  1. Oh yeah, here you go: https://wob.coppermind.net/events/495-prologue-to-stormlight-book-five/ And on YT: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N7IAXaDWdKU
  2. Hoid's real name isn't Hoid. And he was using his master name, Frost told this in WoR letter. Hoid's "current incarnation" is Wit, as this is happening on Roshar. It's likely that Hoid’s old master's name was Hoid (or Cephandrius), the name Hoid had stolen. Which would make sense in the context of his words "I began life as a thought, a concept, words on a page. That was another thing I stole. Myself." - he stole his master name and his personality, or the idea of a character written by Hoid's master, or something like that. Hard to say anything about Hoid's past. Another name Hoid references here is Topaz: "Another time, I was named for a rock... a beautiful one, and one that became completely worthless for my wearing it."
  3. The same way normal Lerasium rewrites your Spiritual DNA and makes you into an Allomancer. But here, I have no idea what it could make you into. There is no proof that Atium and Lerasium repel each other, like Trellium and Harmonium. I doubt it. But tbf we've never seen those two together.
  4. Interesting idea, @therunner already brought up problems with this, but I just add that steel steals physical Allomantic powers, and while it's possible for a metal to steal something else (like ReLuur spikes are pewter), it might be best to steal strength with an iron sword instead, just to make it easier. And because you want to make an invested piece of metal, not a usable spike, investing it with several different people, like Set was doing, is a viable strategy. Also also, you don't need to invest it by executions. After each battle there would be lots of wounded people, who can be used and spiked in the correct binding point. It's very likely that if Atilla has an army with him, battling another army, after just one battle he would have enough wounded prisoners to fully invest his sword. And that’s scary, as during a single campaign, he can create hundreds of such swords, not to mention using civilians as well during plunder. However I doubt such a spike would cut like a Shardblade, as it requires more than investiture alone. It would be very good at resisting a Shardblade, so that's a good thing, likely the best option Scadrial has at creating invested objects that can fully resist Shardblades.
  5. Good question. Hemalurgy just rips part of the soul into the spike, so I guess there would be no problem with performing it inside an aluminum box. The soul is there, spike is there, intent is there. But it is a possibility, depending on what is happening with that investiture when it's ripped away. If investiture in spike is being corrupted by Ruin, doing it in aluminum box might have weird consequences, or even something like giving better Allomancy to the recipient, as he gets clean investiture, like in natural Allomancer (fewer investiture is lost during spiking process).
  6. Good one. I like math, but I don't think it would be that easy. First, it's not just the burn rate, Allomantic strength is also a very important factor here, the stronger the Allomancer (like Elend compared to Vin), the more force he can exert within the same time and the same burn rate. Is that the variable "M"? Why is energy M not E? M is for mass! It confused me! If so, ignore the next paragraph. This could likely be resolved by adding another variable like "p", which would be Allomantic power of Allomancer, in most cases, their power would be on the same level, like Kelsier=Wax, Vin was said to be a bit stronger, likely she ingested Mists when she was younger, Inquisitors are on the other hand a bit weaker, because of their hemalurgic decay (something like 0.9p of Kelsier), but Elend or Rashek are towering over them with massively stronger Allomancy, Rashek could even push on metal traces and invested spikes. That's a lot of power. But then there is Wax, who has Iron feruchemy and can change his mass, which just breaks equations of kinetic and potential energy. Like when Wax changes his mass mid flight, due to conservation of momentum (which is conserved), his speed changes, but also his potential and kinetic energy is change, and his speed, derived from kinetic energy equation, doesn't match up with his new real speed, derived from conservation of momentum. I’ve done math on this and that’s what I got. His example clearly shows us that our equations for energy are incomplete, as they don't take into account investiture, 3rd state of energy. This would likely break your equation as well, especially in case of Wax and Feruchemical Iron. But that still looks like a good approximation of the force of steelpush, using our real physics. I think the best test of it would be to use math and calculate the force Vin used when pushing on top of Luthadel walls, it was said how tall they were, so it should be doable.
  7. That's a good point. Someone with their soul already expanded, like Rashek or Vin, would have a harder time to become a savant. And so it happened that Marasi was holding the Bands of Mourning which might have expanded her soul a bit.
  8. Yes, it's very likely that the field of aluminum prevents decay from happening. And I would say that aluminum separates investiture in spike from SR, therefore investiture can't escape anymore, it's flow is disturbed and investiture is simply stuck in PR instead. Like a small hole in a full water bottle, once plugged, water stops flowing, but when you unplug it, water starts flowing again with normal flow.
  9. Your text's color is white, which makes it invisible in the white background. Please edit your post, by using "edit" at the bottom of your post, and then highlight entire post and chose the 8th option "A Text Color" from the right side, and change it to black I'm pretty sure there was another coinshot that used a steel bubble trick like Wax, and didn't have iron feruchemy. Don't know where he appeared, but I'm almost certain of it. The idea of powers acting on each other is a good explanation. However Wayne is Wayne, he's just that kind of guy. More fitting among Kandra than humans. He's just like that, and his personality isn't the result of resonances (likely).
