  1. Hurt White Sand, heal Alloy of Law. Sorry, tablet won't paste the updated list. Ugh.
  2. Judging by the Lopen vote mishap, we know that he was Soothed and probably Rioted on top of that. The Soothing removed the Rioted vote. Chances are that out of the 5 of us who voted on Lopen, at least one is a vote manip. Oh, don't mind me. Just burning some extra paper, that's all. No incriminating letters here.
  3. Hold on... Lopen claimed Lurcher? (Dalinar) Combined with the grammar slip that Rae and I caught him on earlier, the alarm bells are tolling for him being that Spiked Lurcher that we're pretty sure exists. If Lopen does turn out to be the Spiked Lurcher, then our Coinshot (assuming they aren't Spiked) can kill Dalinar at their leisure. If he isn't, then we can probe the Spiked's defenses with an attack and force them to either let the kill through or reveal that they've still got a Lurcher.
  4. Solution: Go leaping around in the mists pretending you're a Mistborn. Who needs sleep? Problem: Your leg hair sheds like crazy (actual problem).
  5. Straw has a habit of going less and less active as games go on, so I assumed that the Coinshot took the Contribution Crusade into their own hands.
  6. The problem with that is you're actually not building up real speed; only the appearance of it. The water running example works because the "apparent" speed of your foot is many times faster than the water's breaking apart. However, this doesn't work with gravity because, as I extrapolated above, its pull on you increases (instead of 9.81 meters per second for everyone, it's 9.81 meters per second to your point of view and much more than that to everyone else). So even if you Compound speed, gravity scales to match, and so you still can't get more than 2 steps on the wall. If the idea of gravity scaling is throwing you off, then I can show you the math that requires it to. @Oversleep
  7. While I cannot condone the killing of any man, Dalinar has proven that he is a Mistborn, and I have little trust in him at this moment. If he does die by a mob, then we will have information on which to base our analysis of Stick, Lopen, etc.
  8. I definitely enjoyed Cassius' mention. When my turn comes around on the GM list, I'm definitely doing this.
  9. I love doing stuff like this, with Google's help of course. Some Googling tells me that heating due to friction against the air is negligible at subsonic speeds. So as long as your Steelrunner doesn't break the sound barrier (340.29 m/s, or 767.29 MPH), you're completely safe from burning up. You probably wouldn't want to go any faster than that in any "real-world" scenarios, anyway. Interesting question. Running up walls I say no to, because gravity appears to affect Steelrunners as if they were in normal time (else they could get no traction on the ground because they'd have to float slowly down after each step). This makes sense due to the Steelrunner's Connection to their planet. Therefore, their speed wouldn't help them, so they wouldn't be able to run on a wall any more than you or I could. As for running on water, I'll give that a tentative yes. Because the Steelrunning doesn't affect the water's surface tension like it does the Steelrunner's gravity, it would be the same as if an extremely fast human ran on normal water. A human going 30 m/s could do this (source), so I don't see why a Steelrunner couldn't. Basically, the Steelrunner would feel like they were running on a cornstarch/water mixture (YouTube the MythBusters doing that if you're unfamiliar with the concept).
  10. Lies! I never received any letters from anyone! That thing in the fire, that's... that's... that's it. I'll level with you, okay? But I didn't kill Vomit. Last night, I heard glass break. Fearing that some distressed maiden might be in need of my assistance, I quickly rose and dressed. Running out into the street, I saw a dark figure shoot off into the night. A coinshot, leaving behind a shattered window. Of course, that made it only more likely that a damsel was in distress, so I peered in the window moustache-first. And here, sitting on a table right next to the window, was one of my letters, with the wax seal open, and Vomit slumped over in a chair. I thought he was just sleeping. The nerve of him to intercept my letters! So I took my letter from him, the scalawag, and took it home to read. And here comes the morning, and guess what the news is? I panicked, of course, and threw the letter in the fire. Apparently my aim was not as good as my looks.
  11. Actually, Sheep's game is open for signups right now. The signup thread is here. A warning: it's a nontraditional mafia game, so make sure to read the rules thoroughly.

  13. One was me, because RP-wise crediting the Ja for Dalinar's survival totally makes sense, but was something I'd not thought of before. @Assassin in Burgundy
  14. The Emissary of Mandos picked up Nightblood and laughed. Of course I knew about what I was doing, [random stranger Ecth]. In my study of the events of the Cosmere, the conversation between Jack and Lorna did not go unnoticed. But it is Mandos' will to bring about a restructuring of balance in the Cosmere. First Cuddles, now JOdium. Powerful weapons in the hands of capable wielders. The best is yet to come. @A Joe in the Bush @Ecthelion III
  15. It appears that someone Soothed/Rioted Dalinar as well as Hero. I'm going to bed since Cassius needs his beauty sleep (it's nearly 1 in the morning my time), but I would most appreciate if someone would compare the votes cast yesterday to the vote tally to see if there are any more discrepancies.
  16. Bandwagoning... instincts... too... strong... Stick Dalinar Because in case of Meta giving the elims unholy amounts of vote manip and the village an excess of smokers (which I could totally see Meta doing), you can never be too cautious.
  17. @Assassin in Burgundy Glad you like it; I feel the same way. However, many other players do not share our feelings. As for alignment questions, I'll PAFO anything of that nature, and may restrict my truthfulness to only non-thread statements like PMs or Docs. What I would do is commit to players that I wouldn't pass on certain information to anyone, or to a faction that I will give them immediate notice if I'm converted to ___ faction.
  18. Question: anyone know of any good Soothing parlors around here? I don't like the idea of killing anyone with mob violence, and I'll need some way to deal with the remorse. However, if I do want to kill anyone, it would be Stick, Lopen, or anyone good-looking who might be competition.
  19. Another thing, Lopen, since when is it "the" Spiked Lurcher versus "a" Coinshot? We don't know for sure that a Spiked Lurcher exists (although I definitely theorize it), and as far as we know the Spiked might have multiple. Now I know that this is mostly a semantics thing, so I'm going to hold my vote on Stick, but I want to point your wording out to everyone.
  20. I for one am of the (admittedly unpopular) opinion that Dalinar is innocent. Put yourself in your elim shoes: if a teammate of yours is going to get wiped out by a Coinshot in the dead of night, do you disclose that you have a Lurcher on your team? Elim!Len would cut his losses and lose Dalinar, thus keeping the Lurcher undetected. What I think happened is this: an alignment-undetermined Coinshot attacked Village Dalinar, who was saved by an Elim Coinshot. The elims have not done any work other than an anonymous Lurching, and they get the village to waste a lynch, a player, and their role. That said, if Dalinar is an elim, feel free to suspect me. I admit that I have changed my stance on Dalinar around in light of what happened. But this whole bandwagon just feels wrong. I'm going to contest the Dalinar lynch by voting Stick. A hard-cleared brother of mine obviously had some reason to suspect her, and although I don't know what it is (he didn't even have a PM with me) I'm inclined to trust his judgment.
  21. That's good to hear. I still think that I need a bit of a break, but it is definitely my plan to return (hence the hiatus instead of a total farewell). I'm also considering taking a vow of absolute truthfulness, which would make for no betrayals as well as giving me an challenge to work around when I'm an elim. But for now, adieu.
