My dad isn't a huge reader, and my mom doesn't really like fantasy books. I've got my little brother to read the Mistborn books and Secret History, but cat get him to read Elantris or any other Cosmere books. Which books are the favorites in your household?

I think White Sand 2 comes out when Oathbringer comes out, but I'm not sure. Which Cosmere book I should your favorite?

Also, I'm not a huge fan of the fashion, so I don't really remember much about the clothing in Sanderson's books, sorry. I'll try to keep an eye out once I start my Sanderson reread.

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...

Oh, I know that. I just found it weird that our post counts are so close when he's such a better theorizer than me. Speaking of which, when did you pass 2,000 posts? -

I know, but you're already getting close up there with the big dogs, in my opinion. -
Man, I wish I could upvote this because you made a really great point. Sadly I'm out of upvotes for today though. Good job on this post! Also, yeah, this forum is amazing, at first, it's kind of shocking how nice everyone is here. Usually you expect there to be some mean people in basically every corner of the internet, but everyone here is so nice! It really is one of my favorite parts about this forum. I don't know if you've heard of it, but there is a section of the forum called Sanderson Elimination, which is basically the party game mafia but with Sanderson-based roles (such as allomancers or Radiants). In the online mafia world, we're known as the Gentleman Killers.

Aww, okay. I just thought it was weird that my post count is catching up with one of the big legends of the theorizers. -
We actually know that only certain spren can bond to make Radiants/Surgebinders. Honorspren bond with Windrunner, Highspren with Skybreakers, Cryptics with Lightweavers, Inkspren with Elsecallers, etc. (I don't think we know all of the specific spren that make each order, but we know each order has its own spren) Also, no, simple spren such as firespren or rotspren can't be bonded to make Radiants. EDIT: If you're curious, here is where you can find all of the orders of Radiants.

[OB] Akinah - location and significance (spoilers of course)
StrikerEZ replied to Extesian's topic in Stormlight Archive
While this does make sense on it's own, you're missing one key point: Soulcasters (the people) use Shadesmar to Soulcast objects, and as they use it more and more, they grow closer to Shadesmar and start to become like the object they Soulcast. It's speculated that this is because, unlike Elsecallers or Lightweavers, they have no spren blocking the negative effects of Soulcastigng on their spiritweb. -

Yeah, that's true. I dunno, I just love them so much, even if we only got a short story from them. SotD is probably my favorite short story. Of course, there's also Secret History and Edgedancer, but those are cool for different reasons. -
Yeah, I hate getting spoiled as well. I actually had the end of the first and third Mistborn books spoiled for me. (Major Mistborn spoilers-don't read if you haven't read the first trilogy)

You know you are a Sanderfan when... Part 3
StrikerEZ replied to Tesh's topic in General Brandon Discussion
Well, I think the other topic is perfectly fine. There's no post limit on topics anymore, so we don't need a new one. -
@Leiasqz That's so cool! I never would've been able to guess that plot twist! (FYI, don't talk about spoilers here You haven't yet, just warning you) Also, there should be a little eye button up with the italics, bold, etc. That will make a little spoiler section you can put things in.

Nice. That's a good way to get introduced to Brandon. My first Sanderson book I've ever read was Steelheart. I loved it, so I quickly read Firefight, but then I had to wait forever for Calamity. But then I read The Rithmatist, which was really good. And then I stopped there because my middle school library didn't have any of his other books. I read Calamity last year, and I was so satisfied that it was finally finished. But it wasn't until around the very end of last year that I got online and was searching up stuff about The Reckoners that I discovered this forum and the Cosmere. And the rest is history.

Most Overrated Character
StrikerEZ replied to Toaster Retribution's topic in General Brandon Discussion
This so much. Vathi and Dusk are two of my favorite Cosmere characters ever, so I'm always so sad to see how little love they get. But I don't think any characters are really overrated for me. I kind of like all of Sanderson's characters, really. I liked Marsh, but I never quite understood why everyone thought he was so cool. Sure, it's interesting what happened to him, but I dunno. He always felt like a side character to me, so it was weird how important he became and the fact there was such a following around him. Oh, I don't get why Axies seems to be so popular. Sure, it was funny reading his interlude, but I basically forgot about him afterwards. He wasn't all the memorable to me. -
Yes! Mistborn is my favorite as well. It was my first Cosmere book ever, and it absolutely blew me away. I'm honestly more excited for the next Wax &a Wayne book then I am Oathbringer. But that's mainly because Oathbringer is already so close. Which book was your first?

If you haven't heard of it yet, there's Sanderson Elimination. It's basically like the party game Mafia, but with several roles based off of characters/powers from Sanderson's books. It's really fun!