  10. I don't think so. Normally, savantism happens because huge amounts of investiture flows through the soul of Allomancer from Spiritual Realm over long periods of time, which stresses the soul and changes it. But in this case, investiture didn't come from Spiritual Realm, it was right there in Physical Realm instead. Yes, physical investiture like that existed in all 3 realms at the same time, but being primarily in Physical Realm might change things in case of savanthood. So here is the question. Does investiture which comes from Physical Realm instead of Spiritual Realm puts the same stress on the soul? SA spoilers:
  11. Yes, Lerasium alloyed with other god metals gives you the invested art of that Shard. But Learsium-Atium alloy? We don't know what it does. It would either end the world or "rewrite your spiritual DNA with Atium power", whatever it means: It's likely that Lerasium-Atium alloy grants Feruchemy, as Feruchemy is both from Preservation and Ruin, and there is a way to use both god metals to give Feruchemy: That's all we know about alloy. Lerasium spike alone steals all attributes, but that's wasteful per WoB: And Lerasium-Atium spike? No idea. But you know how iron steals physical attribute of strength, and steel, which is an alloy of iron, steals physical Allomancy? Well, maybe it would do something like that, something weird, or steal all attributes and any power at once? Lerasium-Atium alloy is not Harmonium! And you can't get Lerasium and Atium via normal, mechanichal methods from Harmonium

There are many different ways of recording color, like RBG, that isn't based on 16. Color has also Cosmere importance, like color in gems on Roshar is important, it's not just on Nalthis and with Breaths.

Color is hexadecimal? I don't understnad you.

    2. Not just Allomancy, 16 is the number of basic metals used in all three metal arts. And Mists were snapping 16% of exposed. 3. How are Breaths associated with 16?
  15. Intent and visualization. If you imagine "the thing" to move, change shapes and strike your opponents without touching you, you're "safe". But please, don't create Nightblood that can move on its own.
  16. Yes, your paint is certainly going into the air, if it's hit by a rock when traveling 100 km/h or something. This is Mist fueled Fullbron, normal steelpush is like duralumin push or more. Don't ignore the ability to see where your opponent will be in a few seconds. That's a lot on its own. Plus Electrum to tell you what he will do. What is an average skill? Make a very tiny, microscopic hole in the breastplate and lines can come up out of your center. Fixed. Change your bones Wolverine style to aluminum. Good thing there is only one Windrunner, right? If we're going theoretical, one Fullborn fueled by infinite Mists can do a lot: Remember, I already said there will be no winners here. But let's not go into ridiculous ideas. Fullborn is not a Wolverine (yet), and Radiant's plate coated with aluminum won't work, aluminum would break on impact not only with steel pushed rocks/coins, but during Radiant every punch. It's just won't work.
  17. There are also other consequences, there is a limit on how much can a soul handle: I'm Ninja! Please, try to avoid double posting. You can use "+" button at the bottom of post to quote multiple posts at once More on this here:
  18. It is, but spren must be willing to share the bond, and they are not likely to do so:
  19. Thin layer of solid aluminum would still get shreded to pieces by Mist powered steel push. Aluminum isn't stronger than steel, it would break easier. It tells you where your opponent is (+ Shardblade shadow) and electrum shadows tells you how he's going to attact you. If we're going only for what is known, then there is no 5th ideal Windrunner and no Fullborn, and Roshar doesn't have aluminum to create such "armor" and they can't soulcast it for now. Not to mention all the things we're saying both of them can do. Why do you say such a thing when we're talking about a theoretical situation to see what the limits are?
  20. Now this is getting out of hand. It's melted now? So you're separating spren in half? Monstrous idea. The Sibling would like to have a word with you, and I highly doubt that Windrunners would dare to hurt spren in such a way. The outer layer would be dead and fall off, or block your movements as there is no stormlight coming in to fuel it. You really didn't think it through. And give an Atium shadow. Not ideal when you want to get rid of an Atium shadow. Remove gauntlets and you can push/pull again. Or have just an aluminum breastplate and helmet to protect your head and spine without obstructing your Allomancy and Feruchemy. And that’s all without cutting spren in half.
  21. Keep in mind, savanthood isn't just a good thing. There are severe negative consequences in most cases of becoming a savant. And because of how A-gold lets you be 2 persons at once, I think it very plausible that A-gold savantism would result in severe personality disorder of some sort.
  22. You black out at a party, then you make a gold shadow to see what you were doing or something. You suffer from amnesia - gold shadow to constantly remind you of who you were. IF you can use intent to determine what past you want to see. You last a fight and don't know why - gold shadow to show you that fight so you can see what mistakes you did. I highly doubt you could learn martial skills or their abilities from your gold shadows, that's too much, too close to Forgery. A-gold and F-aluminum might be very useful in combination with Forgery, but A-gold alone doesn't look that useful. Until now.
