I'm one of those guys who is perpetually skinny. I'm 5'10" and 145 pounds, and I eat more food than most, mostly carbs. Whatever I do, I can't gain weight, and my exercise doesn't make me lose weight either. I'm just stuck at 145, which, admittedly, isn't that far off from normal, but my point is that our bodies do indeed have a weight that they want to stay at, or at least mine does.

I am in the new LG, but since the cycles are long I think I can make this one work. Signing up as Brandir Sebarial, an amateur astronomer. Rumor has it that he has a habit of stalking people with his telescope, but rumors are just rumors, right?

The Full Feruchemist. With that you would have access to Steel to destroy your foes before they can react, pewter to resist fatigue, and gold to protect you from lucky hits. With enough juice, you might just pull it off. The alternative is getting cut down by Steel compounding before you make a move. Would you rather have a Gemheart or a Lifeless servant?

@Cognizantastic I have the same problem! I began taking college-level classes as a high-school sophomore, and got a 36 on the ACT that same year, and people started looking at me like I was some sort of walking computer. And then some people took it further, attributing things to me that I didn't do, which is really awkward to defuse. Also, everyone always tries to compete with me in test scores, etc. because they want to prove to their friends how smart they are. They don't understand that I'm human, too. They don't see my weaknesses; only my strengths. And so they think that I'm on another level than them, when really it's because I'm paying attention in class while they're chatting with their friends or playing on their phone. It's even affected my dating life: it's hard to date a girl you're compatible with if she assumes that she isn't smart enough for you.

The Good News Thread: I'm So Excited! And I Just Can't Hide It!

Hitting the God the Father versus Christ discussion again, LDS belief is that Christ was the eldest spiritual son of the Father, and that he was selected before the creation of the world for the "mission" of performing the atonement. Jesus Christ was different than others on earth because he was not formed by a man and a woman; Mary conceived while still a virgin. Jesus was placed in Mary by the power of God, so He, even while on Earth, was more than a man, which is what made it possible for Him to be resurrected.

The LDS belief is that God the Father and Jesus Christ have separate, physical, tangible bodies, and that the Holy Ghost has a form but has no tangible body, which is indeed not a standard belief of general Christendom. While I am not Catholic, you have a great point. Even if we don't agree on the exact interpretation of scripture, what we can agree on is to follow the example of Christ: give to the poor, honor thy father and thy mother, do not commit adultery, and so on.

I've had my fair share of wacky dreams. My last one, I had the ability to teleport up to 15 feet in any direction by performing 10 seconds of mental meditation, and turn myself invisible instantly; and for some reason I decided to use my abilities to break a friend of mine out of prison (I don't even know anybody in prison). Well, I get to the prison, and it's laid out just like my high school, except instead of classrooms each door is a cell. And then the guards got tipped off that I was coming in, and the head prison guard was one of the school's guidance counselors. I had a team of people with me, none of whom had any special powers, and they were so noisy that they got busted. I managed to teleport away and turn invisible, but for some reason my shoes kept making a loud clacking anytime I stepped, and so I found myself chased through the halls while invisible, with the guidance counselor in pursuit. I sneaked and ran around the prison/school all night.

A few mechanics questions: 1. Is there a restriction on the number of actions you can perform in a cycle? If there are multiple actions, can you perform the same action multiple times? 2. How does Feruchemical Storing work? Can you Store and Tap a metal on the same turn? 3. Just to confirm: Copper does not protect from Atium? Boris pored over his ledgers, glancing from them to the inventory sheet and back again. Steel shipments: all accounted for. Charms to ward off Kandra: all accounted for. Grain barges: still awaiting inventory. Keys: not all accou--never mind. Bargo's handwriting was just even more unreadable than usual. He made a good manager, sure, but his writing looked like it was done with an Inquisitor spike. Back to the ledgers. Construction paneling: accounted for. Paint:-- Boris pulled the inventory sheet to within an inch of his nose and scrutinized the number that Bargo had written. It appeared to be five too low, but you never knew with Bargo's writing. "Bargo, can you come over here and confirm these figures?" Bargo sauntered over, a younger male skaa with a face that kept its soot-stained look no matter how hard he scrubbed. Working on the docks did that to a man. "Wat seems to be da mattah?" His speech was nearly as bad as his looks--both were the kind of thing you'd expect to find in the slums--but Bargo had an instinct for organization that could rival even some of the Nobles' merchants, so Boris tolerated him. "Does that number mean what I think it does?" "Ya mean does it mean that we lost five cans? Dat it does. Whole case o' 'em, last night I'd wageh." "If they had all the time of the night to work, why do you think they contented themselves with just five cans?" "Real 'onorable guys, I reckon. Take jus' wat dey need." "Honorable? Bah." Boris walked away, muttering to himself as he went, "First roofing, now paint. What could they possibly want with the stuff, and what else will they take?"

Interesting theory! My one counterpoint is this: Skybreakers do not have access to Adhesion, but their name suggests that they can fly like the Windrunners, suggesting that flight is based on Gravitation, which both orders share.

Anniversary Game 3: The Curse of the Koloss
Elenion replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
As others have stated in the dead doc, I think Wyrm and Madagascar are the definite frontrunners. As for my third, I think I'll go with Assassin, because of the stretching he did with what seemed like would be a very minor cosmetic role. Most if not all of his posts included some reference to the Ja more than just "Praise the Ja", and he was even attempting to religion-bash with our resident Survivorist and Capitalist (although we all know which of those is the best).- 1403 replies
