  1. Ferring no, Set members yes, and that would require a lot of health, as soul is also damaged
  2. if its in heart, you can't remove it without killing him
  3. Yes but it depends where the spike has a power granting binding point. Then you need to find aluminum ferring, which could be very rare, as Brandon avoids talking about Identity. It's possible they picked up some aluminum medallions from a Malwish ship they deconstructed in BoM. There was a lot of tech there. It would certainly be easier than using hemalurgy. I can believe they'd found one aluminum ferring but multiple not so likely tbf. Then spiking your members with Identity spike would damage them and maybe depending on binding point, make them unable to remove that spike while the person is still living.
  4. Yes this way it can be done. I think right now using medallions is the only option. Did Set did it this way? No problem. This is an interesting idea.
  5. I'm speechless. Power, by definition, is the ability or capacity to do something or act in a particular way. If Shard's infinite investiture (Shard's "power") can't act in any way without a Vessel (with which you agreed), it is by definition powerless. If there is no Vessel that can fully comprehend all investiture of the Shard, it means it cannot achieve omnipotence (all power) and omniscience (all knowledge). And on top of that there is Intent which is an inseparable part of Shard's investiture, and no Shard can act against its Intent, which puts Shard (investiture) even further away from omnipotence. Omnipotence, by definition, is the quality of having unlimited power. If the Shard's Vesselless investiture has any limits it means it isn't omnipotent. If the Shard's Vesselless investiture can't act in a particular way (don't have a power), it means it isn't omnipotent. If the Shard's Vesselless investiture needs a Vessel, an advanced mind, to act in any way, it means it isn't omnipotent. If the Shard's Vessel can't use all of the Shard's investiture at once, it means it isn't omnipotent. This all means, Shard is not omnipotent. Omniscience, by definition, is the state of knowing everything. If there is at least one instance when Shard's Vesselless investiture, or Shard's Vessel, doesn't know even at least one thing - it means Shard is not omniscient. There are multiple instances - Shard's Vesselless investiture offered itself to Hoid after Shattering, if Shard's Vesselless investiture is omniscient it wouldn't do that as it would know Hoid will refuse. Harmony didn't know what kind of metal is Trellium. Odium doesn't know that Harmony can't act because of his intent. This all means Shard is not omniscient
  6. So if the power can't act on its own, and needs a narrow-minded human for it and still is limited in its actions, it means it was never "omni"
  7. Because that's Passion, and Rayse wanted to redefine Odium's intent to Passion. It doesn't prove at all that a Shard's non-vessel mind can use the power of the Shard. They have, but they can't do advanced calculus. Just because there is a mind doesn't mean that it can do everything. Try giving a gun to a fish, it won't use it because it doesn't understand it, it's too limited. The same can be told about Shard's non-vessel mind - it can't use its power as far as we know. Vessel is needed, and there is no Vessel with infinite mind.
  8. You can read SA5 prologue, it will answer some questions - https://wob.coppermind.net/events/495-prologue-to-stormlight-book-five/ No, it there was a Terrismen killed by Mraize, and he had an Aviar, his Aviar was being hunted by Mraize's Aviar, and Lift saved him. Odium's plan with the Tower was not only to gain a significant advantage but also to gain a new Champion - Kaladin. He failed. Again. He already agreed to the Contest of the Champions but now he lost two of his Champions, while the Coalition has both of them on their side, Dalinar and Kaladin are very skilled fighters. Since WoR Ghostblood were after controlling Oathgates to be able to easily transport Stormlight off-world. That's their main goal on Roshar. By giving Lift to Raboniel, they could gain full and undisturbed access to Fused controlled Oathgates. While Ascension to Honor is a great theory, Oathpact is something separate. What would it do now? Fused won't get locked in Braize again as they are reborn during every Everstorm. So remaking Oathpact won't stop Fused invasion. That might happen, however I doubt this. There is a significant Coalition forces presence in Azir right now, as they just successfully forced Odium forces out of Emul. So Odium doesn't have enough troops to take Azir in 10 days. There is lots of topics about Loophole in the contract on forum, most recent one is this one: Design was distracted when this happened so she might not know about it. But Hoid doesn't have his perfect pitch anymore, so he will know. Recreance was because of many things. Honor was rambling about Dawnshards and Radiants destroying Roshar like Ashyn and didn't reassure them like previous generations. They discovered that humans were the first Voidbringers and brought Odium with them. There was also conflict with the Sibling who banished Radiants from the Tower. So when they realized that imprisonment of BAM caused the entire species to lose their mind, they probably finally realized that they are on the path to destroy Roshar like Ashyn before. I personally believe that it was shattered by playing the anti-tone of the Dawncity and amplifying it. Each Dawncity has its own frequency, proved by cymatics and Kabsal, so it also means there is an anti-frequency. And the regularity of the pattern of Shattered Plains, and Shallans description of them makes me more and more convinced that was the case. No, they were shattered before Last Desolation, both human and listner sources confirm this. Coppermind:
