  1. Venli also appears to be heavily influenced by something. Eshonai even takes note of the fact that her sister's personality doesn't seem to have changed much when she takes Stormform. As to her actions, I think it was more about who she could reasonable expect to accept the form rather than, say, Zuln heading out in the Everstorm and coming back in Warform instead of Stormform. I think she was minimizing resistance by grouping the unwilling together and denying them ANY change, lest they mount resistance with a known form.
  2. A Speed Bubble and a Slow Bubble will cancel each other out like a Venn Diagram, since one bubble is bigger than the other. Multiple Bubbles of the same type will compound the effect and double. Now to bring up Kurkistan's Thread(as that's our source of these WoB's): The above is from The One Who Connects's post here http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/59120-do-bendalloy-and-cadmium-bubbles-stack/
  3. Kelsier needs to lead the crew in a modified Do You Hear the People Sing. surely this isn't necessary but Mistborn Era1
  4. WoK ch 6 I'm not exactly sure how that would work in both directions... guess you take a different path back.
  5. My idea was more that Nightblood somehow learns how the investure was filtered when he takes it. The investure he takes isn't actually used to perform the abilities, but he can now mimic for his wielder the abilities he has encountered. I agree that it's not likely.
  6. I'm not in a position to hunt WoB at the moment. Drabs cannot return, so a Returned that gives up their breath won't come back. As for your actual question, if they die without healing someone, I would think that it would be up to Endowment's discretion since she seems to hand pick who returns.
  7. First I've heard of it. Possible I suppose. Not sure how a group associated with creation give themselves to destruction though. Rlain tells us their gods were Those ancient who gave themselves to destroy But of course there are only three Dawnate languages. Not sure how to explain Shin in that group though. I shall have to research. edit: ooooh I'm wrong. Kabsal (unreliable possibly) Says they didn't create things. They were "healers, kindly spren sent by the Almighty..." I'm officially on board with the theory for now, evidence lacking as may be.
  8. where on Roshar did that theory come from???
  9. I just stumbled across this and thought I'd add it here It feels like Brandon slipped here and let us know that the Highstorms match one of the Rhythms of Roshar. Likely the one that they all become during the changing. If this is true, it seems likely that the Everstorm would correspond to a similar beat. Meaning that there is some variance in the short term, but should be predictable long term.
  10. I can't find anything to disprove this directly, but I seriously doubt it. The Rhythms are spiritual in nature. The Parshendi existed before the shards arrived and were (presumably) already bonding lesser spren, which requires singing their songs (by their tradition. Whether or not it's an "actual" requirement, I'm not sure we can say) We do, however, have a WoB that seems to indicate that the Highstorms occur to something like a rhythm. So I think the Rhythms of Roshar have always been there before the Unmade
  11. yeah, that is true. I find the shard theory to be more likely, though, because I don't think based on our current information that the ghostbloods as a whole are as cosmere aware as some of the individual members are. There are in-world references that tell us that folks are/were aware that there were three "gods". The most prominent of which is Dalinar's vision where he was Heb. Heb's wife uses "Three gods" as an exclamation. My theory loses a significant amount of credibility if Mraize turns out to be Thaidakar. A possibility created by the idea that Mraize is just a title. I'm not sure if that's been confirmed or not. And yes, I know Mraize tells someone to send information to Thaidakar, but it's possible that someone like Mraize would hide his identity from his own organization. Just a wild theory that came to me while thinking about this thread.
  12. Iyatil appears to have been born at Silverlight to parents from Not sure necessary: Mraize is Thaylen I do think that we need to know Thaidakar's status before we can say that the whole organization is cosmere wide. Thaidakar is known to several Roshar natives making me think he is either native or has been there a long time. Then of course there's the symbol of the Ghostbloods which seems to correlate to the three shards of Roshar. Thaidakar aside, I get the impression that Mraize is worldhopping on his own time http://www.theoryland.com/intvmain.php?i=1097#20
  13. They do use the Rhythm of peace to keep time. I don't think the higher forms can ignore rhythms entirely though, like dullform can
  14. umm. okay. Having read that thread previously, that's not even close to what I got from it...
  15. Can Dullform sense the rhythms or not? I've seen a lot of comparisons between them and Slaveform where people seem to think they can't. I know on my first read-through of the books, I thought they couldn't and Coppermind also says they can't. Re-reading WoR though, I'm getting mixed signals. I-4: Last Legion: then I-11: New Rythms I put this in the Oathbringer spoiler board because of the prologue. It seems to indicate that the Parshendi assumed the Parshmen were stuck in dullform, but still expected them to have rhythems It seems to me that dullform CAN speak to the rhythms, but generally doesn't. This leads me to another question: Can other forms ignore the rhythms? I assume not or they wouldn't have assumed dullform to escape their gods.
  16. Is this the one you're thinking of? I couldn't find the primary source. It was quoted here http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/60677-parshendi-language-connection/
  17. I don't agree with your described cause, but I like the general idea. I wonder if Nightblood absorbs investure from different Radiants if he could then grant their surges. Possibly for a limited time.
  18. I find it extremely unlikely that the fabrial did anything between him putting it on and then taking it off after a walk to the training room and a short conversation. Particularly, again, without ever having been activated. I'm more in favor of stormlight healing. Yes, he's held stormlight frequently, but he's always had physical wounds at the time. There's still explaining to do for this solution. Not sure how the numb hands are relevant, but they're not like a shardblade. shard-severed limbs can't be felt at all. Reference the first fight with Szeth and its aftermath. And Dalinar's injury isn't necessarily Spiritual in nature. Per other Nightwatcher curses, it should be Cognitive. I think there's something else going on. I don't at present find either of these theories terribly convincing.
  19. Additionally, Hemalurgy as we know it is Ruin's magic. We know that Mistborn S1 happens before WoK proper, but how long before? Enough that Taln would have some way to be familiar with the system before his most recent 4.5 millennia imprisonment? I also think there's a WoB that the Heralds don't/can't leave the Roshar system, but I may be mis-remembering. So if he was aware of it, someone would have had to bring it to him.
  20. In that same chapter, Shallen reads Jasnah's notes about the line in the epigraph. "The word Desolation is used twice in reference to their appearance..." Is Jasnah's note about that book in the context of her discussion of Voidbringers
  21. We have another WoB that there is a Kandra worldhopper which would satisfy the question in your WoB. I'm sure there are other things happening out there, but I wouldn't jump at the explicit use of the word "spike". I'm quite sure it will be more subtle than that.
  22. Need to at least read the other two threads provided. This conversation should probably be moved to one of them. I would ascribe to this theory more if he had used the thing at any time or was even wearing it at the time his memories recover...
  23. "Their appearance" is in relation to the Voidbringers whom Jasnah is researching, not the Desolations
  24. I don't really see this as problem. Yeah I'll start back at the beginning when I actually get the book, but seeing something familiar in the beginning gets me back into the world faster. It's the same reason I read the previews of other books that most series include at the end. Granted this is a significantly larger preview than one would normally get.
  25. This has indeed been touched on. She doesn't introducer herself as a Dustbringer. Dalinar is the one who tells us her order and he says Releaser. From all this we can see that Malata never introduced herself as a Dustbringer. I imagine that she probably introduced herself as a Releaser, then when Dalinar looked at her funny, she gave an exasperated sigh and explained that her order is commonly known as Dustbringers. Then when recognition dawned on his face, she probably explained that her spren told her that they don't like being called Dustbringers.
