Ok we know that the Heralds are cognitive. Shadows! Upon death they return to Braise (damnation). This time the other Heralds felt him die! His soul either passed thru the Cognitive realm into the beyond ; Or, it was destroyed. So the sapphire acts as a gateway to the beyond, or it acts as destroyer of the spirit web. I Theorize the effect is similar to what happens when the Fused take over a Singers body and destroys the Singers cognitive self. I know want to see it as simular to Hemalurgy . Perhaps it is , the part where Hemalurgy rips away a part of the spirit web , but I see no gain on it to benifit Moash!

“ I’m better than that sword” Considering pure destructive ability of Nightblood I think it is right . Still the surge of Division scares me ; As you so aptly put concerning Gravitation , Nale has 4000 years to practice what to do with it . I can see Nale melting flesh off bones. Szeth is my favorite character and I just can’t see him taking Nale by himself . ( Nightblood or no) . Seriously ? That would be a short following : consider this part “Looks like we’re cornered, the sword said. Time to fight, right? Accept death, and die slaying as many as possible? I’m ready. Let’s do it. I’m ready to be a noble sacrifice” Excerpt From Oathbringer Brandon Sanderson https://itunes.apple.com/us/book/oathbringer/id1198279804?mt=11 This material may be protected by copyright. this actually my favorite quip from Nightblood . But it shows perfectly what would happen if Szeth chose to follow it. -
gemhearts The Ecology of Roshar
SzethIsBadAsHell replied to SzethIsBadAsHell's topic in Stormlight Archive
This is exactly what I was looking for.i Believe you are correct as it seems the creatures with gemhearts have spren that trail behind them when they move. Rashadium spren fly behind them, chasm fiends have strange spren floating behind them etc. Anyways my point is not all gemhearts will be harvested . Some creatures will die and have there gemhearts inside. We know Listeners don’t touch There dead . So what I’m getting at if someone was to dig thru crem to find decomposed corpses their will Be gemhearts all in the soil. What effect this has on plantlife can only be speculated but I know the grass moves to avoid being eaten by horses. -

Some of the strongest commentary is between Nale and Szeth , who is also insane imo : “Aboshi … may I ask you a question?” “Law is light, and darkness does not serve it. Ask, and I will answer.” “I know you are great, ancient, and wise,” Szeth said. “But … to my lesser eyes, you do not seem to obey your own precepts. You hunted Surgebinders, as you said.” “I obtained legal permission for the executions I performed.” “Yes,” Szeth said, “but you ignored many lawbreakers to pursue these few. You had motives beyond the law, aboshi. You were not impartial. You brutally enforced specific laws to achieve your ends.” Excerpt From Oathbringer Brandon Sanderson https://itunes.apple.com/us/book/oathbringer/id1198279804?mt=11 This material may be protected by copyright. They don’t seem pragmatic or logical, It’s terrifying because it’s so Honost. Nale is not delusional . He knows his mind is untrustworthy yet he follows it anyway . For a second I thought Szeth was going to follow Nale. I believe Szeth gains a redemption point for realizing Nale is batshit and Choosing to Follow Dalinar. If they ever clash in battle , That is going to be titantically scary! -

I was referring to matters I read today in WoR so I didn’t consider the answers would be in Oathbringer. Anyways I’m telling there is some good good about the Listners and what forms they have ,which are malen and femalen etc. I should finish my research in a few days. It has me excited about Eshonai book when I wasn’t looking forward to it -

