  1. My friend actually introduced me to SCP last year . Interesting
  2. 15,000 listeners sacrificed thier lives to create the Everstorm . While I won’t pretend I understand the mechanics of the Everstorm I will say this . As a rule of fantasy all magic has a cost . Magic that is that heavily invested would take an equal amount of investiture to reverse it . So I really don’t see that as a option.
  3. One of the first one I ever saw was concerning Shallan . After finishing WoR, it’s obvious Shallan has had her blade since childhood, but has suppressed the memory . During WoK when she was on the ship and several times when Shallan was in danger , she kept thinking 10 heartbeats and I could have help . It made no sense at the time . But on a reread it’s so obvious . I kept expecting her to say some words before she killed Tyn. And only realized the implications of how long she has had it on the reread
  4. So I have been reading since a YA . And I have two great loves . Jordan and Sanderson. Jordan books are just way to long to Reread that would take me like 5yrs . But that’s not why I read and reread Sanderson. It’s the Secrets “ as Kelsier would say” “there is always more secrets . I was trying to explain to this lady at the airport why she should read Sanderson and why she would definantly want to reread . I tried to explain the Chekhov gun style of writing . Where you hear the Gun go off , the bullet has to land somewhere. Basically it’s that Sanderson doesn’t write much fluff , if he touches on a subject it’s more than likely meaningful. You might not understand why on the first read , but on a reread it just jumps out at you. Sometimes you can get to the wrong conclusion , but often times you discover something new , a secret . And it is so satisfying when you do. No other author does that . What about you , do you reread Sanderson ? And why ? And , Have you found any secrets ?
  5. THe. Heirocracy. Strengthen in my mind he was seeing the visions , Either he and one of the Ardentia actually did see a vision. Or He knew the Ardents visions were false because he was seeing the real ones . I see the Hierocracy as a plot to undermine anybody who did see Stormfather related visions . People would think the person was crazy , just like how they thought Dalinar was crazy . The Heirocracy also erased all references to the Knights Radiants , their powers , and Urithiru from all the libraries in Roshar . This could be just religion . But this whole thing stinks like a ghostblood/skybreaker plot to erase Radiants from the minds of men , hoping this would stop a desolation. This would be a good question to ask for WoB .
  6. So I was rereading Oathbringer for like the 5th and something just really started bugging me. Has anybody wondered why he started Conquering Roshar.? What if Sunmaker started receiving the visions from Stormfather? We know Gavilar also saw the visions and was on his way to becoming a Bondsmith. But despite Gavilar knowing way more than Dalinar did ( I give Gavilar being a Son of Honor) credit for most of this knowledge. Sunmaker didn’t have this luxury. So let’s say he started getting the visions. Started hearing the whole Unite them rhetoric. Saw a few vision of what was to come and figured , you know what I’m no diplomat, I’ll just Comquer everyone , then when the Desolation gets here , Everyone from Alethkar to the Aziz to the Reri will be under one rule and we can fight them. I also find his Death mysterious , from all reports he was in his prime. Somebody that Nale would probably kill with Division and people mistook it for disease. There are four Kholin family members ( counting Elhokar ) who we’re chosen by spren. So he has the right pedigree. I just don’t see thrill encouraging him to Conquer , There is something more. Sanderson has brought his name up and refered to many times . Sanderson always has a reason for his comments . I wouldn’t be surprised if he writes a short story and confirms that Sunmaker was on his way to becoming a Bondsmith and was killed for it . Probably by Nale or the ghostbloods!

  8. With The Everstorm in play the Radiants are faced with a seemingly unwinable problem . The Fused that have fallen are reborn in the next Everstorm . So can u think up a solution . Here is few ideas I have and I wanted to run them by you guys to see what you thought ? The Oathpact is weekend . How about Dalinar , Shallan , Kaladin form a new oathpact to try and keep the Fused on Brayse! 2. Dalinar , Kaladin , and Venli talk the Singers into abandoning the Fused and denying them bodies after they are slain . Probably the smartest solution . But you can’t anybody to agree on anything nowadays 3. Find and locate a way to kill the Fused permenantly . The dagger that was used on the Herald should work on the Fused too . They are both Cognitive shadows . Nightblood should work too. If they could duplicate that dagger Moash had . It might be a start . 4. Contest of champions : I just don’t see this working . Stormfather says this will only buy time . And now the Fused are set free . I just don’t see them stopping Cause Odium is forced to leave . what do you guys think . ?
