  1. Yeah, the Stormlight Archive is definitely really cool, and you do need to read it. Personally, I found it more fun to read it last because then I was able to catch all of the little secrets.
  2. That's definitely true there. I don't think I've ever truly disliked one of his books. Except maybe The Emperor's Soul, but that wasn't bad. Just boring for me.
  3. Hmmm...that is really weird. I think we'll just have to wait for @Chaos to get here and see what he thinks.
  4. Yeah, I guess. Most of my stories aren't anywhere near being written, but I've thought about them a whole lot and have everything planned out. I just don't know how to get it on the page.
  5. Heh, that's definitely true. And is kind of funny, because that's how Sanderson himself feels about that too (along with picking a favorite character). And the Rithmatist is a good book too! It would've been interesting to see what Rithmatist would've been like in the Cosmere, because it was originally planned to be a Cosmere book. Stormlight Archive is definitely a good choice. My personal favorites are Hero of Ages, Warbreaker, Words of Radiance, and Sixth of the Dusk. Okay, that last one is a short story, but whatever.
  6. Is having more than 5 WIP and several plans for stories at once a bad thing too?
  7. Hey, welcome to the Shard, @uglyllama! Sadly I've hit my upvote limit for today, but have a free spiked delicious cookie instead! I only just discovered the Cosmere at the very end of last year. Which Cosmere book is your favorite so far? Also, no kidding about Oathbringer. Everyone here is basically dying in anticipation.
  8. @Mekyo Wow, that sounds tough, honestly. Like @ccstat said, I'm sure that Chaos can help out with that, but it does sound weird how that's working though. Also, the reason it didn't tag me when you tried to is that the "Z" wasn't capitalized. Both the "E" and "Z" are supposed to be capitalized in my username. They might help solve that problem. Plus, what ccstat said about the drop-down username selection when you type in @
  9. Yeah, that ending just blows your mind when you first read it. Luckily for me, I had a copy of AU so I was able to read SH right after BoM.
  10. Does having a song stuck in your head count as listening to it? If so, I have Little Fugue in G minor by J.S. Bach stuck in my head. Mostly because Carolina Crown plays it in the start of their opener this year.
  11. Yessssssssss! I'm not really playing any video games, but I felt I had to say that because Undertale is amazing.
  12. This is basically how I feel all the time. It's not too bad because I live near Dallas, and big population centers like that tend to lean more liberal and/or less religious, but it's far enough away where lots of people are overly religious. Plus, my parents are overly religious and biased about it. How my parents have treated me under their religion is part of what pushed me away from it, along with doing some research and thinking on my own.
  13. @Calderis *hugs* *all of the hugs* I've never had to deal with a pet dying before, because I don't have any, but man that's rough. I know what it's like to blame yourself over something like this, and I'm just gonna tell you to not let it eat you up inside. It doesn't make it any better, trust me.
  14. Hey, you should feel proud about your post count! By the time Oathbringer's out, you'll probably be close to 4,000. Also, my post count has increased by about 100 in the last couple days, mainly due to how many introduction posts I've been doing. And I keep running out of upvotes because I'm nice and upvote the newbies.

But I'd actually suggest reading Stormlight Archive last, after you've read the rest of the Cosmere. There's so many hints from the other books that you can try and catch, and you'll completely miss out on those without having finished everything else. After Mistborn, I'd recommend reading Mistborn: Secret History, which is one of the short stories in Arcanum Unbounded. After that, I'd recommend reading Elantris, which is Brandon's first published book, then Warbreaker, which can be found for free on Brandon's website. Of course, that's my recommendation, but you can read Stormlight first, if you want. Either way, welcome to the site and enjoy the Cosmere!
  17. Hey, if you want, you can make yourself a new topic to introduce yourself in!

  20. You've basically read everything. All you're missing is White Sand, a graphic novel, and Arcanum Unbounded, a collection of short stories all set in the Cosmere.

  22. Ah, okay then.
  23. @ThePathsofPain Aww, I would've suggested reading the Atormlight Archive last. There are so many little hints to the Cosmere that make more sense if you've read Elantris and Warbreaker (Warbreaker can be found for free on Brandon's website). I guess you can read it in any order, but I always try to recommended SA last.
  24. Hmmm...without spoiling too much, just watch out for how certain characters behave.
  25. Yeah, I know. But I'm a pretty fast reader. I finished both SA books in about 4-5 days, I think. Not in a row, but that's how much time it took me. And yes, I've read that one too. That one made me rethink everything as well. It was insane.
