  1. Ah thanks, I think I may have searched for it in the mistborn section by accident :S My first thought was Gaz, but then yea he seems kind of unimportant.
  2. Just reading over some interviews and I read mention of a 'mysterious death' in WoK that could apparently use some resources devoted to it, I couldn't find any threads on this so anyone got any ideas on this?
  3. I think shardplate would break any chain that would be practical to carry around, also a blade would cut it open easily so even if it did trip them up, you'd have to be very quick to take advantage.
  4. I think that aluminum either just wouldn't be affected at all by time bubbles (unlikely) or aluminum would be deflected just like everything else. The deflection is caused by weird changes in relative motion, not directly by an allomantic effect so I think aluminum bullets wouldn't help with the time-bubble problem While on that topic, does anyone know if we have an answer about wether or not you can push/pull outside of a bubble?
  5. Depends at what stage of technology we are at, if aluminum is common enough, just carry them in aluminum lined pouches. But yea, manual prepping is definitely a good idea.
  6. Coinnshot? oh wait wrong series I think the shardbearers still need to breathe so no they couldn't just close up the entire visor. On the heat thing, I think that the armour probably IS protected from heat, but your own body heat is still going to get trapped in there with you, so I think the best way would basically be to just imobilize them any way you can, then just wait for them to pass out from dehydration. Of course, suppose if you can imobilize them you could then just poke out an eye through their visor I think archers probably have the best shot, does anyone know if crossbow technology exists yet? Someone skilled enough to put multiple crossbow bolts in the same area might be able to shatter the plate, otherwise I think the safest route would be archers hoping they get a shot in through the visor. If we can use surges then I think Szeth and his multiple lashings to giant pieces of rock would be good, alternatively soulcasting the ground under them into a liquid, then back to a solid.

    Atium Alloys

Brandon has said that atium alloys grant various temporal abilities (i've heard that it can also be mental, but I'm not sure about that as the interview transcript I've seen just said temporal) I think that the reason it did that with malatium is that gold is already a temporal metal so it had to just have a slightly different effect. I've also read that there could be more than 1 atium alloy for each metal so maybe it's to do with the amount of atium in the alloy giving different effects. (as there would be no 'commonly known' atium alloys if people tried to experiment with atium they would basically just be guessing) Basically I think making gold external was probably just because gold is already a temporal metal.
  8. On the subject of grenades with an internal mechanism, the problem is that if they ever became commonly used then it would be suicide to go up against an enemy coinshot, either that or you'd just have to throw them as soon as you saw anyone who could be a coinshot (meaning anyone that you don't already know is a different misting) Although I suppose if you wrapped it in aluminum foil and then just took it off when you're about to use it...
  9. Ah thanks, I just remember that someone put that in the right up for a cage match with Kelsier and everyone got massively annoyed, then I thought about aluminum and realised they may actually be right. Is there a quote on that somewhere?
  10. I think the thing with Szeth probably has to do with it being difficult (impossible?) to lash someone wearing plate and Szeth does most of his awesome tricks by lashing himself. Presumably Windrunner Plate used to be able to be affected by the one wearing it (maybe everyone, as they probably didn't fight eachother much ) so yea I think it's basically because he's not actually a KR.
  11. No 1. Defense -Hemalurgic spike As soon as I read about aluminum being unaffected I could just see the foil hats coming, My problem is that in the next trilogy aluminum is going to be a LOT more common which could basically render Iron, Steel, Brass and Zinc completely useless unless someone can come up with a counter-counter. Also, slightly irrelevant but on the topic of aluminum. Silver, BS mentioned in an annotation somewhere that it was allomantically inert I assumed this meant that it had no allomantic power but the term 'allomantically inert' is I think also used in AoL about aluminums ability to block Iron/Steel and Brass/Zinc, so can Silver do that too? or do you think that he meant that it differently in the annotation?
  12. I think double steel is the biggest win, on the topic of mental speed I think that would have to increase proportionately as otherwise your motor skills would be severely hampered effectively rendering the speed useless, I think that the mental speed would be a side effect of storing physical speed, kind of like how a side effect of storing strength is storing mass (as was I think mentioned) so I think speed compounding is an epic win Oh also Awesome idea! Compounding duralumin (already mentioned) AND a soother, soother to combat your own feelings of empathy, MUCH better mind control (of course someone who compounds duralumin would need a ridiculously powerful soother to counter it, also the soother would presumably be in love with the compounder so that might effect their ability to do this, thoughts anyone?

    Atium Alloys

Ok, this is my first post but I've been reading these forums for weeks. Time to contribute! First off is a question, would you be able to have atium alloys of other alloys? Also as has already been stated an alloy is always a pushing metal so if you can double alloy (atium alloy of another alloy) would it then be pulling, pushing or some kind of double pushing :S Anyway as for my list, I tried to apply temporal effects as much as possible as atium itself seems primarily temporal. Iron: see future 'shadow' lines for nearby metals (where they will be) and can exert a time-delayed pull (pull on where they WILL be) Steel: As Iron but with a push Tin: Full sensory perception of the future, so hearing as well as just shadows alternatively more like a prophetic vision instead of a constantly moving image of the future around you. Pewter: Not entirely sure, Mental fortitude maybe? or just making you smarter? (would be awesome to combine with a zincmind.) Zinc: Portal to Shadesmar? Brass: Portal from shadesmar? not sure what else would work for these 2 other than time delayed riot/soothe (kind of useful for a longer effect maybe?) Copper: Create a coppercloud which is more like the time bubbles, only thing I could think of, so doesn't move basically or create a time-delayed coppercloud? Or possibly centre a coppercloud around someone else, protecting them from emotional allomancy. Bronze: Detect future pulses. Gold: Already known Electrum: Maybe as normal atium but see only 1 persons future, or maybe see their ultimate future? -This is the one that made me think it may not work to create a double alloy Bendalloy: Let everyone in your bubble see the future (group atium=Pure carnage, however also needs to be used tactically or enemies will also see atium shadows) Cadmium: Let everyone in your bubble see the past (group malatium? more likely group gold, good distraction for people who aren't prepared) (May have got Bendalloy and Cadmium the wrong way around, trying to think it through still) Aluminum: Time delayed Aluminum? or I really like the permanent destruction of allomantic ability, anti-lerasium Duralumin: Not sure, Understand a metals abilities better? instant-savant anyone? or I also like the permanent boost Chromium: As with Aluminum but for others Nicrosil: create savants? That's all i can think of for now.
