We know what pure Atium does, it has the same effect as Atium-electrum alloy burned with duralumin, which Eland did at the end of HoA. And Atium's effect is described on the Allomantic poster too. WoBs:

Ultimate? LIAR! My choices are Nalthis, 10th Heightening Awakener and Vasher for an enemy, to have cool Awakening fights! I won't choose anything else!

No Shard intervention? Is being an Elantrian count as Shardic intervention or not? If yes than it gets really tricky as Nightblood was made with Endovment's intervention, all Rosharan Godspren were also created directly by Honor/Cultivation, Honorblades were made by Honor and Mistborns were first created due to direct Preservation intervention - he left Lerasium beads near his perpendicularity on purpose. It's likely that even Feruchemists were created directly by Preservation and Fullborn are basically possible only with a direct Shardic intervention. To be fair, you can reasonably argue that all invested arts in Cosmere are a result of a Shardic intervention. But @Nitpicking aside, being an Elantrian is quite op as with enough time and preparation they can replicate effects of almost all other invested arts in Cosmere. Make them a Forger and a Bondsmith as well, Feruchemist or even a Fullborn and why not give them 10th Heightening worth of Breaths and slap a Dawnshard on top of it. Dawnshards make everyone op. You're spoiling me. I'm just reading WoBs out of boredom and that's why I do remember the most important ones, the rest is as you said, being able to use Arcanum's search engine properly with the aid of the Coppermind articles.

What would happen if a Surgebinder + Mistborn burned Duraliminum?
alder24 replied to Deception's question in Cosmere Q&A
It would supercharger this Surge, consuming all Stormlight they have. Bondsmiths can do something similar but on a bigger scale, they can supercharger another Radiant's power. Keep in mind that Radiants are handling way more investiture than what Allomancers can get from metal. This means that the effects of duralumin on Surges would be just a scaled up version of thier Surges at best, while sometimes nothing different from a normal use of surges (for example, you already can just put all your Stormlight into one big Lashing so there would be almost no difference between this and duralumin powered Lashing). They would run out of duralumin pretty fast. They wouldn't be albe to make such a destructive things. Lashing a whole planet requires a Shardic level of power. -
Well, to know answers to those questions you should read Warbreaker.
-
Yes and yes. Lift can't even use Stormlight like normal Radiants, instead she converts food directly into Lifelight (Cultivation's investiture) and because of that she can do it anywhere in Cosmere. It's similar to how Mistborn can burn metal anywhere and they draw investiture directly from Preservation. WoBs:

Could Spren Attract Other Spren?
alder24 replied to KaladinTheKingOfHeralds's topic in Stormlight Archive
It seems like spren can attract other lesser spren. It's theoretically possible for them to even bond spren, but don't expect it to happen soon. Those windspren were attracted by Kaladin himself, in fact those were his platespren that were following him around and because of this thoughts about the 4th Ideal he pulled them into the Cognitive Realm from the Physical Realm. Syl didn't contribute at all, she even sensed he was doing something. Yes, Syl and Kal are bonded together, they both gain something through that bond, but just because Kaladin attracted some spren, it doesn't mean Syl is the reason for this.- 4 replies

Creation of new shards (spoiler for mistborn era 1 and stormlightarchive)
alder24 replied to Michael12124's question in Cosmere Q&A
People's perception about Shards does influence their intent a little bit, but the biggest effect on their intent has the Vessel's own perception. Vessel filters the intent of the Shard and they can change how it's manifested. Sazed chose the name Harmony because it felt right to him and he could control both of them just right. If he wasn't able to control them, he would have chosen the name Discord instead. The same goes with Retribution, that's how Taravangian specifically view those combined Shards and that's why this name was chosen.- 5 replies

