  1. There are a lot of people on the forums that are better-suited to answer this than I, but here goes. 1. Nightblood is the only known object in the Cosmere that can cut through all three realms, Physical, Cognitive, and Spiritual. With a Lifeless army, sure you could subjugate nations more efficiently, but they would be completely ineffective against Cognitive beings and Shards. A Shardblade, for comparison, cuts in both the physical and cognitive realms, but not the spiritual. So basically, Nightblood is a Shardblade but on Realmatic steroids. 2. Nightblood's great cost to make is one of the things it so powerful. The more highly-Invested an object is, the more resistant it is to other Investiture. (Think of Investiture as "magic power".) You can see Investiture resistance in Bands of Mourning, where the Bands appear to be invisible to Steelsight. That isn't some warding enchantment; that's the Investiture in them. A Lifeless army would be at the mercy of Investiture-based attacks such as Radiant Division on Roshar, Soothing/Rioting Takeover on Scadrial, etc. Nightblood, on the other hand, would be completely immune to all forms of Investiture used against it. So basically, if you're talking about wiping out the next kingdom over, a Lifeless army is more efficient than Nightblood. But if you plan on going up against things like Shards, Cognitive Shadows, and hostile Investiture-users, Nightblood is the far superior choice. Hope this helps, and I'm sure within a few hours someone will be here with a better explanation, complete with all of the Words of Brandon about Nightblood.
  2. Cassius stood at the back of the crowd, watching Enias' body sway in the breeze. The breeze whipped the ash up, too, making a haze that stung the eyes and nose. A terrible business, lynching was, even more so when you had argued for the life of the dead man. That, and it drove away the ladies. Mostly the latter. Cassius sneezed, snapping him out of his thoughts before they could turn to romance. He had slept in in the morning, after hearing that scream, and now he felt like another party at the pub. Party, sleep, hangover, rouse a few crowds (and maybe a new date or two), party, sleep, repeat. That was Cassius' schedule, and he felt no inclination to deviate from it. And although today's crowd-rousing had been unsuccessful--maybe due to him forgetting to pack his Brass--he needed a diversion, so to the pub he went. As I mentioned in my RP, the lack of Soothing wasn't me hitting copper, I just forgot to put in a Soothing order. I was busy typing an essay for my English class and watching videos of trucks crashing into low bridges. (YouTube search '11foot8 Bridge' if you have 15 minutes to burn. You won't be disappointed.) Right now I'm slightly suspicious of Araris, though I've got nothing definite, and pretty suspicious of Wyrm for his voting habits. Assassin, Jondesu, and Wilson are good gut reads; HH is pretty neutral but slightly on the village side.
  3. Let's assume for a minute that Manukos is a Spiked Mistborn. Every elim has 4 assets that they can contribute to their team: 1. Role/actions 2. Vote 3. Trust from non-elims 4. PM contacts / roleclaims / plans Since there are no PMs in this game, Manukos can't contribute #4. Since he's promised to vote on himself and appears to be sticking to that, he can't contribute #2. Since he's openly suspected and usually isn't the type to create complex plans, he'll find it very hard to contribute #3. So really, he can only contribute his role, 1/3 as much as another elim in this game. And while it's obviously much better to get him than a villager, it's much better to get a more-trusted elim than him. I see why my logic strikes you as suspicious, and I agree that elims have used logic like it in the pass. The difference is, I'm actually trying to help you.
  4. I'm not liking this Manukos bandwagon: If we lynch him village the elims will be partying in the streets, and if he turns out as an elim then we really haven't hurt them that badly. To make a reasonable alternative, I'll consolidate my vote onto Mage. (Wyrm).
  5. Definitely the Shardblade. Fewer laughs, but you'd get a majestic weapon that would turn you into the ultimate safecracker. Would you rather be betrayed by Sadeas on the Tower (with no Kaladin there to save the day), or be killed by Nale in the name of "justice"?
  6. The more about Araris I think, the less suspicious he seems. I think I'm just paranoid about him for no reason. I'm not really liking Wyrmhero's voting patterns. The day that the lynch was between Nyali and Rae he voted Rae, and now he's just assisting with the bandwagon on Assassin, whom I'm reading as village.