  9. Shards are composed of two parts, a power, which is omnipresent everywhere in Cosmere, and a mind, which controls that power. While power (investiture) of the Shard is everywhere, mind is not (https://wob.coppermind.net/events/256/#e8605 and https://wob.coppermind.net/events/373/#e12035). Mind is a Vessel, and they are very limited because they used to be mortal beings, with limited minds. No Vessel would be capable of fully grasping the power of a Shard (https://wob.coppermind.net/events/256/#e8702). The Mind of the Vessels usually can focus on a singular place while also managing other things elsewhere (e.g. Ruin, who was focused mainly on Fadrex and Vin, but also was vaguely present in Urteau and talking to Spook, controlling the army of Koloss, Inquisitors etc). Yes, I also don't thing they could do it. Aluminum shields from investiture, Shard is investiture, it can't look into aluminum room, and possibly if there was Shard's investiture inside, it would be partially separated from Shard, so Shard can't "see" through it as well. They have some awareness, but not full awareness - Ruin proves this, because even when it involved part of his power - Atium, he was not able to find it and knew where it was located. So either it has to involve being seen by the Vessel or, I would say, it has to involve using Shards investiture for Shard to know about it - like burning it allomanticly. Possibly but I doubt it would be to the extent of which you think. They could look at the other planets, mostly look at Shards there, as Odium is aware of Harmony, and Harmony of Odium. Autonomy has Avatars, on some planets, while being highly invested on Taldain. So they can look and even invest in other places, but I don't think it will be as detailed as looking at their own system. I don't know but I don't think so. If this other planet is already invested by another Shard, they would be opposed. It highly depends on how much they are invested on different planets, and usually they can invest in only one system, as it binds Shard to it. I would say yes, as Inquisitor is highly connected to Ruin and carries his investiture with him. With this, connection is the most important thing. But again, if Shard, present in that other world, realizes what is happening, he/she can oppose it, most likely successfully. Shards do fight directly, HoA proves this as that was what Vin as Preservation did with Ruin. They threw both of their powers against each other. And there is a Shard that fought and splintered the power and killed the Vessels of 4 other Shards - Odium directly splintered Ambition, Devotion, Dominion and Honor. I doubt it because the Vessel and the Shard are intertwined. Vin couldn't ascend as long as Leres was holding Preservation. Without ascending? I don't think so. Bondsmith can use his powers to ascend easier, but they have to ascend otherwise their mind isn't "wide" enough to grasp full power of the Shard (https://wob.coppermind.net/events/479/#e15173 and https://wob.coppermind.net/events/246/#e5485). A Vessel can however give up a Shard (https://wob.coppermind.net/events/132/#e1877 and https://wob.coppermind.net/events/166/#e3009)
  10. I don't think this is an inconsistency as we still don't truly know what Lerasium is doing or any other god metal as well. Lerasium is theorized to produce a strong connection between a person burning it and Preservation in a way no other god metal can do, thus allowing its alloys to be burned by anyone. Atium on the other hand is providing a view into SR. This would be consistent as no other god metal alloys, including Shardblades which are alloys of 2 god metals (Tanavastium and Koravellium), can be burned without proper connection. WoB:
  11. Kaladin did a similar feat during the battle of the Tower, when with one powerful burst of reverse lashing, he attracted hundred arrows into his shield. TWoK ch 67
  12. I highly doubt it. It's gravity, you would have to reach crazy speeds, maybe even few or few dozens of a percent of the speed of light, or something like that. No steel push will achieve that speed. And if multiple reverse lashings were applied, then there is simply no way - RoW spoilers
  13. Elantris spoilers Regular Shard "mind" is just the preference and desire to be controlled by a Vessel, with strong connection to that Shard. Nothing more. It's just like a basic instinct that every animal has Fun fact, some fish species pass the mirror test, which implies existence of self-awareness, while dogs and cats don't. So fishes aren’t that stupid
  14. The hazekiller rounds for reverse lashing is an okish solution but I can't see a construction that wouldn't alter the round's route when reverse lashing is pulling on it. The direction in which reverse lashing would pull on bullets will mostly be in front of them, a little bit to the side. If the metal section was the back part of the bullet, it would always bump into the front aluminum section, knocking it off course. If the metal part is some kind of coating on the tip or the bullet, then there is no way to push it without separating both parts (regular aluminum bullets would be far better at this point). If there is some kind of rod weakly attached to the front metal part, and to a metal plate at the back of the bullet, which you can push, then the front part falls off when reverse lashing is applied, but the back part will still knock the bullet off course. You need a piece of metal on the back of the bullet to be able to push it, there is no way of making it in a way so it wouldn't alter the route of the aluminum bullet. And then it has to be versatile so it could resist reverse lashing applied from all directions, from the back, side, up and down. For every direction there has to be a different design. I can't see this type of bullet.