[OB] Speculation on Azure and Zahel
SzethIsBadAsHell replied to ScarletSabre's topic in Stormlight Archive
She never said who it was. From memory she said “ I came here chasing a criminal, a thief” I think she implies strongly it’s vashur/zahel . But what if when she told Kaladin that she was looking to meet up with his sword master it was to throw us off. What if she is chasing “ yesteel” and is mad at Zahel for not helping ? I always wondered why Vashur doesn’t have Nightblood ? What if the simple answer is Nightblood would draw too many questions . He can’t pretend to be a seordmaster with a blade like Nightblood! -
gemhearts The Ecology of Roshar
SzethIsBadAsHell replied to SzethIsBadAsHell's topic in Stormlight Archive
No problem sir, will never happen again. Never tried to imply you had inherent wisdom. Point is having access to same info as you, you usually have a point of view different than mine. It’s logically sound, and most importantly it’s usually a take I wouldn’t have thought of. I consider myself a pretty sharp fellow. So if I think your comments are worth listening too , I call that person a sage. I certainly never intended to offend anyone. And I’m not the type to mock anyone. I’m a guy who loves this books probably as much as you do. Not many people I hang out with have an interest in fantasy. So all day I sit up an analyze these books, cause it what I’m greatly interested in. Thanks for your viewpoint on the ecology. I didn’t know why the Parshendi wanted those gemhearts for. I always thought they didn’t have soulcasters. And, I thought a gemheart was to expensive to use as a foci for a spren bond. Are you implying they cut the gemheart into smaller gems to use as foci for spren bonds to change forms? If so that makes a lot of sense. Also I was rereading WoR today. Eshonai flashbacks have a ton of stuff in them about the forms, Malen , Femalen etc. I’m going to edit my other post when done. I’m almost positive there is a clue in there that not all forms of power come from Odium. I want to see if you agree. Anyways , my apologies again if I offended you, won’t happen again. -
gemhearts The Ecology of Roshar
SzethIsBadAsHell replied to SzethIsBadAsHell's topic in Stormlight Archive
Perhaps your right , I didn’t hear much about plants . They are the least described thing in the series . Nice idea about ecology though . Probably spot on. -
Has anybody thought about the ecology of Roshar? I notice we have a number of new species . From chasm fiends , axehounds, chull, great shells of the Reshin, and even the Rashadium. I notice the lack of avians, bears, great cats, etc of course but that’s not what interest me. In real life we have 5 creatures we can’t live without earthworms , ants , plankton, bats and lastly bees. All play a part In fertilizing the ground , to increasing the yeald of plantlife, to spreading air and spreading seeds. Without these creatures human beings would die off. The ecology of Roshar seems to revolve. Around Gemhearts. How I can’t seem to workout. Just think about it , what do the Parshendi need with gemhearts ? They don’t sell them, they don’t need them stormlight because they haven’t been Radiants . The only use I can see is a type of lantern. But they sure fought the Alethi for them . what creatures would cause life on Roshar to end if they were not present ? Therre is not much plant life described yet other than Rockbuds. The strange grass that can move and hide under the ground. Like what is the constant that life on Roshar ? Using our blueprint earth , water, plants, air , carbon monoxide . Do we have enough to posit what Roshar system is ? I’m interested to hear what @Calderis and @RShara and some of you other sages have to say ? I hope u find this as interesting as I do !

Exactly but he saw a 30 year old transgression ! Most people involved in that incedent should be old or dead, it seems a supernatural ability . A Divination of sorts . I understand Skybreakers don’t have this ability ! I don’t want to limit the clever dodge but that doesn’t mean Nale doesn’t have that ability. -
[OB] Cusicesh, the 3rd Bondsmith Spren?
SzethIsBadAsHell replied to Bigmikey357's topic in Stormlight Archive
Can Yelg-nar manifest in more than one gemstone ? Do the unmade have a type of Bondsmith that can’t imsert Yellgnsr inside a gemstone? Is Yelgnsr only a temporary host ? Meaning Like does he take over a body and burn the body out within a few days , then must find another host. I think Yelg-mar is more dangerous at first glance than Sja-Amat as he grants access to all surges ?- 62 replies

I think the fact that he killed a man who only transgression was he delivered some wine that was unknowingly poisoned is scary. The man literally helped homeless kids for free! Nale is beyond insane ! He is a major phallus, tto lack a better term -

Nale is not just a Skybreaker ! He is one of the 5th ideal. He literally becomes the Law. He is also the Herald of this order. This happened 30 years ago ? How could he detective that far back ? It just seems scary ! -
So during Jasnah Flashback In WoR .she hears a commotion and goes to investigate. She passed an unkown man talking To Nale . The man first mentions Ash “I’m worried about Ash.” “You’re worried about everything.” Jasnah hesitated in the hallway. “She’s getting worse,” the voice continued. “We weren’t supposed to get worse. Am I getting worse? I think I feel worse.” Excerpt From Words of Radiance Brandon Sanderson https://itunes.apple.com/us/book/words-of-radiance/id717847678?mt=11 This material may be protected by copyright. so this guy is a Herald , we know the other is Nale. Then he references Szeth ; and u know I love all things Szeth. “Shut up.” “I don’t like this. What we’ve done was wrong. That creature carries my lord’s own Blade. We shouldn’t have let him keep it. He—” Excerpt From Words of Radiance Brandon Sanderson https://itunes.apple.com/us/book/words-of-radiance/id717847678?mt=11 This material may be protected by copyright. Szeth carried Jezriens Honor blade and I feel that the creature is him Soooooo , Who is this Herald ? We know it’s not Taln ? We know it’s not Jezrien ! I’m thinking this is Kalak ? Thoughts ? Interesting fact Nale and him are both invited by Ehlokar .Could it be Ishar the god King of an area near the Aziz?

