Long Game (3)2: Pulling on Strings
Elenion replied to Orlok Tsubodai's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Seconded. It would be practically suicide to ditch your only scan protection. The Inquisitor might not want to play honorably, but they might enjoy a good battle of wits. But with what they did to Aman (RIP), I don't think it likely. We had 2 Tineye messages last cycle, so we know there's at least 2. I'm tempted to go vote with Jondesu on Ecth (I called Ecth for tunneling on me last Day), but that might lead to a discussion-killing bandwagon. Instead I'm thinking I'll vote Mage. We've already established that posting without doing too much discussion-wise would be a probable niche for the Inquisitor, and Mage definitely fits that description. And while I'm more suspicious of Ecth than Mage, I'll follow Lopen's advice and spread the love around. Ising the voting on Mage. -
Young Sadeas. Young Daliner would beat the chull droppings out of you, while young Sadeas needs the chull droppings beaten out of him. (Not literally, but you get my point) Would you rather have as your girlfriend Shallan or Vin? (note that this is, of course, assuming they're both single)

Long Game (3)2: Pulling on Strings
Elenion replied to Orlok Tsubodai's topic in Sanderson Elimination
*laughs* I'd like to agree with you, except that in itself might make me a good target for conversion. Take LG28, where Alv converted Doc because he'd just barely instituted a strategy designed to ensure that he wasn't converted. So don't get me wrong--I haven't been converted --but a vote each cycle I don't think would dissuade the Inquisitor from converting me, or anyone else with that type of attention on them. Then again, our Inquisitor has shown that they aren't a risk-taker by killing Aman, so maybe that idea has some merit as a way of screening players after all. Ah, scrap this train of thought. I'll include it in my post to show that I am ising the thinking, though. I played as Rand's companion in the Double Elimination game, where we were both village, and what I've seen here is very similar to the kind of things he brought up in our Alter-Ego PM. I'm inclined to read village on him because of it. That, or our old friend the Rioter is masquerading as a Soother while casting no vote of their own. -
Really my concerns weren't about the rules, but about my ability to RP in a world that I haven't dived into. I've got 4 AP tests coming up in May (Calculus, Biology, English Language, and English Literature), so even if I had a copy of Rithmatist right in front of me (which I don't) I couldn't guarantee I'd get to it before this game started.

I also think that the lack of sex between Lightsong and Blushweaver is one of the things that make the relationship what it is. Blushweaver has had her way in every other relationship she's been in, but Lightsong is the exception. He's an enigma that she can't figure out, and never does. To add in a sex scene between them would completely remove one of the most unique--and ironic--things about their relationship.

Long Game (3)2: Pulling on Strings

Ecth, why single me out? I put my vote on Drake for my own reasoning, which I explained. I didn't cast that vote just because that's what the crowd was doing, although it did end up where the crowd was. I had also considered voting for Araris or keeping my vote uncast. We have had some admitted bandwagoning this cycle (HH, Arin, and Drake with the self-pres vote), but I'm not part of that. So why vote me? @Ecthelion III -

Elenion replied to Orlok Tsubodai's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I'm voting on Drake because I'm 50/50 on him, and as he himself said that's definitely enough for a vote. That dare to lynch him was originally not alignment-indicative, but now that he's opposing it it's appearing more and more like a bluff. I can't say for sure, but I think I have used that as a bluff in a past game. Either that or I've considered it but decided against it. Anyway, most of his posting hasn't been alignment-indicative, at least to me, but what I have been able to get is a slightly-negative gut read. I'd say elim chances are 50/50, so my vote comes down. Not as a bandwagon, but as a gut vote with a bit of evidence. Ising the voting of Drake. -

I'd say I relate to Lightsong the most (like @Firerust the Terris Gyorn), because I'm an academics whiz, and so some of my friends tend to think that makes me good at lots of stuff I'm not really good at. That's gotten a bit out of hand, turning into "My computer is messed up. Elenion, can you fix it?" "Elenion, how do you get a perfect score on the ACT?" "Elenion, can you get so-and-so's number for me?" "Elenion, what's the 9th artery in the heart called?". It's like I'm the false god of the Elenion religion, where I am expected to provide revelation to my followers on all sorts of subjects. And if I do mess around on someone's computer and it starts working, they take it as a sign of my power, like Lightsong on the Tarachin field, when really I just accidentally bumped the black cable and it started working. I used to be a pessimist but now am a realist (autocorrect tried to turn that into racist), and enjoy a good joke at my own expense. I'd also say I relate to Kelsier in some respects. I'm an introvert who plans everything far beyond what is necessary. I hate doing a bad job, and prefer to master what skills I have instead of developing new ones. I'm generally cautions but prone to sudden risk-taking, particularly in things like games where the outcome doesn't really matter.

Mistborn, because getting metals in our society isn't that hard, while carrying around a bunch of glass-covered gemstones and leaving them on your roof during thunderstorms would provoke some pretty awkward questions. Also, a Mistborn has a much higher diversity of powers. Surgebinders can do a couple pretty awesome things, but Mistborn can fly using Steel/Iron, hulk up with Pewter, Soothe their parents and friends, Riot people's feelings of attraction to you, and so much more. If you had to commit murder, would you rather kill Sadeas or Camon?

