  1. Nonintervention? I recall they were hunting Hoid, and we haven't learned anything else of their agenda or motives... Plus, with Kelsier learning of the Sixteen shards in Secret History, it makes sense that he would have Seventeenth as his group name since it'd be just his cocky style.
  2. Granted, however they always look unfashionable, no matter what style you have done to them, they're always in your eyes, and people always suspect you're wearing a wig no matter how much proof you give them. (And it's technically the worst comb-over in history...) I wish for bogeys that would explode upon impact with something (or someone) when flicked.
  3. I still think Kelsier is the leader of the 17th Shard, since Demoux was on Roshar with others hunting Hoid, and was one of the most fervent worshippers of Kel. Plus the idea of Kelsier going on a Cosmere-wide recruiting montage to get Galladon and Baon and others is just too awesome to not be true. Rule of Cool, guys!
  4. Granted, however you have to wear a bright orange tracksuit whenever you do. I wish I could create diamonds and other gems from the pressure of my grip.
  5. How many bullets would it take to shatter Shardplate? Just wondering if a Scadrial sniper could take out a Shardbearer...
  6. Nope! Remember, I said may have been to Scadrial, we know Nazh has from SH and one of the broadsheet advertisments.
  7. Nope! This character is not a Scadrian, but may have been on Scadrial.
  8. I believe Brandon has also confirmed that there are still mines and some gems underground, (Shallan originally wanted Jasnah's Soulcaster to make more mines and veins of ore and marble for her family after all) but nowhere near as much as there are in animals. Animals have gemhearts, are bred for them, and the Parsh aren't used as a source for it... though probably mainly because the humans don't know that they have gemhearts. If I recall correctly the gemheart is pearly white and somewhat fused to the sternum to camoflauge it. A surgeon like Kaladin would probably be able to find one through dissection, but a run of the mill Alethi/human trying to hack one open in search of riches? Nope.
  9. If I remember rightly, I think it's more akin to quantum entanglement and string threory than superimpoisition, since we can see the spren, but until it's defined as a specific measurement then it becomes rigid, rather than being in two specific different states... Though technically that IS collapsing the waveform... Hmm. I need to refresh my brain on some of these theories (and probably get some sleep xD)
  10. Nope! Also nope! This character is male. (If I give away too many specific hints it should be easy so I'm starting off broad...)
  11. I'm at work at the moment and can't get into this as properly as I'd like, but I do agree on quite a few points, especially that Brandon seems to be developing a trope of arranged marriages work out. I could get into my theory about Brandon's possible feelings on the sanctity of marriage etc. being similar to his choices in keeping the characters from swearing like a SoIaF character. (Or even a middle ground since there's a HELL of a difference between the two types of cursing etc.) but I digress. I just wanted to chime in with my own hopes for how Shallan and Adolin and Kaladin will end up, since the love triangle shebang felt rather rushed and shallow, we didn't even get any significant interaction between Kaladin and Shallan aside from the one conversation in Shadesmar where their respective focuses on their own mental health issues makes Shallan decide that Adolin is better for her... They've both seen different sides of her, but Kaladin, I still think, has seen the real Shallan more than Adolin. And while it was a dumb thing for Kaladin to say to Shallan, possibly the worst thing for hurting his chances, I completely agree with him. As someone who suffers from depression the idea of being able to compartmentalise it and seal it off to simply allow myself to function is a hell of a thing I wish I could do sometimes myself. ..... I said I couldn't get into this as properly as I like at the start, didn't I? Well bugger that somewhat, I guess. Anyhoo, the hopes I have for Shallan, Kaladin and Adolin, are that they'll end up in a Polyamorous relationship with one another. I don't care how it comes about, but they all work great with each other, and I sincerely think they'd all be great for one another, even Kaladin and Adolin. I'd think it's still a (pretty damnation remote) possibility if it wasn't for Shallan and Adolin's marriage.... Not just because Brandon has the trope of making arranged marriages work out, but because of the setting of Stormlight, the importance of vows and oaths etc (which is also something Brandon seems to consider with all of his characters/writing, since I don't think we ever get to see anyone in a relationship (aside from maybe some Nobles in Mistborn) commit infidelity. Brandon seems to consider that when you're in a relationship, you're in one, though Vin and Zane come close...) and because of the political turmoil for both of them. I also ship Kaladin and Jasnah somewhat, so there's at least that (and I will laugh myself silly... okay, sillier, if Jasnah at one point offhandedly mentions to Shallan how attractive Kaladin is.), but I would also be very happy if Kaladin becomes a forbidden fruit and boytoy/affair or even just sexbuddy with Shallan, because good gods that man needs some companionship and release. And there we go, there's my rambling!
  12. Granted, however your ant is protective of you, and will set fire to anyone who comes within three feet of you without making a proper offering to it first, and it makes it damnably difficult to sleep at night with how brightly it glows and flickers. I wish for the power to create ice from my hands as I please.
  13. Well it could be a lot of people who don't want to be burned alive, but of course the first idea is the almighty Stick.
  14. Granted, however the chap you win it with is a sadist with a particular sense of irony, and has you thrown down a chute and tries to beat you to death with a ladder as you finish sliding. Poor sportsmanship, that. I wish to have a 360 degree range of vision.
  15. Given that Scadrial has no moons, and Roshar has many, will we ever see a Scadrian native, first-time worldhopper being stunned at seeing a moon for the first time? Or a Rosharan-native marvelling at the lack of any on Scadrial? And since we have WOB confirmation that Human is alive, will we see him again? Perhaps as the Koloss Elder or something similar?
  16. Granted, you know for certain whether or not Kelsier is the Sovereign. However you cannot tell anyone, nor give hints in any way or form until it's confirmed one way or another by Brandon either in the books or through WOBs. Then you can say you knew it all along, and see if anyone believes you... Good luck! I wish to know the secret of making a Bio-Chromatic Entity as strong as Nightblood, preferably without his tendency to devour people who aren't Invested enough.
  17. Granted. However you become so smart everyone around you cannot understand or translate the new language you instinctively create and speak to better convey your words and thoughts, and you lose the ability to understand those around you, hearing only neanderthalic grunts and seeing chickenscratch and squiggles when you look at writing. I wish to be able to breathe underwater and survive great pressure so I can swim to the bottom of the ocean.
  18. Granted. As you wonder where it is, a shadow suddenly covers you, slowly growing larger and larger as you look up to see what's causing that funny shape... I wish for wireless headphones that never need recharging, and can connect to anything I choose.
  19. Ah yeah, I vaguely half remembered that answer, that's why I was curious about Lifeless, since IIRC, a stab through the heart wouldn't kill a Lifeless, would it?
  20. Didn't Brandon once say that healing was done by making your Physical form match up with the Spiritual, perfect version of it, filtered through the Cognitive self? Or was that in reference to something like aging? Or am I completely derping and making this up somehow? Oh no, I mean could you spike a Lifeless who has Allomancy/Feruchemy through the heart to take it, without killing them.
  21. This is actually something I've wondered about in the back of my mind (Along with what someone who's identity doesn't match their physical body would look like in the Cognitive Realm), and I think it probably could, and with the use of unkeyed Goldminds we may see something similar on Scadrial in Era 3, or if not certainly by the time we get to the Space Opera... Building on your spoiled point;
