  1. Also 22. Can't drive. Buses are enough for now.
  2. Twilight Princess:
  3. Ok, either we've been seeping stereotypes your way or the other way around because that's a lot like Mexico. Disregarding the fact that we all speak Spanish and that half the population is Mexican for obvious reasons, all of our food actually is really spicy, seriously, it's kind of dangerous. We do drive like crem, you have to look both ways before crossing a one way street just in case, and I lived in a city once that had a saying. "Those who drive in Cuauhtémoc can drive anywhere in the world". And that was a freaking small town. Imagine the big ones. We can't stand the cold. I mean, there are some rebels like me who prefer it, but if we go below 20 Celsius you already have people complaining about the cold. And egos, well, we have an entire meme category about how we're better than everyone. Though that may be the case for every country but, Idk, it kinda fits.
  4. Oh storms. And then Frederick starts eating his own ration of bear meat at top speed because, as much as he may hate it, he's too intimidated by this foul mouthed 13 year old.
  5. Finished my Through the Looking-Glass reread. My goal in life is to develop an internal monologue on Alice's level.
  6. I'm part of that small but loud group that ships Ochako with Katsuki because of that single scene. Sadly it fits with the name of the thread. While we're at it, you know Melissa from the first movie? The amount of chemistry between her and Izuku during that short hour and a half was going through the roof. But movies aren't canon as far as I know so there goes that one too. I like Zuko X Katara, at least more than Aang X Katara. Not necesarily more than Zuko X Mai though. Now, I never do crossover ones but now I'm interested in the idea. I'll think about it, see if I can come up with something. Well, if we're talking friendships, for some reason I really wanna see Lift meeting Lissa from FE Awakening. There's nothing in particular to make it special, I just think their interactions would be interesting.
  7. Saving for a Switch right now. I need to speed run the first two games so I can be there when Sen IV comes out on Switch. Wish I had more time a day.
  8. Sometimes? I'm not a big fan of having one but I also am very lazy, so I usually end up letting it grow for like a month before bothering to do anything about it. A month's not enough to have a signature mustache but it's something.
  9. The day this thread was created I was like "Oh, I should really post there, but not right now, I need to have time." Welp, here I am now, hating myself. But it fits, I'm always late. Anyway, let's see. I joined the Shard on a whim I think. I had just read Elantris, was finding out about the Cosmere, and was on a googling spree trying to find out more about it when inevitably, one result was here. I barely knew anything about Brandon and I had no idea what one was supposed to do in a forum but I decided I had to join this one. Freaking great decision. Impact, well, I guess the fact that it's my favorite community period. When I think about people; people I like, people I'm afraid to have offended at some point, people I want to talk to more, people I find funny or smart or easy to talk to, I think about Sharders as much as anyone from real life. I know I am really reserved and rarely get actually talkative here and may seem somewhat cold at times, but please know that it's not on purpose and that I think all of you guys are awesome and I really appreciate every conversation I've had with all of you. The Shard has become a vital part of my daily life and that obviously can only be the case because of the people you can find here. Now, memories here. There are quite a few. I remember the confusion during my first Ookla season (which is almost here again, I can't wait), or that time I started a mini war about Jasnah, it's amazing how you can find an interesting debate at any time here, and those instead of devolving into shorter posts that are more insult than argument, grow longer with time, until each page of the thread can be considered a novella, it's amazing. Or discovering the interesting world of RPs. I always thought RPs were simple posts were you said something and included a couple of ** to describe your actions. Then I find here that you need to know freaking prose. That was mind blowing and extremely fun (and I should really get back to it, I'm just easing my way back into the Shard after a few weeks of lurking). And that's it I believe. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to actually read this thread which I should have done before posting.
  10. This time around I got the bonding with Crow on chapter 2 of Sen I. I'm so surprised by him innocently playing with the kids but also feel like I shouldn't be.
  11. Mistborn Era 3 or 4. I love the potential setting for Era 3 and I have the strange feeling it will become my favorite. The advantage of Era 4 though is that I can be a Radiant on a spaceship going to Scadrial, how cool would that be?
  12. Kelsier and Kaladin In case you don't know her, the artist has been making these for a few weeks and they are amazing. https://ko-fi.com/profetessaoscura
  13. Mexico: We eat tacos at every opportunity. This is true but it should be more true. Life has a sepia filter. Thankfully not. It's a desert. That's mostly true I think. I mean, we have like at least half the ecosystems on Earth but at least where I live there's just so much dirt. Everyone has a mustache. I mean, no but also yes. Everyone has the big hats. Not really, it would be pretty funny though. We curse at least once every sentence. False... it's at least twice or thrice every sentence.