In an Interlude Nale encounters Ym. He says I had to look real hard to see your transgression . Which implies Nale can see past transgression like a divination ability. This may be a resonance? Or it may be a function of the 5th ideal . But it appears Nale can look at someone and divine a transgression from the past. As a Skybreaker Law is his province. So if this is not how Nale knew of Ym transgression how else could this be! Let’s discuss this !

“My other arm the one that was cut off long ago , eaten by a fearsome beast , is making a rude gesture at you right now. I thought you should know so u can prepared to be insulted” And as he tried to teach Rua his spren to make a rude gesture “ No Rua your other finger...Rua , that’s your foot” are my favorite lines by my man The Lopen! You cant get much funnier than that!

ghostbloods (OB) what Ghostbloods want with ....
SzethIsBadAsHell replied to SzethIsBadAsHell's topic in Stormlight Archive
I think they are positioning themselves to take control after the war . Let’s say Odium wins, he is freed . He splinter cultivation. Then leaves and the few humans and Singers left form nations out the rags . The ghostbloods step forward as established heirarchy ready to take control -
This was the strangest transition for me as. Well . Dalinar and Adolin and by default Jasnah ( only because she is Gavilar oldest child and I assume she respected her father greatly ) spent the last 6 years hating the Assassin in white. He comes up and says I serve Dalinar Kholin and no one bats an eye??? Dalinar changed his whole personality behind the death of his brother . This confrontation should of been a bit more passionate than that. Even if they waited until the threat of Amaram’s army had passed . As soon as that was over I expected a Szeth “ u got sum splaining ta dooooo” was anybody else let down by this non-confrontation . Kaladin is probably the last person Jasnah would worry about . Even though he holds the rank of Captain , he is more like the 1st Seargant of the army. He is most comfortable leading troops and has zero ambition for political power. Amaram ,before he died and possibly Thadekar are more the type of personality that Jasnsh would be most on guard for ! And u saw first hand how she handled Amaram. The scene with her glowing hand facing down Amaram still gives me shivers ( what was she going to turn him into ? A pile of feces) . No my friend Kaladin is the wrong personality type. There is not a better man to trust guarding the Royal family.

ghostbloods (OB) what Ghostbloods want with ....
SzethIsBadAsHell replied to SzethIsBadAsHell's topic in Stormlight Archive
That’s interesting ! I thought all the unmade were his creations . I still think the Ghostbloods are way more dangerous than they appear. They make the Set look like school children imo. I’m not sure why Shallan hasn’t told Dalinar about them yet, she has her brothers back now! The Harlem Worldhoppers theory is intriguing . And it has some merit. After all Renarin is proof that u can still bond a corrupted spren and his powers may be greater than other truthwatchers ( if he is a. Truthwatcher). It’s interesting to know what his ideals are or if he has to have any? Could there goal be Radiants not bound by Oaths . Dangerous , very dangerous . Especially since surgebinding Is predicted to destroy Roshar , what would happen is Radiants didn’t have to be restricted by ideals? -

SzethIsBadAsHell replied to SzethIsBadAsHell's topic in Stormlight Archive
Yes but the point was that Eshonai flashbacks would give us those answers . If she encountered Timbre while In warform then we will know for a fact I’m wrong. But if she encountered her after Stormform then I could be right . Ulim spoke of Eshonai with Derision saying her transformation was not done correctly . I think Timbre was There and stopped the anger spren from taking control . But we will see . And it definantly will give us answers . I like Eshonai better than Venli anyways ! -

SzethIsBadAsHell replied to SzethIsBadAsHell's topic in Stormlight Archive
Well Eshonai was in the process of bonding Timbre. So that will tell us if she could do that before she adopted Storm form or not . Also the flashback could be discussions about ancient times or beliefs the Listeners had .
