  1. Wasn't thinking about what thread I was in lol Yes, I believe somewhere it says he was 20 when he bonded Oathbringer, so not too long after that here. I'll see if I can find the actual reference WoK ch13 "...bonding to it when he was twenty weepings old"
  2. Dalinar is "in his fifties" per WoK ch69
  3. he claims to know both his curse and boon. I would have expected less surprise if he knew to expect this someday.
  4. I feel like Dalinar would have noticed if his Brother in Law drastically changed appearance and became a swordmaster ardent.
  5. Odium has shattered at least three shards besides Honor from Roshar. Devotion and Dominion on Sel (confirmed in Roshar section of Arcanum Unbounded) and then another Shard I think it's been confirmed that the other shard was Ambition maybe and that it didn't take place on a world. So Odium is currently the biggest bad we know about. There is another Shard causing trouble, mostly on Scadrial, who is currently going by "Trell" This is largely theorized to be Autonomy. I've chased a lot of WoB today, so I'm not gonna hunt more on this right now, sorry. Will try later if someone else doesn't beat me to it.
  6. Several relevant WoB. The gist is that Highstorms have always been a part of Roshar, so the ecology has always been more rock based, but you're on to something about the continent breaking down and reforming.
  7. Not exactly sure what that question means sorry I assume they're referring to Brandon using "non-canon" items. But aether is canon, just not the origin for it that we know. It's from here: https://www.reddit.com/r/brandonsanderson/comments/2pmipr/found_this_in_regards_to_plans_for_the_cosmere/
  8. 1. Can Parshendi release their current spren bond without taking another? 2. Do Parshendi born to the free Listeners have a bond when they are born? If 'no' are they dullform or something we haven't seen? 3. Can a shard de-invest a planet or once they have committed power is that power unrecoverable? (I'm essentially wondering if Odium has to destroy Roshar in order to free himself with all of his power intact but would expect a RAFO for that) 4. Can Knights Radiant hear/interpret the Listener rhythms? Can other Roshar races? 5. Were the Listener songs really compiled by the Last Legion themselves or were they provided by someone else?
  9. I agree 30ish years is probably not a long time for an Amian. What if they weren't watching Dalinar then, but Gavilar? We know he had started being more introspective at this point and we know (strongly suspect?) he had the visions before Dalinar did. They would know of Dalinar's actions that way.
  10. Not strictly related to the topic, but I have headcanon that the Dustbringers are KR Special Forces and may ALWAYS be pulled from other orders. This must be what I was thinking of So that pretty clearly indicates that Shallash can be the flashback character for the Dustbringer book but not actually be a Dustbringer herself. Same for Eshonai. She doesn't necessarily have to become a radiant even by this WoB.
  11. Well, like I said, I thought we actually had a WoB that said that. I may be wrong. It is "assumed" because, if Eshonai is a Willshaper, then all of the currently planned flashback characters ARE of different orders except for Shallan and Shallash, hence the idea that Shallash becomes a Dustbringer.
  12. I thought we had WoB to that effect. Do we not? Was why I was hunting a particular thread...
  13. I can't find the thread where this was discussed. It is theorized that Eshonai is the Willshaper due to her peronality matching their traits. Which leaves Shallash being the Dustbringer, since we have WoB that ll orders will be represented and we know she's a planned PoV character. still hunting links. It was recent and I didn't expect it to be this hard to find edit: not the one I was looking for, but I think it has the relevant information. It's on the Oathbringer Spoiler Board, though.
  14. So, obviously, a couple weeks ago we got a Dalinar flashback where it is implied that he might have killed a child to get his Shardblade. I was re-reading Edgedancer yesterday and a line caught my attention. Edgedancer I realize it's probably too soon to say, but I'd like to know if this is just an analogy that was pulled from the air or is it possible that our watchers from the book blurbs have been watching for THAT long and this is actually relevant information...
  15. So you think she found a Riran willing to lie about being her brother then? Golden hair is a known Riran trait. I really doubt Vivenna's appearance will be as central a figure as Evi is likely to be
  16. Excellent. I think this is the third thread I've discussed this in. @Calderis Thanks a lot
  17. Yes, that is the one I was looking for. I looked again and still don't see where the first thread you linked confirms it. Several people state it as fact, but no one provides a source. I have no reason to believe it's Frost specifically, really. 1. I have yet to read Dragonsteel. not that it makes a difference since it's not canon 2. Everyone seems to assume it's Frost, but no one ever gives satisfactory evidence. It's WoB where he didn't deny it was Frost when the name was used in the question or it's a question about dragons and such. I've seen nothing that points specifically to a certain individual. Doesn't mean it's not out there; just that people seem to be taking it for granted and no longer sourcing.
  18. I was looking for the original one that let's us know canonically that he's from Yolen. I don't see it there or in the thread linked by that OP. The actual question in the one I was looking for is "Are there still people on Yolen" and the response was something like "Hoid sent a letter to someone there, so yeah"
  19. Hoid is not a shard. He was present at the shattering of Adonalsium and was offered one of the shards, but he turned it down. http://theoryland.com/intvmain.php?i=1123
  20. I thought it was stated somewhere in Eshonai's story that Slaveform had no bond and that distinguished it from Dullform that had an incorrect bond. I may be wrong. I had this thought also. It would fit well with what the stormfather tells Dalinar during the battle at the end of WoR
  21. It is "confirmed" by the Stormfather when he's talking to Dalinar at the end of WoR not sure how this relates to the theory other than the Stormfather seems convinced Odium's spren will affect the change.
  22. yeah, until given evidence to the contrary (likely next Tuesday) I choose to believe that he can only remember Evi when he is actively holding stormlight.
  23. Information about this is readily available on the Coppermind https://coppermind.net/wiki/Letters#The_First_Letter We know Hoid's correspondent is a Dragon http://www.theoryland.com/intvmain.php?i=1067#2 and is on Yolen (can't find WoB at the moment) It is believed to be Frost from Dragonsteel.
  24. There are at least two Alethi women we have seen eat "men's food", Ialai and Shallan. It's safe to assume Jasnah has and I suspect Navani trying it is also a safe assumption. As well as any ardents anywhere, but none of them have currently been prominent enough I wouldn't think. Is there any possible way it's Kadash? Currently he's still devout, but that could be changing. Additionally, he was the one that told Adolin that additional ardents were going to train on their soulcasters. If he was one of them, he might glimpse or have already glimpsed Shadesmar.
