So, this is a bit late, but my birthday was on Friday (it's Sunday night now). On Friday night, some of my friends and I went to this place called 1 Hour to Escape. Basically, it's what it sounds like, you're trapped in a room and given an hour to escape. It was so much fun, and though we were a bit panicky at the end we managed to finish with about seven and a half minutes left. We also later found out that at the very start of the hour, my dad had been pressing random buttons on the final lock and had accidentally got the right code. Would've been funny if we'd won that way, but it was more fun having to do it the right way. Yesterday I went to Barnes and Noble to spend the money I didn't gotten for my birthday to buy the first two Stormlight books. The first store we went to didn't have them both in hardcover, so they were helpful and put a hardcover copy of WoK on hold for me at a different store. When I got to the other store to pick up my book, I was short about a dollar. At the first store, I had just told them my mom's email and for some reason got a 20% discount. The guy at the counter was so nice and just gave me the discount. I felt so embarrassed that I had spent so much time trying to get another email or something to work and so grateful that he had been kind enough to help me out like that. I wanted to give him a tip, but he said he couldn't take it. It was a fun weekend, though today was pretty boring.

@phoenix2563 OLD KINGDOM!!!! I know I'm late, but you need to read the Old Kingdom series. It's one of my favorites and it's absolutely amazing. And don't worry, it's not very dark at all. It's been awhile since I've read it, but I don't remember anything too dark. Also, how much do people recommend me to read Powder Mage? I have it on my list, but I have no time for it.

Same. Any time anyone asks for book suggestions now, I immideaitely bring up Sanderson. I got my little brother to read both eras of Mistborn and SotD, but I can't get him to read anything else sadly. I also got another one of my friends to read the first era of Mistborn.