Long Game (3)2: Pulling on Strings
Elenion replied to Orlok Tsubodai's topic in Sanderson Elimination
@Darkness Ascendant Most of my posts lately have been from my tablet, which is why they've all been relatively short, and the time involved to type up a full translation was more than I thought the translation would be worth. I'm sorry if that made them hard to read. The Tin Message: Decoded? (Ising the not being in High Imperial) --This might be completely wrong. But I found something interesting, so I may as well share my thought process from late last night.-- The white letters, alone: R L R N R S S A R L R L R N R S S A R L R N R S S A R L R N R S S A R L R Next, while making a count of letters, the numbers suspiciously began showing up close to multiples of 4. Turns out, the entire message can be broken up into the same letter sequence, with slightly different variations, repeated 4 times. I then divided it into "rows" Row 1: R L R N R S S A R L Row 2: R L R N R S S A R L Row 3: R N R S S A R L Row 4: R N R S S A R L Row 5: R Next up, I considered the heading: SEA 4:2. What this immediately reminded me of was the "Gloria Scott" code from Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes books. I looked at every 2nd white letter, every 4th white letter, every 2nd letter, every 4th letter, every 2nd black letter, every 4th black letter, every 2nd character, every 4th character, but got nothing. Dead end. I then started considering other codes. Repeated letters like this aren't typical of Caesar or Vignere cyphers, and if it is the key to a Vignere Cypher it doesn't look to decode the black letters. I scrapped that plan. And I remembered something: Lowercase "L" and uppercase "I" are the same character in this font. And if you convert every "L" to and I, you get: Row 1: R I R N R S S A R I Row 2: R I R N R S S A R I Row 3: R N R S S A R I Row 4: R N R S S A R I Row 5: R I only found this out after the fact, because in my thought process the next thing I did was use the player list to search for anagrams. I found a few possible player/character name matches (ALRIN in particular sparked my interest), began to rearrange each row like an anagram, and hit gold: Row 1: ARIN IS RRRS Row 2: ARIN IS RRRS Row 3: ARIN RRSS Row 4: ARIN RRSS Row 5: R Now I'm not sure what to do with all of those extra Rs and Ss, but I find it an interesting coincidence (or more than that) that Arin's name comes out of that not once or twice but four different times. I PMed him last night asking if he knew anything about this, and then notified the thread that I had found a possible crack in the message. Then I went to bed, and have been busy watching LDS General Conference today, and since Arin still hasn't responded I've decided to just put my findings out there for feedback. Did I find something important? Is it just a coincidence? Did I decode the message completely wrong? Have those crazy letters finally driven me insane? -
One night I was up late, all by myself, and I legitly started hearing music that wasn't there. Like, it sounded completely realistic. I was wandering around the house after midnight looking for whomever had forgotten to turn their 80s Pandora station off. Never found it. Turns out, hearing things like that is a trick of the mind commonly associated with some types of anxiety disorder. And anxiety disorders tend to run in the family. Hmmm...

Ising the being of fairly sure that the kill on DK wasing made by a Coinshot. The Inquisitor wasing the having of no motivation to kill him, but a Coinshot could have hasing the wanting of removing an inactive. Ising the agreeing that the Crusade can wait for this cycle. Ising the attempting of decoding the hidden message in the tin. No hasing luck yet, but hasing barely started. -
I have the superpower of overplanning, especially for dates. Benefits: I never run out of gas, I'm always early or on time, I always have a thorough plan, and a backup, and a backup to the backup. I don't get lost, bored, or surprised, and I always have enough money. Drawbacks: prepping for a date takes up basically my entire afternoon, I spend the date silently cursing myself for forgetting something small that the girl didn't even notice, and people who procrastinate make me very irritated. I also have the "superpower" of very smooth, feminine hands. Don't ask.

What's worse are those cliche, overused fonts like Papyrus, Comic Sans, or Cooper Black. It seems like every small business uses one of the three.

Regarding your assertion that the Inquisitor would likely claim that they would have accepted Aman's challenge had they been evil, I think you're wrong in that respect. So far hasing the being of two players who have said that they would have taken Aman's challenge: Hero and I. Hero's claim seems consistent with what I've observed of his playstyle (he went all of AG3 hinting at his alignment in RP), and Elbereth and Mark can attest that I made comments regarding my enjoyment of challenges like this one in PMs during Awakening at the House on the Hill. So of the two people who have claimed that, I know I'm telling the truth and think Hero is too. -

A vote in a (considered) bandwagon ising the ising of better than a vote that wasing the not of being cast. -
@Rockobar But how would this sex/death philosophy explain social norms like the practice of having only one regular sexual partner at a time? Having multiple partners in one household, such as in polygamy, leads to increased sexual activity, an increase in birth rate, and the propagation of fitter genes into the gene pool of future generations. If human instinct was based solely off of sex drive, fear of death, and occasional biochemical imbalances due to mutation, we should expect to see polygamy and other multiple-partner relationships as a much more widespread social organization than it exists today.

My school has the opposite problem of some of your guys': we are required to take three trimesters of fine arts to graduate. That doesn't sound like a bad thing, until you get into one of those fine arts classes and find it filled with people who don't care about the art, only the credit. That's how you get drama classes full of people who can't read from a script, for one. Some of my best friends are actors, and it makes them very angry when they can't take a class without it being full of unmotivated jocks. (No offense to sports teams. Not all sports players are unmotivated jocks, but some are) -