  14. Granted, it can now be legally used by people with four legs. I wish to get rid of this cold.
  15. Finished Treasure Island. Didn't expect a book for children so it was an interesting surprise. My knowledge about children books of the time amounts to the Alice duology, so it's nice to see something like this. Didn't understand like half the language though. Speaking of Alice, I just reread Alice in Wonderland. What a good book, it's just fun and hilarious from beginning to end. Starting a Through the Looking-Glass reread while I'm at it.
  16. Guys, help. I started the free month on Prime Video and now I'm addicted to Community.
  17. Personally, I have a rather simple view on the topic. Killing is bad, but it's not the worst thing you can do. If a person has committed crimes before, a serial killer for example, do they deserve to be killed in exchange? No. No matter how improbable, and no matter how undeserving they may seem, a person's way of thinking is subject to change until the very moment they die and they deserve that chance. If they change, the challenge of doing good in a world where people don't let them even try to do good because they judge them based on their past will be punishment enough. However, if you're in a life or death situation and the only way to get out alive, or for your loved ones to get out alive, is by killing, protecting those lives should be your priority (including your own) and no one has a right to blame you for it.
  18. Wow, you guys had matches over 80%? My highest was 74%. Anyway, aside from numbers, I'm pretty happy with my results, filtering by story is also pretty fun. (sorry, got carried away there. If it messes with the loading of the page tell me and I'll delete them)
  19. Well, I'm in a weird spot, because I grew up with the movies, not the books. Now, I've called myself a Harry Potter fan since I was like 3, but I kind of distanced myself from the series around the time the PoA movie came out. Later when I was somewhere between 8 and 10 I read the fourth book, and I thoroughly loved it, it was such a shock to me to see just how much more detail it had. It's the reason I'm a fantasy reader now. I've always liked reading but as a kid it was only technical books for kids with random facts, but Goblet of Fire was my first actual novel. After that, I continued reading the series in no particular order for years until I finally read Deathly Hallows in high school. How does that translate into how I feel now? Well, I'm just finding out. I'm on my first full reread of the series, halfway through Goblet of Fire, and I must say, I'm enjoying it a lot more than the first time. I'm a better reader now than then, I'm better at picturing scenes in my mind (something I've always had trouble with) and I have better retention. So far it's been great, the first two books are somewhat clumsy but there's a charm in seeing just a bunch of kids acting like kids, saving the world in the process for some reason. After that it gets better, and I'll assume it just keeps going up (my memories of the last three books are somewhat fuzzy, which is a good thing). I would also call myself more of a Wizarding World fan than a Harry Potter fan at this point, but that obviously mean I love the original series. So, thinking like that and giving it the "You come back to something you loved as a kid. Is it better or worse?" test, I'd say this one is better now than then.
  20. I can move objects without touching them (when they're really light and filled with static) I can produce dangerous chemicals (not going into detail) I can extend a second to last several minutes (because time is perceived slower while dreaming) I generate heat constantly (just enough to keep me alive) I can stop entire invasions without even thinking (when the invasion is into my body and the invasor is a common cold)
  21. I think I got it, only a few more tries and half a dozen more visits to the hospital, don't you think? Yes, of course. Haven't done it in a while though. I became allergic to rice at some point.
  22. From what I've heard, what happens when you mix BotW, gacha mechanics, and a bunch of action combat playstyles. I've heard really good things about it, like the exploration is really good and that the gacha elements are non-intrusive, which is great considering it's free.
  23. I feel like that for all the books, but I get the gist. I have to disagree about Faile and Perrin, since they got together, the more they are on-page, the more convinced I am that they're the perfect couple. So what did you think about it? I personally found a bit strange how the ending was split into three climaxes but I liked it. It kinda shows how the scope is actually on its way to be the freaking biggest epic fantasy ever created that I was promised.
  24. Sure am. *takes a bite off a burger* TPBM knows where to get fairy dust.
  25. In defense of the magic system, yes, it doesn't make sense, but it doesn't need to. Brandon himself has addressed this. He thought magic needed consistent rules but later came to the conclusion that it depended on the story. Magic in Harry Potter has rules when the plot needs it and it doesn't when it only needs some fun or amazement. I kinda feel like Brandon has spoiled us a little bit. Since he created (I think he was the first one at least) the separation between hard magic and soft magic, it's like the general consensus is that only hard magic is good and worth reading, but there's plenty of soft magic still being written and it works just fine.
