  1. Screaming woke Cassius from his bed. Not again! Not another Coinshot, please!... He flung himself out of bed, pressing his hands against the window and feeling it, searching for a crack that could indicate that the screaming was his own. Nothing; the glass was smooth. That taken care of, Cassius threw on a robe and rushed for the door, leaving it unlocked behind him as he hurled himself out into the mists. Captain Cassius, as he sometimes preferred to call himself, valued decisiveness over caution. The screaming stopped, but not before Cassius had determined that it had come from a low rooftop above him. He bounded onto a crate that leaned haphazardly against the wall, grabbed the rooftop's edge, and pulled. Something in the robe ripped, but Cassius kept it on. It would not do to be scandalous at a time like this. His muscular biceps clenched, and he practically flew onto the roof. It was an awful sight to see. Nicki's body lay on the rooftop. From her chest protruded a length of shiny metal spike. She was still breathing, but it was ragged and shallow. He didn't know if she would make it or not. But what was Cassius supposed to do? He couldn't get help; there wasn't time, and his robe was not exactly formal material. He didn't know much first aid; he once had had a girlfriend who was a surgeon, but it was she who had done the first aid on him (long story). The only thing that he could think of doing was performing rescue breathing, but realized that that would appear even more scandalous then busting into someone's quarters wearing nothing but a ripped robe. And so Cassius just stood there on the rooftop, watching Nicki's body struggle for life. @Arraenae What happens is completely up to you.
  2. @Silverblade5 Ryth, we could have that by lynching Nyali instead of Rae. That way, if Nyali turns out evil, we could have avoided wasting a lynch on Rae's pewter. Unrelated, do you guys think that using Herwynbe's book I could Spike some of Dalinar's appearance? He had some really nice forearms.
  3. Ryth, what makes Nyali less suspicious now? I found her more suspicious than Rae yesterday, and now that Rae is confirmed to have Pewter like she claimed I'm even more suspicious of Nyali. Wilson, I doubt that all of those manips are due to Mistborn. We're averaging one manip per cycle, and running the probabilities we'd need at least 8 Mistborn in the game to consistently equal that. @little wilson @Silverblade5
  4. I've taken Myers-Briggs before, and I'm an ISTJ. Basically, the logical introvert that's pretty blunt.
  5. This might be totally wrong, but didn't Secret History say that Ruin did not know how to Shatter Preservation, or else he would have? That suggests that Odium is not the only one who can shatter Shards, just the only one who has the motivation and know-how to.
  6. I pronounce it EDGE-lee. I think English grammar would pronounce it like that as well, given that AFAIK we have never split a syllable between D and G. For example, 'edgy' is 'edg-y'.

  8. Answer: Look at the bright side. At least it isn't one of Rock's 'specialties'. Problem: Stuck in the friendzone.
  9. Someone messed with the votes again. Let me check... Someone Soothed Stick, and I kinda want to know who. I'm getting in the shower right now, but after I'm out I'm going to cross-reference the Soothed votes with the voting patterns thus far. Soothers are usually pretty suave, so it'll also help me find the competition. Edit: --After I'm out of the shower-- CAPTAIN CASSIUS (cue heroic fanfare) presents: Find the competition Who's the Soother? Or are they really a Rioter? Day 1: HH was Soothed/Rioted, possibly by Ecth. Players who had motivation to soothe: HH (possible Rioter), Seonid (voted on him), Gamma (ditto), Ecth (self pres), Rae (ditto), Doc (ditto) Day 2: Hero was Soothed/Rioted Motivated players: Jon (voted on him; this only works if Jon is a Mistborn), Stick (ditto), Wyrm (ditto), Wilson (ditto), Hero (possible Riot on Dalinar to no-vote) Dalinar was Soothed/Rioted Motivated players: Burgundy (voted on him), Gamma (ditto), Seonid (ditto), Nyali (ditto), Arin (ditto), Mage (ditto), Bugsy (ditto), Drake (ditto) Day 3: Lopen was Soothed and maybe Rioted on top of that Motivated Players: Joe (ditto), Manukos (ditto), HH (ditto), Rae (ditto) Day 4: Stick was Soothed/Rioted Motivated Players: Anyone on the Nyali bandwagon aiming to disrupt the Rae lynch. That's Jon (if he's a Mistborn), Arin, Rae, Mad Matilda, Seonid, Sart, El Breakdown: Implicated in all 5: nobody Implicated in 4: nobody Implicated in 3: Seonid, Rae Implicated in 2: HH, Gamma, Jon (if he's a Mistborn) Implicated in 1: A lot of players A pattern I'm seeing is that there appear to be 2 very different Soothers/no-vote Rioters at work (both of whom manipped the D2 lynch). I'll call them the Bandwagoner and the Tactician. The Bandwagoner Soothes the votes of one of the two biggest lynch candidates. They hit Dalinar D2 and Lopen D3. The Tactican nullifies the votes of those not up for lynch who voted in a bandwagon on someone who was. They hit HH D1, Hero D2, and Stick D4. The bottom line: I'd bet that one of Seonid, Rae, HH, Gamma, and Jon is a smooth operator (Soother/Rioter) trying to move in on me. Brought to you by: CAPTAIN CASSIUS
  10. I still fail to see how Nicki's advocating for vigilante justice was a problem. The worst that could have happened was the vigilante failing, and the best that could have happened would have been removal of competition *coughs* Dalinar being killed sooner.