  9. While recently looking up Spren I found out something interesting. There are no Spren in Shinovar. I have no idea why this is , hopefully someone here can lend some insight .... However , something else has been bothering me for a long time and perhaps this fact is an answer to question I have been asking myself. During WoK Risins Baps ( forgot his name) travels to Shinovar, he trades them soulcast Metal ( the shim do not laccept Metal mined from stone. They traded chickens for this ( apparently chickens like horses are indigenous to Shinovar! That really bothered me . It made no sense! The Shin have possession of the honorblades of the elsecallers and Lightweavers ! And with those blades they could soulcast all the metals they want . So why didn’t they ? Unless the objects inside Shinovar have no spren and therefore cannot be Soulcast !also a Fabrial shouldn’t work inside Shinovar either . As we all know Fabriana contain trapped spren , so you can’t have one in a spren free zone . The spren would probably be ejected when it enters Shinovar. Thoughts
  10. Considering the enormous light you have shed on this , I’m convinced there is conspiracy involved . Only 80 active shards out of around 750 . I like your Aimian theory best . While I doubt they are in shadesmar with no physical counterpart in the physical Realm . Just think if Jasnah or someone capable of entering shadesmar without a perpindicularity could travel to Aimian island for example. He or she would see 700 spren with burned out eyes standing around silent looking rediculous ! That person could enter the physical at that point snatch up all the shards . And get them back to non Radiants who could use them. I imagine even with the new Radiant blades , every sword that could cut stone would be needed.
  11. During WoK one of Dalinar’s Visions he see’s the Recreance. He estimates 200 shardbearers divesting themselves of there shards . He further gives an account of current shards . Alektkar has 20 , Jah keved has 20, and all remaining nations equal up to what the two major nations have collectively. So that is 80 shardblades . My question is where is the other 120 . Is there a hidden stockpile ? Maybe the parshendi have them hidden or is there just a big stockpile of shards somewhere on the shattered plains . Taln blade is not in the histories , not his honorblade but the blade that he showed up with in WoK was not in any scholars descriptions . So I’m trying to figure who is hiding all those shards . I really don’t think it’s the parshendi . My best guess is the heralds May have hidden them somewhere. Or some other Organization but that’s an aweful lot of shards to go unaccounted for
  12. Ok so I can accept that , I couldn’t remember if he saw the same visions as Dalinar ? Or if the Stormfather is the only one who can do it .
  13. I haven’t been in group for a long time so if someone has already posted this query my apologies. We know Gavilar was in the process of becoming a bondsmith, before he was killed. When I first heard this I and probably everyone else assumed it was Stormfather ! What if it wasn’t . I don’t think it was the nightwatcher either , but I started Wondering what if it was the sibling. What if Gavilar death is what caused the sibling ( Stone spren) to slumber. My former theory was the shattering of the shattered plains is what caused the Stone spren to slumber , but what if it was Gavilar Death??? Thoughts ??
  14. I get the premise that you have to be broken in order to be invested . Thing is Szeth is kind of Unique in this regard . He said he heard a voice like Nightblood long ago . So I guess that was spren trying to bond him long ago . He has been surgebinding through use of Honorblades and no Nahal bond to protect him . We know he has trained with all 11 blades the shin have had . While Jasnah have been doing this 6 years . I’m estimating Szethto have been surgebinding for 20 to 60 years . He had no Nahal bond to guide his morals .i think this may have cause him to go insane long before he became truthless . The voices he hears of his victims . His infantile logic how it’s everyone’s fault that they can’t stop him . So again I wonder if this is what happen to the humans on Ashyn who were surgebinding for years without the benifit of a Nahal Bond. The Heralds also don’t have bonds. What if it’s not the torture that drove them mad by itself , but the torture and the prolonged use of Surges . The Fused who posses one surge each and have been doing it for 1000 of years are insane too . So I think it kind of provoked further discussion and don’t just dismiss it without thinking about it.
  15. So I have been thinking a lot about how the surgebinders destroyed their previous planet . And the overall fear that they will do the same to Roshar. The only character we have seen who has been surgebinding for years is Szeth. Other than him we have shallan we have shallan who has forgotten much of what she has done . And perhaps some unnamed Skybreakers who we have no POV to judge from. But Szeth is clearly insane . What if it’s not him being abused as a truth less that drove him to insanity ? But his prolonged use of surgebinding that drove Szeth to insanity ? Thoughts ?
  16. I’m still Rotfl laughing at this one !!! Too Effin funny !!!
  17. I thought that ehlokhar wasn’t really dead , I was thinking he would pop up again like jasnah , I figured he finished saying the paths in his head or under his breath and would heal . Or he subconsciously surgebinded an illusion of him dying so he could get away . It wasn’t until I realized the thing Hoid got from the ruins was actually ehlokar’s cryptic spren that realized that theory would never happen. Would have been nice though...... I also thought Adolin quasi dead shardblade maya was a stoneward blade and Adolin would resurrect maya to become a stoneward . When I found out maya was an edgedancer spren I was just devastated . While Adolin fighting style is similar to edgedancer , I don’t think his personality is akin to one ... maybe will see more.