  15. Or to confuse the readers so they didn't know that the last Bondsmith spren is Urithiru itself!
  16. Yes, Inquisitors controlled koloss . But they didn't have to control thousands of koloss, even a few hundred of them would be a formidable force. And they could assess control in a similar way that Vin/Elend did at the beginning of any battle with koloss - just few at once until they controlled the whole army. Or they could use several Inquisitors at once. Afterall the Lord Ruler was in control all the time.
  17. No, it was about Stormlight. I also couldn't find the WoB no matter what words I used. Maybe it was some discussion on the forum and not a WoB. Anyway, it doesn't matter that much, whatever is the mechanism, Stormlight healing doesn't let you suffocate.
  18. Yes the wording of this is odd. But I don't think it reacts only with the Voidlight Fused is holding. It must react with a soul to kill them without return. Those daggers do react with sprens after all, so it would work the same way with Fused. But the effects of this reaction with a soul might appear only in CR or SR - killing Phendorana, ch 104: And I found this WoB but it doesn't answer where Fused hold its Voidlight, in their bodies or their gemheart. However both Fused and Venli glow with light, so they have to hold it in their bodies not just gemhearts.
  19. I think it was described that smoke left the body when stabbed with anit-light dagger. It could be tissue being burnt, absorbing energy. And the light was most likely released over time because of how Raysium conducts investiture. Quote RoW ch 97 What if light is made out of just a pair of quarks? The 3 quarks that make up the proton/neutron weigh 100 times less than the whole proton/neutron. This is getting weird, but it's magic so why not just quarks.

    Nicrosil's use

From the Coppermind, sourced by AoL Ars Arcanum: Is instantly close enough to instantaneous for you? Because this is canon. Books prove that as well.

    Nicrosil's use

There is literally a WoB in my post which says, I quote "it makes it all happen at the same time". What other evidence do you need?
  22. What causes your muscles to clench is 100000 times greater voltage from that which normally goes through your nerves, that's what I was addressing. Everything else (except for damage) is normal. Not really, metal armor could act like a Faraday cage, especially since Shardplate is fully metal, without any cracks and joints. Dead plates were already proven to be lightning resistant so living ones would be for sure taser resistant. You would have to first crack the plate and shoot the probes directly into your body. However what can be healed is probe wounds - your healing would push probes out of your body, and thus prevent further electrocution. But those probes are quite spiky, designed specifically to be hard to remove, and that can prevent healing from pushing them out - like Shallan when got shot with a bolt in her head, or Nale with an arrow, they had to pull out the arrow by hand. They don't have tasers or portable electricity. Maybe in Era 3. I must admit, I like it, despite its flaws. I always found Stormlight healing to be extremely powerful, affecting the story far too much, and if the simple solution is to tase them, it's quite a good weakness. I can't prove it, or find it now, but I think there was a WoB confirming healing provides oxygen to your blood/cells, or something like that. I might be wrong, but that's what I think was told.
  23. That's very interesting WoB. From the inside of the bubble you have to do multiple duralumin burns to achieve a bigger effect. It can work very well in all the "vs'' topics! I doubt I will be able to find it now. I read TFE just before the TLM release, so I remember him (or maybe Kel) saying this, and Vin repeating it in her mind sometimes. I think in era 2 it could be mentioned as well. But it is a very important part of emotional allomancy, it doesn't create emotions, it only uses the existing ones. It can with duralumin, emotions will disappear, but the memory will last. The more powerful emotions, the clearer the memory will remain, depending on the emotion that was rioted, it can be imprinted on your mind and can cause you some trauma. Like Straff was constantly feeling fear when he thinks about Vin and what she did to him. TLM spoilers:
  24. So what are the Bands of Mourning? Are they super advanced medallions, or just unkeyed metalminds? We don't know. And Kandra aren’t more reliable, as they told at first that the Bands were made by the Lord Ruler. Malwians believed that they’re a medallion, and that they were made after Kelsier helped them and introduced regular medallions to them. We know nothing about how Bands were made, and if they required to give up someone's powers.
  25. But Spook was never even said to be dead. And here is WoB telling that there is more to the Spook story than already told. You do. Tbf we don't know fully how nicrosil Feruchemy works, but from WoB, it works the same as Copperminds. If you store powers in Nicrosilmind and didn't retake them, you won't have those powers anymore. WoB: While I do agree, it wouldn't probably remove his Mistborn powers from his spiritual DNA, and thus it still would be transferable to his offsprings.