  23. I don't think Nicrosil works like regular metalminds. Can you tap memory at 500%? No. Nicrosil isn't like copper (medallion nicrosil is, but medallions are limited and the Bands were running out of Nicrosil), but it's somewhat similar as you store investiture in it, parts of your soul. It doesn't make sense to tap it at 500%. I don't know how it works, but for me it makes more sense than normal Feruchemist Nicrosil work as you have it or not (like medallions). But I see it entirely valid for normal Nicrosilmind to work like the rest (like the Bands), you store your Allomancy for 1h and have no Allomancy for 1h, you tap it for 1h and have 2x stronger Allomancy, or 3x for 25 minutes etc. Both options make sense, and both were shown to be used in book (BoM). There must be an upper limit of how much your soul can take from SR. I think Rashek's Allomancy is that limit, you can't get more powerful than him, without using external sources like Mists, Dor, Perpendicularity, which doesn't burden your soul. But that's a good idea, if Nicrosil works like other metalminds. Tapping A-Nicrosil with diminishing returns before compounding, would give you much more power and you'll get more from compounding. Good one.
  24. Your explanation reminded me of this WoB, supporting your idea that Identity is like an unique encryption key.
  25. We know nothing about Ancient Scadrial, but I'm pretty sure that Deepness would cause massive death toll alone, if Deepness started to appear from the edges of the world, towards the Well, then location of the Well, that during those times was far away from civilization, close to the north pole, would mean that long before Deepness would even approach the Well, all of the populated land would be covered by Mist, killing crops and people. And Sazed created a favorable environment, with rich soil, perfect for agriculture on a massive scale, Rashek destroyed all of farming with one single move of the planet. Not to mention wars that were waged before and after Rashek Ascension - Napoleonic Wars killed around 5% of Europe's population, wars on Scadrial were being waged for decades on the entire planet, add to this Deepness causing massive crop failure during the war times and you have a recipe for an apocalypse. Alexandria 100 AD: 0.5-0.75 mil. The Aztec Empire 1500: 5-6 mil, Tenochtitlan 200k-400k - 4-7%. Carthage ~200 BC: 3.7-4.3 mil, city Carthage 250k-500k - 7-12%. Byzantine Empire 500 AD: 19 mil, Constantinople 500k - ~2.7%. Baghdad 900 AD 0.9-1 mil form 26 mil - 4% (at minimum, in 900 AD the global Muslim population reached 11%, that's 26 mil, but can't find information about Abbasid Caliphate alone). Cairo reached 0.5 mil in the 1300s. It's about the percentage of the total population. Because the whole population sustains that city, not just 1 mil people living in that city. And if Ancient Carthage could sustain 10% of its population living in a single city, then TFE can sustain only 1% of its population in Luthadel, when most of its population lives in the most fertile lands of the Central Dominance anyways, very close by, with extensive canal networks used for transportation. The Central Dominance was the economic center of the Empire. If Luthadel were to have like 30% of total TFE's population, then you would be right, it's unsustainable and doesn't fit known examples in history, but that's just 1%, with the WHOLE empire working to sustain that city. Things like that were common in history. The Final Empire isn't like medieval Europe, but there is no real life analog, and The Roman Empire had the same annual population growth rate as the late medieval Europe. The same rate, despite having a vastly different society from medieval Europe. The same numbers would still be used for calculation. So what's the difference? Did you forget about the history of Rome? The Punic Wars were responsible for deaths of 1-2 mil people, in the first war, hundreds of thousands of Romans died during storms at sea alone, second one killed another hundreds of thousands on the battlefield (1 in 6 of every Roman man). The Empire times - great revolts constantly being crushed by Romans (the Great Jewish revolt and subsequent persecutions added another 1-2 mil casualties), civil wars fought for the Emperor’s title, fights on the borders like in Germania or Persia, conquering new territories, numerous slave revolts. Romans were constantly killing more and more people, and you really think that TFE killed more percentage wise? That tens of thousands half-skaa and women killed every year would be even close to Roman losses sustained during the Germanic campaign or numerous revolts Romans had crushed? The Roman Empire was far from being stable. And had so many revolts on a scale, which the Final Empire never saw. The presence of the Old Gate district in Luthadel suggests that the city was growing significantly in the last 1000 years, and new walls had to be built around it. If the city itself grew, why would you assume that the whole population of the Empire wasn't growing during the 1000 year long period? TFE ch 19: The book clearly shows that the capital was growing in population every few decades, therefore there is no reason to suggest that the entire Empire's population was stagnate, and wasn't growing at all. People simply moving into Luthadel doesn't make sense, as Skaa are forbidden from moving and traveling at all! Luthadel growth had to come from population growth, not migration. And therefore the entire Empire would grow as well.