Who in the Cosmere could be a Disney Princess?
alder24 replied to pureintonation's topic in Cosmere Discussion
She certainly counts as well. And because of Lightweaving I would say she has a magic hair. And tbf she is cursed. She inherited "terrible burden" from her herald mother and had some other side effects because of this. Worst, Chana hoped Shallan could have replaced her in the Oathpact, but it didn't worked. And that would mean Shallan, alongside with Tress, has the most points so far, 6/7. Coppermind: -
Who in the Cosmere could be a Disney Princess?
alder24 replied to pureintonation's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Obviously, it's gonna be Siri and Vivenna from Warbreaker: Magic hair - point for both. Magic hands - Awakening, point for Vivenna. Talking animals - even better, a talking sword! Point for Vivenna. Poisoned - not really? Vivenna was sick but neither were poisoned. Cursed - no curses, but for Vivenna getting 600 Breaths felt like one for the half of the book. Kidnapped or enslaved - yes in both cases! And lots of their problems were solved because a big, strong man showed up - Vasher in Vivenna's case and literal deus ex machina Susebron saved Siri. That gives 3 points out of 7 to Siri and 5 to Vivenna. And both already are princesses so they would make a fine addition to the Disney princesses collection. Vin also have a big potential: Magic hair - no. Magic hands - Allomancy counts! Talking animals - a dog talks to her. Poisoned - she was drugged at least once. Cursed - she was chosen by both Preservation and Ruin to be their tools, I think it definitely counts as being cursed. Kidnapped or enslaved - skaa are basically slaves and she was imprisoned by Yomen so points for her. Not in her case, she solves problems for both herself and her man. She scored 5 out of 7 points, certainly a Disney princess material. Plus she's the empress and a goddess. And I think Jasnah would count as well: Magic hair - no. Magic hands - yes with her Soulcasting powers. Talking animals - kind of, spren are like animals on Roshar and one is talking to her. Poisoned - yes, the case of jam and bread from WoK. Cursed - no, unless "being cursed with knowledge" counts. Kidnapped or enslaved - maybe? She was locked away in her childhood due to mysterious "illness." And like Vin, she doesn't let any man solve problems for her. Jasnah gets 4 points, she qualifies as a Disney princess. And she was a princess and became a queen. Can't think of anyone else right now. Siri, Jasnah, Vin and Vinenna gained enough points to be certified as Disney princesses, at least in my opinion. -
Truthfully, we don't but there are just so many similarities between Allomancy and Feruchemy that it seems very likely. For example, no Feruchemist went through Mistsnapping likely because they already had Connection to Preservation. You can also use God metals to aquire Feruchemy in some way, so it would likely work like Lerasium. However, in case of Feruchemy it probably needs Connections to both Ruin and Preservation, as Feruchemy came from both of them.
-
Kind of. A Nahel Bond is a Connection between a Radiant and their spren, Bondsmiths can manipulate Connections and that's why Ishar was able to steal Dalinar's bond. That's similar to Hemalurgy and you can also use spikes to steal a Nahel Bond from a Radiant. Although, in this case a spren could still break that bond so you would also need to steal the power directly from a spren to make it permanent. However, Hemalurgy can steal way more than just Connections, so it's more versatile than Bondsmithing. Allomancy and Feruchemy are forms of Connection, a Connection between a Mistborn/Feruchemist and Preservation, so it's likely than an unchained Bondsmith like Ishar would be able to steal it as well. There are other things that Bondsmithing can steal, but we don't know specifics yet. Anything that works on Connections could be stolen. WoBs:

Can Cephandrius eat soulcast meat?

Unlikely, but there is a chance. Shardplates are pure investiture so affecting them with Allomancy is extremely hard. Here are two WoBs on this matter, one said it might be possible with duralumin, other said that only with the full power of the Well of Ascension can an Allomancer push a Shardplate.
-
It's based on his perception. If he believes he's not hurting himself or others then he can do it. Identity tricks won't work because that's not how identity works - you can't just view someone else as a part of yourself.
-
Won't work because using A-nicrosil and A-duralumin doesn't add new investiture, it only gives you all that you already have but at once. For Allomancy, you will burn all the metal that you've already swallowed and get all the power it can give you released at once, for Feruchemy you get all that's already stored in the metalmind. A Soulbearer who stored his innate investiture in a nicrosilmind and gets boosted by a Nicroburster will get back what he stored and that's it. Although we don't know specifically how a F-nicrosil works (like a medallion, or like normal metalminds), this process involving a Nicroburster would be almost no different than just tapping all you stored at once. To gain new investiture, you would have to be a compounder and burn your own metalminds, you can't use A-nicrosil as a substitute.