  7. Cassius awoke feeling refreshed. He hardly remembered the screaming from the previous night: he'd shoved it out of his mind as soon as he had realized it came from a man. It gave him a lot of surprise but yet little concern, then, when Cassius found Ryth's body laying in the street. Poor guy, but hey, that was one fewer man in the city to watch out for. Then again, someone else had found Nicki's body, so that was one fewer woman, too. There were one fewer of a lot of things, lately: one fewer man, one fewer woman, one fewer of Cassius' robes--in the dark he had brushed up against a pile of ash, but hadn't noticed it until now, and an ashen robe is most definitely not proper. He had burned the robe with the latest batch of incriminating letters. Right now I suspect Araris most. Manukos' actions have seemed suspicious, but I think that that's because he's still getting into the groove of how these games usually play out. Araris has been giving me a bad feeling in my gut (not related to Aralis' cooking). Last cycle, when his vote was Soothed, he immediately thought that it must have been a vote-coloring error on his part. Why did Araris not suspect manipulation targeting him? Well, maybe he just thought that he was in no danger of being manipped. But it also could have been because he knew that the elims didn't target him--because he is one--and forgot about me. I know that this evidence is mainly circumstantial, but it's the best that I've got.
  8. It's on the 4th. Aman extended signups. @TheSilverDragon
  9. Coinshot race with Wax. Although I'd definitely lose, it would be an exhilarating experience, one that wouldn't end with me waking up who-knows-where the next morning. Would you rather be made into an Inquisitor or be replaced by a hostile Kandra?
  10. In case I die tonight, right now I'm most suspicious of Manukos and Araris, and would trust Rae with my life. I'm swapping colors for clarity. RP will now be in purple. For what was now far too many nights in a row, Cassius was awakened by a scream. First it had been a Coinshot attack. Second it had been Rae stabbing herself before viciously attacking him (oh, had he been a Pewterarm...). Now, well, he had no idea. On went a different nightrobe, and off Cassius went. Although there had only been one scream, Captain Cassius had a way of finding and stopping trouble in the nick of time. Tonight, he found his steps heading out behind the tavern. He found nothing there but a couple of drunks passed out, but as he turned back he heard the scream again. But something was wrong with the scream. Something... disturbing. Cassius slid back into bed. The screaming was a man, and so Cassius no longer felt any urge to investigate.
  11. Good point; sounds good. If I remember then I'll start doing that.
  12. Would anyone be so kind as to confess to Soothing me? I hit Araris, not myself... @Araris Valerian The RNG selected you for Soothing, and I didn't bother to change the order when Seonid swapped his vote. That wasn't a vote color error, unless I missed it too.
  13. @Arraenae If it's something like prom where girls don't ask guys, but you want a particular guy to ask you, just tell him that you would love it if he asked you. Give him a couple of days, and he'll come up with something. Works with almost every guy, and he'll thank you because of it. Seconded. Especially if the girl already has something in mind; I'm always low on ideas for good dates.

  15. It wasn't you who I was referring to. It's all of these guys who just came out of the tavern that are accusing Assassin. They should at least placed their accusations before drinking; not right before nightfall. Captain Cassius standing by, comrades. Here's a list of who's called for killing whom so far: Drake (6): HH, Len, Assassin, Wilson, Hero, Rae Manukos (3): Wyrm, Jon, Stick Assassin (4): Gamma, Araris, Joe, Seonid Jondesu (1): Conq HH (2): Manukos, Drake @Assassin in Burgundy If you want to ensure your survival today (I for one think you're on the up-and-up), just Smoke one of us who's voting for Drake. I'm Soothing one of the voters on you. @Drake Marshall If you really are legit, I'm sorry.
  16. All of these last-minute votes have me on edge. If anything, they reinforce my suspicions of Drake. Also, I am using Brass tonight. I won't specify my target, but the nullification that pushes the lynch toward Drake will be mine.
  17. Would you mind doing a full role-claim later on if we do end up lynching you, so if you're village we'll know what actions were yours? @Drake Marshall (Stormy stuff; my tags just broke ).
  18. Wait a minute: we're overlooking the obvious. But fear not, Captain Cassius is here! [/ego] What if the elims did double-tap Arinian, but since he wasn't protected the first action killed him and the second action failed, thus not making the write-up? Right now I'm reading negatively on Drake. It's really just gut at this point, though.

  20. So I was in the shower, and I got thinking: what is the best way to stop a Mistborn with Atium? Sure, you can counter their Atium/Electrum of your own, but then its still a test of your skill against theirs. But is there a way to beat them every time, no skill involved? And then it hit me: all you would need is an Atium/Steel Twinborn. You burn Atium to cancel theirs, and then stab them in the heart with a glass knife before they can do anything. It's unsportsmanlike, sure, but it'd require no skill on your part and would work every time. Is this just a crackpot shower theory, or did I just hit on the ultimate counter for any Mistborn?
  21. No time to meme right now, but... Lurchers, Y U no protect Arin? Cassius yawned. He needed a good night's sleep, and that was more important than wondering about who killed Arinian. His Captain Cassius side would have to wait.
