation . Rayse was evil so Cultivation hid from him . I think it will be interesting

My initial thought was no as well until I thought about how Odium was acting towards the end . Thier were times Rayse wanted to do something but the Shards intent kept interfering . So the vessel has its own Agenda but the Shards intent can Overide the vessel. So that leads me to think Cultivation chose or created a person whose nature closely mirrors the shard . That’s why she needed someone full of compassion . The only time Teravangio. Is compassionate is when he is dumb

Best surprise in the IMO best surprise in the whole book ! I never saw that coming . But I love it .... Todium will be the ultimate antagonist we Deserve!!!

Teravangion or Should I say Todium, man I love this Antagonist. But I have a Major question. Do you guys think his Boon curse is still in effect ? I’m sure his abilities are enhanced so on his dumb days he will be about as smart as a genius level human. While on his Smart days he would have Shard level intellect and no compassion allowing him to control His shards fury . While on his dumb days his passions are felt strongly. I kind of think this is what Cultivation had in mind all along...... I’m thinking while he may want to beat Dalinar, he will still want to save Roshar. I’m thinking he stole Hoids memories of the shattering of Adolnalsium. And may set his Sights on destroying the rest of the shards in the Cosmere....in any case I imagine he is a much better schemer than Rayse....what do you guys think

I don’t know about anyone else but I was extremely let down by Rhythm of War. I literally could not sleep for days before this book came out. I was so excited and while I can’t get every thing I wanted I expected more Things I hated: 1. We were promised a major cosmere scene: I do not know what you invisioned but I was expecting a major battle for Urithiru with investiture from several cosmere worlds being tossed around. After the awesome battle in Oathbringer for Thaylen city I just knew Rhythm would supersede this. I still don’t know what cosmere scene Brandon was referring unless it was Hoid confrontation with Odium during the epilogue !?!? 2. I Really wanted Adolin to do more with Maya , he is almost there? How convincing would it have been to the Honorspren if Adolin would have revived Maya. Boy it would of shut the honors pen up . As it stands I hate the honorspren more than I hated Sadeas. It just was a let down for a character I love 3. Rock and Lopen my two favorite characters were no where to be found. It really ruined my bridge four vibe for this book 4. Venli flashbacks were not informative enough, as complicated as the singers were , I feel he just told us things we already knew, I was extremely bored during every Venli flashback. In Oathbringer every Dalinar flashback was gold. I didn’t know who the Blackthorn was but by the end I respected the hell out of Dalinar. I liked Venli going into this book , but besides freeing Rlain she literally did nothing the whole book IMO.I saw absolutely no willshaper powers or purpose for that matter . Things I loved.... 1. Toadium . I absolutely loved this .... Hoid , Dalinar better watch out Rayse is out and old T is here. Teravangion will be an Antagonist that I would actually . I’ll make a thread later to discuss him 2. Navani bounding the sibling was right . It fealt good, I loved how she was able to outsmart the ancient Fused and iallyoded te sibling . For a while I thought it would be Rlzin 3. I love how pattern was redeemed . For a while I was disappointed in him but now I see Shallan is just as dangerous as I always figured she was. 4. Lastly I loved how the singers are ruthless as they need to be, but in many ways they are more compassionate than the humans . When Navani and the lady of pain worked together look at what they accomplished. well another three years to wait for SA 5 so does anybody agree or disagree with my points?

One of the most intriguing things was the Soren that appeared in the physical realm as how they looked in the cognitive realm . I’m assuming the men Adolin fought in the Cognitive realm are agents of the insane Bondsmith Herald. The question is why does anyone have a guess as to why ?

I think Toadium stole Hoids memories . I have long believed Hoids true purpose is to put Adonalsium back together again . He was there when Adonalsium was shattered which gives him unique knowledge . Do we really want Teravangion the master schemer with that kind of information .

I Absolutely loved this . The Lopen is already one of my favorite characters in the series . To see him grow into a full Radiant was satisfying . I had no idea his cousin Hulio is actually pretty smart cause the only thing I have heard him say before this novella was Bridge four” To find out that Rock and Cord are considered “The Sighted” was more good cannon. For Cord to get Horneater peaks a set of Plate was so exciting . And lastly we now know or have an idea what Dawnshards are . I wonder could someone like Hoid use one by himself ? How many are thier ? ( I’m guessing 16 ) have we seen any and not realized it ? Like the painting on Nalthis .... can’t wait

Your theory gives me an idea though ? What if there is one hidden on Nalthis in that painting that Lightsong kept looking at . IIRC Kalidan saw a similar painting in the Cognitive Realm that I kept thinking is important ! They could be hidden in works of art . People that are invested see different things when looking into those paintings .... could this be why

I unfortunately don’t have an answer . What I have is more questions ? Are Dawnshards of Command need to be Paired with ones of intent to use them ? What level of power is needed to use one ? While I’m sure a shard could use one could one of the Fused with 1000 of years of experience surgebinding use one ? Could Hoid perhaps ? How many shards are thier in total ? Are thier 8 or 4 ? My guess is thier are 16 as Adonalsium was shattered into 16 parts , but that is pure guess . And lastly why can’t a shard or Herald detect the dawnshard in someone , part of me says they can’t or odium would of sent Fused to fetch one on aimia long ago , but at some level I’m thinking they must cause the Aimians knew Rysen had it. Thoughts

So I was wondering what new resonances might occur if a Radiant from one order got a hold of a Honorblade of another Order could new resonances be discovered between surges . Then something dawned on me . We have seen something similar on screen and it didn’t require an Honorblade ; therefore it may be quite possible we may see something new in the future . When Dalinar and Shallan got together and made the map they were blending lightweaving and Tension perhaps . ( I’m really not sure what surge Dalinar was using ) but they did create a new resonance . This got me thinking Dalinar and Mullata or another Dustbringer could probably create complex statues , designs and statues to form architecture . Sounds boring ? Yeah probably .... but it lead me to Jasnah and shallan working together to blend lightweaving and transportation : they could send Holograms at a long distance ! How could this be useful ? Sending messages back and forth to someone in shadesmar . Sending messages from Thaylan city to Urithiru without using a spanreed. Long distance communication is always a good thing . Can anyone think of any cool effects from blending two surges ?

I’m really confused by this as a lerasium misting would become a mistborn the first time he used its ability . Also anyone can burn Lerasium , so in a sense all humans on Scadrial are Lerasium listings by default ! Right?

I think a better source for compounding and new resonances would be if a Radiant got a hold of an aligned Honorblade .Lets say a lightweaver got ahold of the elsecsller honorblade . He could compound the transmutation surge and create new resonances with lightweaving and transportation as elsecsllers don’t have that surge!
