Hmmmm, to replay Final Fantasy X or not to replay..... -
WE are Kaladins friends!
-
It is the centre of battle. Kaladin, Dalinar, Szeth, Jasnah and so on are surrounded. Hope is lost. There is simply calm before the terror. A voice speaks, triumphant above the massacre. "I have shat myself in my Shardplate". Kaladin looks up and sees a screaming Adolin running towards him, glowing with Stormlight. "SHAT IN THE SHARDPLAAAAAAATE" The group run, quite squeamishly, with weapons in one hand and a smell accompanying them to put off the rest.

Brandon has posted an updated on his Facebook with the release date and cover reveal: Starsight release information

Saw a midnight screening and I was blown away. The amount of cameos and callbacks have been placed nicely. The level of detail and emotion is a real heartbreaker throughout the full 3+ hours. It's been an absolute rollercoaster just witnessing these events come together and end in such a satisfying way that honours the past and pushes to the future. I have NO idea how any franchise will top this or even how they will top themselves.Albeit I'm pretty biased but this was the best ending I could have seen.

Seein this in approx. 14 hours. HYPE

I'm not saying that he should do this for Jasnah but Brandon has used rape as a backstory before. Dockson's wife in Mistborn was raped as were the Skaa as part of their story. However, this would not be the same as having Jasnah be strong because of the scenario. Just wanted to show that Brandon might not shy away from that sort of thing.

What characters would you love to see meet?

Galladon and Demoux. Oh wait.... -
You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
Wander89 replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
Yeah, I meant the fact a certain person is there in Secret History? She plans to read them all and I don't want to spoil a thing so I agree that I won't tell her anything, just let it all unravel right in front of her innocent eyes. -
You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
Wander89 replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
I know, I was considering telling her that sliiiiiight spoiler but I'll wait and see what happens. I wish someone had told me all this when I read them for the first time and I wouldn't have been heartbroken for years! -

Bought the UK 10th anniversary Mistborn hardbacks and gave the paperbacks to my little sister to read. Little does she know the heartbreak to ensue..... -
They do Snapshot in hardback in the UK (don't know where you're from) but that's the only way I got to read it. I agree that hopefully a sort of omnibus would be great, I'd pay good money for a collection but he has so many that it'd be massive. Starting a new series can be quite daunting, too. Especially when you have so many on the go. I find myself wandering and not being able to complete one so never manage to do 2/3 at a time. ASOIAF is a series I'm sure I'd love to read but the fact it's incomplete is startling. When I read Name of the Wind I was under the impression it'd be completed shortly and look how that turned out...

Having a Bad Day?: Get 'yer Hugs here!!

Some people just won't be able to get into it, which is okay too. At least they gave it a shot! -
Game of Thrones (Spoilers for the latest episodes)
Wander89 replied to Wander89's topic in Entertainment Discussion
I get that they had to do an episode where the characters all came together and meshed. I understand that they are fast-tracking a lot, like the travelling and such but I hope that the scenes/story picks up more with the remaining episodes and we get some answers. I don't want more questions at this point, I want some solid proof that this is not going to do a LOST on me and leave me hanging! -
Star Wars Ep 9 The Rise of Skywalker
Wander89 replied to Briar King's topic in Entertainment Discussion
Is there a list of all the now canon Star Wars movies/tv series? I've only seen the movies but I'd much love to get into the lore more. -
Legion was a great story and I was happy to get a different aspect (hehe) of Sanderson's writing styles. Snapshot was great that way too and these short stories are what keeps those ideas fresh, for me. Skyward isn't hard sci-fi and is a pretty easy read so you could possibly read that but with the sequel coming out soon you might want to keep it fresh in your mind for later.

Access to Dragonsteel Prime
Wander89 replied to TheFoxQR's topic in Sanderson Curiosities & Unpublished Works
The closest we would get is the https://brandonsanderson.com/new-dragonsteel-chapter-one/ probably and try and work from there. I'm in the uK and used to have a copy but I don't any longer and it suuuuuuucks -
Having a Bad Day?: Get 'yer Hugs here!!

Does she usually read fantasy books? My first readthrough was a slog and I DNF'd it about a third of the way through. I seen the light after reading Mistborn and giving this another shot though. -
I think most of the drag was more the waiting for the book to be released. I've found that the re-read was easier than the first read through because I was able to move onto the next book quickly! And Nynaeve is a divisive character HOWEVER she has one of the best arcs I've read. I adore her sense of not letting anyone define who she is.

That's a good question let one that I feel I cannot answer correctly. One of my other aspects would be able to do so though....

I remember reading Warbreaker for the first time before MB Era 1 and not liking it at all. I also tried to read Way of Kings and put it down about 1/3 of the way through. I wasn't used to Sanderson's style of writing and was only just coming back to fantasy books. I read MB Era 1 and was obviously startled at the sheer complexity of the writings. I tried Warbreaker and Elantris and although I agree these can be the weaker of his work, I found myself more focused in his tone, his humour, his foreshadowing and realised that there's always more going on and that just draws me right in. To see the connection between Stormlight and Warbreaker I think that just cemented him as one of my favourites. How can a guy write stories year after year and keep the ideas so fresh, so familiar yet to deeply complex?

I think that the idea of Kelsier is good. At the end of WoA there is a quote by Elend: "We are going to do what Kelsier taught us, Vin. We're going to survive". I think that would urge Kelsier to do more, he is on the constant path of freedom and inspiration and for him to see that he is the personification of hope will cause him to be one of the greatest people that the Cosmere has ever known. But it can also take a turn, this could all go to his head and he could lump right into a mistake where one of his plans won't work and he'll end up even more dead!
-
Adolin keeps getting himself into too many dangerous situations that it's almost inevitable that either him or an honourable Kaladin is going to take a deathly blow soon, mainly because Kaladin just keeps trying to save him.

Rosharan Revolution (Any ideas for tecnological advanced Roshar?)
Wander89 replied to Karger's topic in Stormlight Archive
I've always imagined Stormlight fuelled machines would be like the machinations from FF VII, powered by materia.
