1. I just finished transcribing that, I really wish we'd had some more Mistborn questions, if only because we get a new Stormlight book much sooner than a new Mistborn novel
2. Right all done on the transcript resent the other one just in case there were a couple of annoying bits where multiple people were talking at once and that really irritating parts a couple minutes in where someone seemed to be mashing their keyboard quite loudly but I'm sure I got all of the important stuff
3. They still have the option to lash themselves away from the bolts in that case thought, but with a flaming projectile that could probably work quite well. Another thing I'm thinking is gas of some kind, even smoke would work well enough to distract them long enough to kill them some other way and a reverse lashing wouldn't be too effective either and only effective for as long as the lashing lasted
4. Oh one more idea, you can just insert the file into the title of the infobox, so something like this {{CharacterInfobox |name=Szeth-son-son-Vallano Looks a bit better than my last suggestion.
5. Yeah, I'll keep looking around and see if I can figure something out in the meantime. Edit: Actually what do you think of this just a blank entry in the column, better than having image showing up I'm sure that there's a better option but that's all I've found so far
6. Well you could change what the column says but that's about all I can think of I just played around a little til I got that, I'm sure Chaos could provide something much more useful
7. I just had an interesting thought, if someone was tapping Zinc and Copper (so either someone who has been spiked or a full feruchemist) Would their memories degrade faster because of the Zinc? because I was just thinking that more useful than giving them to another Archivist (who could have just had the old Archivist recite them) if you gave the spike to a Sparker (especially a double-zinc) just imagine what they could discover with that knowledge as well as vastly increased mental speed.
8. Just put something like this in the characterinfobox template doesn't have a default entry for images it seems.
9. Also from wikipedia Also ingesting it given such a high radioactivity would definitely cause some symptoms.
10. I offer a similar proposal, Hoid gave Adonalsium a riddle so complex that he had to fracture himself into seperate pieces of consciousness in order to figure out the answer
11. I'd say that it mostly depends on what the effect is, some of the Aons wouldn't really be able to have variable power, they'd either work or they wouldn't I think that most of these would probably not work, outside of that I'm not sure really what would cause some to not work at all, the only thing I can think of is that it needs a certain amount of power which is beyond the power of Elantrians without Aon Rao to produce any effect at all, for example the travel Aon requires a large amount of power to say convert a person into energy and back (Just inventing a possible way that it works) and it just requires a slightly larger amount of power to move over larger distances.
12. It's still cheaper than using it allomantically at least, could be a family heirloom or something?
13. I saw something while reading yesterday that I don't think has been mentioned so I thought I'd revive this topic Shallan mentions that Luesh said that it was easier to show how to use a soulcaster than tell how it is done, since we know that Kabsal mentions it in quite simplistic terms (tap a gem) that means that Luesh either didn't know how to use one or (more likely) was lying for some reason the only reasons I can think of are: 1. He was lying so that Shallan would have to give him the soulcaster which he would then simply steal (but it seems to me like he could have just stolen it almost as easily any other way) 2. He knows that it cannot be used because it is a fake but doesn't want Shallan to use it. (however in order to 'show them' how to use it he would then need to be able to soulcast by himself. 3. He only knew how the KR soulcast, not how an actual soulcaster worked but thought he might be able to work it out if he had one. Any other ideas?
14. Congrats Windrunner!
15. Welcome to the forums! and there's no such thing as being too chatty, particularly when the chatting is about theorising I've always wanted to work in a bookstore but I think i'd probably annoy the customers by talking for too long Hope to see more posts from you soon! ps. Watch out for the admins, they like to spike people give people delicious waffles and cookies.
16. Well we know that at least one of the magic systems was regionally bound so perhaps this grants a greater number of systems with each (or at least some) being tied to a region.
17. Well I wouldn't call your brain addled but I can't find anything on this if it has been that would be very interesting though. That has been sort of confirmed, the response was something along the lines of 'yeah, kind of' but considering the ambiguity in that response I think it's obviously not just the body focuses so there's still at least a part that we're not sure of. EDIT: found the quote
18. I have to go with windows all the way for the pure and simple reason that 90% of my computer usage is gaming. Also I like being able to troubleshoot my own computer and over the years I've gotten used to windows so I can fix most common problems, I tried troublehooting a mac once and it was one of the most frustrating experiences of my life (right after reading a book within hours of its release and then knowing you have to wait another year or so for the next ) I will say that that is almost entirely due to my inexperience with macs but I just don't have the time to get used to the system, maybe someday. I also have various linux distros on my legion of desktops and ubuntu on my laptop but that's mostly just because I always feel like some day I'm going to get used to it, I don't mind it but once again, gaming is my main use of my time so it's a bit limiting.
19. Do you need a full transcript? I'll take it. EDIT: Also did I send in my other transcript? I remember saying I would but I can't remember actually sending it
20. Yeah I just saw that too, first confirmation I've seen. I heard the question and thought it was a RAFO for sure. XD
21. I think that the other way would work pretty well too, Iron/Pewter so that you could store your strength to decrease your mass a little which lets you manipulate your pulls a bit more so you could more easily pull yourself towards people and then engage in melee combat.
22. I really like the tin/iron idea, the human sentry tower! Also I was thinking that if you had no problems with being naked or else finding some incredibly lightweight clothes and your ironmind was in the form of a cable then if you decreased your weight to 0 you would have continual levitation, you would be anchored to one spot because of the cable (unless you had someone holding it on the ground and running around human kites! XD) also if you kept it up for a while your stores of weight would be huge so you could conceivablly 100x tap weight for a second or two fairly often without having to worry about reserves.
23. Not necessarily, it could just have some genetic component, like allomancy.
24. That may be but even a difference of 6 degrees centigrade would result in pretty severe hypothermia with incredibly obvious symptoms (blue skin, puffy, numbness in the extremities, loss of balance and coordination) which we don't see, this may be because the stormlight buffers the bodies defences somewhat which I could probably accept in an instance as low as this but I think that this would be an absolute minimum temperature shock required to shatter a gem, something like a diamond can withstand much higher thermal shock than other gems and yet they too shatter. I'll have to do a bit of research and get back to you, I think it could be possible if all we had to go on were the gems you mentioned but if the temperature difference is high enough to fracture a diamond then I think it would still have some obvious effects. Now that I think about it it should probably mention somewhere in the book if one gem is more resistant then another, not necessarily but it's possible, I'll have a look through.
25. But that quote does kind of prove the point that he lashes things to specific points and not a direction, maybe it's just a personal thing and he needs it for a frame of reference but I think it more likely that he is basically just moving their spiritual connection with the earth to a different object that seems to make more sense given that a direction doesn't have a spiritual aspect (so far as I know) but objects do.
