  1. Well to be fair they were all killed by other Shards. (Except Honor I think, I can't remember it being explicitly confirmed that Odium killed Honor)
  2. It could be, my fluid mechanics is terrible so I'll have to defer to Chaos on this one. I still think the easiest way is to get a soulcasting fabrial and soulcast the ground under them into a liquid (blood I guess) then back into a solid, trapping them quite effectively.
  3. I'm really liking where this is going, someone whould make a theory on this so I can espouse it. I definitely like that part about the Oathpact, which is a possible explanation as to why the KR gave up, without that to bind them the spren began to start changing again and the KR may have been losing abilities? Not sure but there is definitely a lot of potential here.
  4. I'm thinking so, it could always be self caused or caused by an event rather than a being but my guess is on something of roughly equivalent ability. The question then is what happened to this being?
  5. That's a really good insight! I never made the connection about it possibly being honors focus.
  6. But spren can change their shape, so it could still be one. As for the tiredness thing I have a few theories but I think i'll work on them more before I post
  7. It doesn't just have to be observed, it has to be recorded, and that record would have to still survive. But yeah it could still be true, could have been initially recorded and stored by someone like the guy whose POV that scene was written.
  8. Not at all, speculation that is quite well backed up is fine, but saying that something could be true just because it isn't directly contradicted is fairly futile, there are an infinite number of possibilities for what Hoid is it could be that he is actually a dragon that just shape-shifted into human form and that in the cosmere dragons have inherent world-hopping abilities but there's no reason to believe that's actually the case (Also I was talking then about your theory on Szeth, the Parshendi and Taravangian.) Nothing at all wrong with that, but you do need to have some kind of justification, we don't know that being a sliver gives you any extraordinary abilities. As for how Hoid world-hops, there are plenty of others who do it, we even know two of them (Demoux and Galladon I think they were) so there's no reason to believe that he gained this ability by being a sliver.
  9. I don't see why Hoid needs to be a sliver of any Shard let alone 16, Vin was a sliver and there was barely any change to her (She was able to fully use the mists, that's it) It's possible, but so are plenty of other options, I just don't think there's enough information to say that it is even probable
  10. In fact I'm pretty sure it's been confirmed that he isn't a shard. I'd be dissapointed if he was anyway, I like thinking of him as more or less as strong as any of the other characters just quietly hopping and pulling strings, he doesn't need to be a Shard.
  11. Yes, but a reverse lashing is also a lot stronger than normal gravity most of the time, after all you wouldn't need to reverse lash to the wall if it was going to fall down anyway it's of variable strength I should think so yeah it could potentially reduce the splash quite a bit.
  12. Haha, good point, I'm still not entirely sure how a basic lashing works so I can't be sure but I still think someone with enough practice could probably pull it off, but this would still be effective against 99% of Windrunners Although if they used a reverse lashing I'm not sure how the oil would react to that, if they used a reverse lashing to draw it away in the first place, then even on shattering it might still stick to the ceiling/wall
  13. Hey since we've already gone out on such a limb to find references to what can be soothed/rioted why don't we compile a list here and I'll see if I can add it to the wiki somehow (probably as a seperate page so the pages for zinc/brass don't get to cluttered) would be useful to have especially for anyone interested in RP. Edit: Oh and to Odium, I've been thinking along similar lines to this but I haven't compiled a list on it but that looks great! you should make a thread for it!
  14. Still not sure how I feel about that as an explanation, it certainly makes sense but it doesn't explain why there are no feruchemists by itself, I'm sure that some of the terrispeople would have kept on interbreeding so we should have the occasional (albeit very rare) full feruchemist. I suspect that the sDNA for feruchemy was so weak now that it could only produce ferrings, and so actually the interbreeding with allomancers was a critical necessity as it mutated it enough for the sDNA to be able to manifest strongly as one power instead of not at all as 16. Hope that made sense to everyone.
  15. I think that since the time between books is so huge and that the events inside each series only comprise a few years, that the relative length of a year shouldn't matter too much, after all if the events take ~330 earth days that would probably just be rounded up to 1 year. Okay so I'll just try and make a timeline for each story and then a seperate timeline for when the events of each book occur (still not sure what to do with Elantris on that one, guess it will just be put before mistborn with an unknown time elapsing. Edit: Ok finally done, tried out splitting it into sections to include a timeline for each series, WoK, AoL and Warbreaker haven't been changed because I didn't have my books with me to check when everything happened, I'll add to it and put references in when I get the chance. (I hope that I didn't put too much info in on Elantris and Mistborn )
  16. Yeah, I was thinking that as well, personally I think that the breaking of the Oathpact works better as a year 0 but I thought I'd try it this way.
  17. My guess would be that like any cage match involving a Channeler, this will be solved with Balefire
  18. Yeah I'm just trying to get at least an estimate on Elantris but I can't find anything. Do you mind if I just re-write the entire format? Use Sazed's ascension as year 0 and work in both directions from there?
  19. I think that clearly this match should end by the Dark one interacting with preservation causing a reaction which destroys all other participants in the competition but preserves Kelsier and Moiraine forever.
  20. I have to agree with Chaos on this one, it's almost certainly based on wavefunction collapse probably with some realmatics thrown in. When we get all of the notes on these someday I am going to have the biggest nerdgasm
  21. Yeah they still don't tie in with the overall timeline yet. Ah well I'll keep trying but I suspect we'll have to wait until either stormlight 2 (If there are any more references to Sel) or more likely if someone asks
  22. Yeah could definitely work, I'm still a bit distracted at the thought of Szeth shooting essentially fireballs at people. Changing gravity has so many potential applications
  23. Well it is still better than universal annihilation.
  24. I'm not sure that burns would be enough, they can rapidly heal when given stormlight. Still it would probably distract him long enough to kill him some other way I guess so good idea Edit: actually on reflection depending on how much control they have over the basic Lashing they might be able to just send all of that flaming oil right back at you, if so I now officially want to be a windrunner more than any other magic user (other than possibly a mistborn feruchemist )
  25. Yeah that's what I meant, I read the AoL change as AoL was moved up to after WoK and Warbreaker stayed 'several hundred years before' WoK. So that would put HoA (300 years pre-AoL) at around the same time as if not later than Warbreaker, but yeah it depends on which was moved, WoK or AoL in regards to the timescale as a whole (I suppose the best origin would be the shattering but we have no idea when anything happened in regards to that ) Edit actually his reply to which chronology was correct Would indicate that WoK was moved relative to the others, AoL wasn't so that would put Warbreaker and Alloy and Kings all at more or less the same time... Hoid must have been busy
