  1. I picked up Way of Kings after reading Lord of the Rings. Managed the first chapter but could not get into it. I ended up buying Mistborn and rattling through the entire series. I thought I wouldn't be able to get back into WoK but I stuck with it and it's now my favourite fantasy series!!
  2. As good as RDR2 is, I found it sooooo overwhelming! I ended up playing Anthem and Sekiro which, although rich and visually brilliant, I felt I could focus more on. Might end up back at RDR soon but I'd need some time that I just don't have right now.
  3. Wax is a Ladrian so he is a descendant of Breeze which is something I just skimmed over until my read through.
  4. I read all the Cosmere after reading Mistborn Era 1, as soon as it hit after Way of Kings that there was this whole vast universe I had to reread and ended up doing Elantris, White Sand, Mistborn Era 1, Warbreaker, Stormlight Archive then the Arcanum and was picking up the dots!
  5. It sounds so obvious now but in The Final Empire Kelsier and Sazed have a chat about a new religion that Kell could follow and the following quote about the Valla was kinda obvious foreshadowing: "Oh, they had leaders. Dead ones, true, but leaders nonetheless" - "The loss of the Vallan leaders should have broken the people, not made them more determined to keep going" Sazed shook his head "Men are more resilient than that, I think. Our belief is often the strongest when it should be weakest. That is the nature of hope." Kelsier nodded. "...I just needed to be reminded there were people who fought even when things looked hopeless" Foreshadowing the end of the book and the Skaa's determination in the event of a certain major incident....
  6. If Brandon can make a character out of a stick, i'm excited what he can do with a dragon
  7. This is a tough choice. On one hand Mistborn got me right back into fantasy with a great array of characters, story and setting that could NOT be topped. On the other hand, Stormlight burst through and realised that Mistborn COULD be topped. It contains some of the best characters in writing and I'm excited for where it could go. SA>Era 1>Era 2 for me.
  8. I'd like to try and find this out myself but I can almost guarantee that some videos will be getting watched
  9. Sekiro is an absolutely gorgeous game. I loved Dark Souls and Bloodborne but always found them *too* hard. This has some difficulty but can find myself completely immersed in the fighting style of a shinobi. Dragonrot is an absolute nightmare though.
  10. Anyone been able to play Devil May Cry 5?? Love a DmC game but haven't played the last one!
  11. I really enjoyed this movie. It had great call backs to previous movies and the humour was top notch. Brie Larson was full of emotion and any movie with Sam Jackson is just a hit these days. Cannot wait for her character in Endgame.
  12. Some people currently have Oathbringer Parts 1 and 2 however our bookstore in the UK has it for release in August so I'm a bit confused as to how this happens. Oathbringer is, whilst a brilliant book, looking so out of place with it's bulkiness to the rest of my collection!
  13. I've been playing Anthem and, whilst it's a fun game, I've been thinking exactly that this is the closest to SA game we would get!
  14. Name of the Wind deluxe illustrated and Books of Earthsea. Absolutely gorgeous art.
  15. It can be a heavy price but if you're invested in the stories then it'll be a damnation treasure for you!
  16. It includes the main stories, short stories, footnotes and illustrations. Official notes: Contents: Introduction “Earthsea Revisioned” (a retrospective essay by the author) A Wizard of Earthsea The Tombs of Atuan The Farthest Shore Tehanu Tales from Earthsea The Other Wind “The Word of Unbinding” “The Rule of Names” “The Daughter of Odren” (never before published in print) "Firelight" (never before collected with other Earthsea stories; originally published in Paris Review Summer 2018)
  17. So I recently purchased Ursula Le Guin's illustrated Earthsea books which come in a beautiful binding with illustrations by the talented Charles Vess. A Wizard of Earthsea was the first fantasy book I'd read from start to finish and to have it all collected into 1 volume is great. Highly recommended series that isn't too long, the collection is about the size of Oathbringer, yet it still manages to cram as much fun, lore and magic that it excites you completely.
  18. Have currently just finished my re-read of Elantris and White Sand. First re-read of the entire series and am picking up little bits & pieces scattered throughout the Cosmere that I didn't before which is fantastic! Also currently reading some Paul Tremblay novels. The guy does horror so grittingly squeamish. A Head Full Of Ghosts is a masterpiece!
  19. So Brandon said we won't see it very often. Hopefully it happens but I'd much rather the Radiants work as a team and showcase their individual skills together.
  20. Ludo - Broken Bride : Boy meets girl, dragons, prehistoric furry creatures, and the zombie apocalypse: is a rock concept album. The story’s focus is Thomas Liridon, how he meets and falls in love with his wife Oriel (a radiant Gabrielle McClinton). Unfortunately, she dies of unspecified causes, and he bends the laws of space, time, and physics to bring her back. Forgive Durden - Razia's Shadow "The first half is the creation and ultimate division of the world. The second half is the story of destined love and the world being reunited as one." The Fueled By Ramen product page describes the album as follows: The album tells the story of a world divided in two by the selfish actions of a powerful and egotistical, yet insecure angel. After generations of darkness, the world is eventually brought back together by the love and sacrifice of a couple brave enough to fulfil their destinies. This album contains vocals from bands such as Saves the Day, Say Anything, The Matches, Portugal The Man and The Dear Hunter. The Dear Hunter - The Acts There are 5 acts currently out with a 6 being planned. The acts tell the story of a boy, or The Dear Hunter, born at the turn of the 19th century who will live a life of pain and meet an untimely death. Act I serves as a prologue to this story. ... The rest of the album revolves around the boy growing up and establishes his naivety/innocence. This band can do no wrong.
  21. The Brandonator.
  22. Well if I wasn't excited for Anthem before, I am now!
  23. I'd have to read it again. I'm now curious that I've missed this and never seen it. My guess would be a high spren.
  24. I did the following but it can be changed up: Elantris> Mistborn: The Final Empire> The Emperor's Soul> Mistborn: The Well of Ascension> Mistborn: The Hero of Ages> The Way of Kings> White Sand> Mistborn Era 2> Mistborn: Secret History> Warbreaker> Words of Radiance (Stormlight 2)> Shadows for Silence, Hope of Elantris, The Eleventh Metal, Allomancer Jak, Edgedancer> Oathbringer (Stormlight 3) I switched some things up just to be fresh but I think it was a pretty good order.
  25. Well, I am hyped! It's a given that, in some form, this will be dramatized to television however whether or not they will do it justice; we will just need to wait and see. I imagine they might be awaiting the endgame before they try and push this further. Potentially even waiting to see how Lord of the Rings, Magician, Wheel of Time and so on perform.