  18. I was fascinated by Lift, when she appeared inside Dalinar vision I thought this was because she was the Avatar of Cultivation !?! Turns out she has a boon curse from the Nightwatcher and part of her boon is she can touch spren , which would make her exist in theory in both the cognitive and physical realms which explains how she entered Dalinar vision . Furthermore I have a theory that Lift was older than 13 . The idea She went to the Nightwatcher at 10 never made sense to me. I thought maybe she was an older woman who went to the nightwatcher and never wanted to grow up , so the nightwatcher told her she would always stay the same . I thought this meant she would always stay the same mentally . Forever having the mind of a child ( her curse) I notice she had started her period . Which girls typically start around the age of thirteen. So her body was aging but her mind was still childlike. While this theory hasn’t been disproven . No one in the group agreed so I’m sure it’s a pretty bad theory by most critics evaluation . Still interesting to think about . We know Lift will survive until the second series of 5 books thru WOB . So I can’t wait to see if it’s true or not !!!
  19. Well nightblood would have to be born with Terri’s genes , so he could possibly have the gene that allows humans to become ferrings or full ferachemist . Since he wasn’t there is zero chance he could use a metalmind. However , just speculation perhaps if somebody tied one of the medallions from southern scadrial that anyone touching could use there might be a tiny chance he could use one as long as it had connection as one of its 3 abilities. Although I can’t think of any abilities that nightblood could use as a sword , he can’t use pewter or steel . Would have no need of brass as he is a sword and doesn’t get cold. He might be able use a coppermind and learn things . Or if there’s is a ferachemical power that perhaps that drains investiture at range he could possibly use that to become more deadly and drain investiture at a distance , brutal . But most metalminds are useless for nightblood because he is a sword , unless it’s a cognitive type ability.
  20. Since the first 3 titles are all based on books , that brings an interesting problem because the Singers don’t write books . Their history is all passed down thru songs. I too really like Rhythem of the lost . But if we want to get rid of x of y book titles you only have to reverse it . The lost Rhythms which is a lot more accurate to what’s happened to the listeners!!!
  21. Good point about the cost of powers , I didnt See one at first either . However there is a cost , just not one you can immediately quantify . The cost is one’s personal peace . The use of powers causes Epics to turn evil . How is that for a cost!!! Only by gifting them can they avoid it
  22. I admit I have only comepleted books 1 and 2 . Perhaps book 3 will provide something that will change my theory . But , it seems to me that it would be simple to add this trilogy to Cosmere. In my opinion Calamity is similar to a shard. The gifted abilities are like investiture granted by shard. All we would need is for him to write era 2 reckoners , create a perpindicularity , and have Hoid visit for some Unkown reason and Tada , Reckoners is part of Cosmere . Why do we need this . For a long time I avoided this series’s because it wasn’t cosmere. Big mistake as it is very good and feels the same . What do u guys think. Would you like to see the reckoners join the cosmere
  23. Thing about WoB is Sanderson tends to say one thing at one time , then contradict himself later on . He says that WoB could be the current ideology but until it’s written in a book it’s not cannon . A perfect example of this is when he said aluminum was capable of blocking a shardblade and then said it wasn’t . Anyways I think they do have several innate abilities . Perhaps he meant they had no innate surges!! Immortality is innate ability , the fact they do not need sleep , the fact they change their appearance according to how they feel are all innate. And then there are benifits to being 4000 years old . Nale has been an investigatitor for millennia’s , just imagine how masterful he is at detective work and interrogation . It’s on a level to surpass Batman times 10
  24. During my recent reread of Oathbringer, I came across the section where Jasnah confronts Ash. Ash was reeling from the death of Jezrien, and it said for the first time in 1000 years Ash feel unconscious . This got me to thinking how different the heralds actually are. At first I thought heralds were normal humans without there honorblades . But they have deeper abilities that make them intriguing . For one. They do not require sleep as we discovered from Ash . They are immortal . When Honor was alive they had a direct conduit to him and didn’t require stormlight. I’m not sure if that persist to this day or if Dalinar can fuel them as Honor representative. But just the fact that they are thousands of years old and don’t require sleep is amazing. Think of this they could theoretically. Master several skills over that length of time . Become surgeons , scholars , metalsmiths for example and have had long enough to prefect the skill to a level of mastery to surpass anyone alive. They also have some level of control of their physical appearance . Jezrein appeared as a feeble old man, but I’m sure if he wanted to he could make himself appear younger and in physically fit shape. Taln reflexes were so fast he could snatch an assasins blow darts out the air . So I imagine it would take a significant overwhealming force to defeat one if the herald had his honorblade and a source of stormlight. Any other observations about the Heralds you guys want to add?? I imagine with 1000 of years to practice their. Surges they know tricks no one else knows .
  25. I was always under the impression does not speak outload ! It speaks to his weilder telepathically . When Vasher held him he never spoke to Vivienna. I assume he spoke to Vivienna when she carried him ! So how does lift communicate with him/it. She has never welded him and I’m assuming she hears his thoughts in her mind . Any thoughts ? I was thinking it was part of her Boon/curse. One of her lesser known benefits is she can touch Wyndal . But I think it’s that. She exists partially in cognitive realm !