  12. I have time for more RP! *tipsy but not fully drunk* To help pass the time, let me tell you all a story: I was 20, a handsome young gent just trying to make his way in the world. I had taken up mining in an effort to further develop my already-sculpted abs, but upon finding that it is a most dirty and demeaning career (the men most definitely did not wear cologne, which is worse even than wearing too much) I had quit my job and struck out looking for work. While on my journey, I chanced to stop by a small town as night fell, and decided to stop for the night in the inn. Upon entering, I was greeted by a most odious scene. A drunk man, who was also exuding some very un-gentleman-like smells, was ogling a pair of beautiful women seated at a near table. Now I am a man of no small amount of restraint, but when I saw that scene I could feel my blood boil, and I am afraid to say that I may have done something rash. Running from the doorway and leaping up upon an unoccupied table, I cried out, “Stop, brute! No gentleman would treat a lady like that!” He turned and said some things that I would prefer not to repeat, and then rushed at me. I was faster, of course. My lean muscles carried me six feet in the air, and the brute crashed into the table below me. I fell to earth like a graceful hammer striking an ugly anvil, and the brute groaned and fell. The room was silent. Mouths stood agape. So I did the first thing that I thought of: pulled up a chair next to those two beautiful women whom that man had been ogling, pulled out a fistful of boxings from my pocket, and said, “Drinks are on me, ladies.”
  13. Please put me on the MR list for a Hidden Information game set on Roshar. On a related note, I'm looking for a more-experienced player to help me ensure that the balancing is correct. Said player would not be able to play the game due to them having inside information.
  14. I'm not liking that whole Abundance deal snooping around. It's not gentleman-like, which means I don't like it. I'm always so gentleman-like, right? *murmurs of assent* See, what did I tell you all? Anyway, I think this Rae lady is innocent because even if she did object to Dalinar being killed by an angry mob, so did I. Mob violence is bad, almost like an overly-cologned suit. Those are worse. But mob violence is almost that bad. And... where was I? Cologne. That must have been it. And this lady Nyali. She doesn't like Rae? That's un-ladylike. Scandalous almost. We need to remedy that, before society crashes down and becomes uncivilized, corrupt, and ruled by mobs. Oh wait. Ah, where was I? Oh yes, cologne. My favorite scent is Ashmount, except the Urteau brands. I am very selective when it comes to my cologne, and that Urteau stuff isn't nearly high-class enough for my taste.
  15. @Argent Go to a local thrift store, buy a framed (and ugly) piece of art in a suitable size, sacrifice the art to the trash can, and use the frame.
  16. @KnightRadiant Your post itself illustrates your point exactly.
  17. I'm with Mad Matilda for this one. Rae could have at any time backed off from her accusations of Dalinar, but she didn't, and it wasn't my staggering hotness that was keeping her around; it was actual suspicion.
  18. So I looked over Wonko's posts, and couldn't find anything elim-y in them. I guess what got me suspicious of him was that Rioting done by non-voters, and Wonko was on at just the right times to do that. But since there's a good chance that's just coincidence, he's off the hook, at least for now. (*gasp* Len, you actually let someone off the hook for once?) *shrugs* Elim!Len would, but that's me. Unrelated, while Lopen was still among the living, he said: Just sayin'.
  19. Eh, it seemed to me that those suspicions had mostly dispersed. I, for one, voted for Lopen over Dalinar, but after Dalinar was revealed evil that reset my read on Lopen to 50/50.
  20. "You've gotta be kidding me," Cassius said. "Do you have any idea how the stench of rotting flesh ruins the ambiance? It's like inviting a (trigger warning) Mistwraith to a barbecue." Before he died, Lopen expressed suspicion that the Spiked have at least one extra Mistborn. Either they have a living Lurcher and Coinshot, a village Coinshot made a very unlucky choice last night, or Lopen was right. I'm leaning the latter. Joe earlier expressed suspicion of Jon. While I could get behind that, I also want to look more into Wonko. Stand by for analysis.
  21. Although Cassius had decided to say little, his evening in the pub loosened his tongue, and he found himself talking about some of his gut reads about who was behind these attacks. "Since Dalinar ended up being Spiked, I'm less suspicious of Lopen. I'm not really inclined to trust him, but he's back to 50/50. Wilson is as inscrutable as always. I agree with Lopen in that Wonko seems suspicious, because he notably did not vote, and also some of his posts have set off my gut, although I was unable to pick out anything in particular."
  22. I've got some suspicions, but right now I think it's better for me to keep them to myself, particularly since it's a night turn and I'd prefer not to get killed if I'm on the right track.
  23. Huh, forgot about that. But who would manip Lopen's vote without even voting on him?