Investiture on Anti-Investiture annihilation
alder24 replied to Cephandrious Maxtori's question in Cosmere Q&A
Yes, it will eventually return to its Shard as investiture. WoB: -
Won't work. A steel ball has no means of inducing a spin on its own, even if it could somehow use Allomancy and Feruchemy and was Awakened. It's a solid and stiff object, it can't move on it's own - just look at Nightblood. And even if it somehow were to start spinning, it wouldn't be that destructive compared to other forces at play in Cosmere, not to mention it would just break apart after reaching a certain angular speed, without destroying anything nearby, at most showering nearby planets with debris. If you have access to almost infinite investiture, you can just vaporize entire planets at will, you can basically play with worlds like Rashek and Vin did during their Ascension. There are invested arts way more powerful than Metallic Arts. Microkinesis in particular is extremely dangerous, capable of causing fusion and fission events and it was used to disastrous consequences on Yolen. Dawnshards can destroy planets too - Ashyn is a prime example of it. A moon-sized spinning ball of steel is not that impressive and it's overly complicated. If you can create such an amount of steel out of nowhere (investiture), why not create anit-matter or anti-investiture and annihilate if you really, really, really want to make an explosion?
-
Oh, good point, that can explain Stormlight then.
-
Yes, investiture does warp spacetime, but not in the Physical Realm like gravity does in our universe. Instead, investiture brings all three Realms together and eventually pierces them forming a perpendicularity if there is enough investiture. In Cosmere investiture is just another form of matter and energy. We don't know what the Cosmere version of E=mc^2 is, but investiture is included in it. WoBs:
-
Venli didn't, but Eshonai did get Stormlight after swearing an Oath. Maybe not to the levels of a glowing mini-perpendicularity like Kaladin had, but she got enough light to survive for quite a long time underwater. RoW ch 117:

Chipping off a piece of Nightblood seems like an impossible task because he is the most invested object in Cosmere and to chip him off, you would need to have something more invested, which doesn't exist. But assuming you can somehow do it, I believe it would be similar to burning a Shardblade - which you can't do because a spren manifesting as a god metal is alive and it is no longer considered as a metal by the system. Nightblood is alive, he's the closest to being a spren, thus I suspect you won't be able to burn him for the same reasons (plus that piece of Nightblood might still be driven by his Command and might try to eat you instead). Brandon also said that Awakening turned the steel of his sword into what some can argue is Endowment's god metal - Edglium. We don't know what burning Edglium does so it's hard to speculate. However, it's the Breaths themselves (that became his soul) that turned his steel into this halfway state, and if you were to strip life away from the metal itself to make it burnable, you won't be left with pure Edglium. You would need to remove those Breaths from it and thus you would be left with just normal steel. In short, you can't burn a piece of Nightblood unless you remove his Breaths, which make him alive and turn him back into a boring steel. Not at first but maybe after thousands of years it would become sentient.

Seems like it. Some definitely did it for power (Rayse probably), but others saw the Shattering as a necessity, Hoid included. And because according to Tanavast Adonalsium didn't fight back, it's possible that Adonalsium himself also shared their opinion. Which begs the question: what did Adonalsium do to make them want to kill him and to make them think they could do a better job as gods? Tress ch 56: SH ch 3-1:
-
Just perception alone won't be enough. He's still a sword, his soul is bound by this and his Command is also tying him up as a sword. You would have to modify his Spiritual DNA directly, but because he's an artificial creation bounded by his Command and body, I don't really know how you could even attempt it. His Command gives him life, but it's tied to him being a sword and it wouldn't work without it, so changing him into a human would mess up with his Command, which might kill him. Not to mention that any investiture that touches him would be consumed by him. It has an effect on him, but he probably doesn't view himself as a god so for now he can counteract those changes. This effect of how others view Cognitive Shadows is especially visible in Heralds who went insane and all became closer to Ten Fools, and this is something Kelsier desperately wants to avoid. However, such a change won't be visible in Kelsier after 300 years he lived as a CS, it takes thousands of years for that to happen. Returned also are influenced by perception of people, their bodies slightly change to make them appear more wise, more old, more beautiful etc.
