  4. what about those obvious foreshadow epigraphs? You know, " But it is not impossible to blend Their surges to ours in then end. It has been promoted and it can come. Or do we understand the sum? We question not if they can have us then, But if we dare to have them again. " or " There has to be an answer. What is the answer? Stop. The Parshendi. One of them. Yes, they are the missing piece. Push for the Alethi to destroy them outright before this one obtains their power. it will form a bridge. " or even "Hold the secret that broke the Knights Radiant. You may need it to destroy the new orders when they return."
  5. this line always confused me, since "hallowed" means the same thing as consecrated or blessed. Unhallowed means not being blessed
  6. could be any of the 16 then because they all knew each other
  7. Kal couldn't have murdered Sadeas before. A whole bunch of people saw him walk out of the portal from the Shattered Plains. His rescue of Dalinar was near the command tent and he was glowing like a floodlight in the middle of the night. I'm pretty sure everyone saw it. There's also the arena fight, which took place in front of half the Alethi army.
  8. At the end of one of the books. Most likely the fourth one or fifth one, if the voidbringers get to it at all. However, the very fact that it looks like an invincible fortress makes me think Brandon is gonna have the voidbringers burn it to the ground to add a sense of suspense and danger.
  9. I'm not sure Harmony not being able to defeat trell means Trell is just as powerful as Harmony. It might be because Sazed is unable to leave Scadrial to finish off Trell after driving him off.
  10. A physical body/presence like Ruin and Preservations' mist-person forms (the stormfather or nightwatcher might count too since Brandon RAFO'd it)
  11. well "physical embodiment" in the context of that question means more like a physical presence "like ruin chasing vin". So a godmetal might not count.
  12. if you could use nicrosil to make everyone a copper compounder it might make school obsolete except for a few select professions. Normal copperminds that everyone has cheap access to might not be able to do the same. However, I think universal copperminds could possibly stop the growth of school as an institution (we actually haven't seen any schools besides a single university on scadrial iirc)
  13. "Two blind men waited at the end of an era, contemplating beauty. " ~Wit "A blind man awaited the era of endings, contemplating the beauty of nature." ~Wit I didn't catch this on my first read, but I loved it after this thread explained it to me:
  14. Copper is relatively common and extremely reusable. Nicrosil might be tricky but it's mostly nickel and copper. The problem would be the production rate rather than the metals involved. The Scadrians also have a very strong incentive to find a way to produce nicrosil cheaply. I don't know if they can, but if they end up mass-producing nicrosil, school could very well become obsolete. Copperminds could be given to employees with the knowledge they need to become an expert at their job. A copper compounder could refresh their memories at the end of each day.
  15. It's quite possible that EVERYONE will have some forms of allomancy or feruchemy because of nicrosilminds and stuff, which would eliminate the need for school at all (why go to school when you can just compound copper and pass out coppermind textbooks?). However, I think Brandon is trying to make Scadrial roughly follow Earth's socioeconomic growth so it might not happen. If the information from BoM becomes common knowledge it's definitely a possibility, though.
  16. Szeth referred to the Sun as the "God of Gods" in Words of Radiance
  17. its probably a spiritual connection more than a biological one imo
  18. my bet is on shashara or maybe arsteel
  19. pretty sure the hulk doesnt need to breathe. Plus he can probably thunderclap or something to propel himself back to earth
  20. Huh. Can anyone think of some kind of cannister shot for grandbows? Not just splinters, but actual balls of lead that sprayed everywhere on contact like a frag grenade. Might not be effective against heavy infantry like the parshendi but against badly armored troops they would be devastating. Something like that might also be effective against shardbearers if you got the shrapnel into their eye slits.
  21. maybe an honorspren to determine worthiness too
  22. what about just moving fast enough that they can't react?
  23. I think it's pretty likely that it was the skybreakers who stayed. We can eliminate the Windrunners, Stonewards, Lightweavers, Elsecallers, and Edgedancers because the windrunners and stonewards were shown betraying their oaths and the others have spren that talked about losses to their spren "species". Bondsmiths are another possibility, but there are references in the books to the order of skybreakers existing in modern Roshar.
  24. i would imagine that the best way to kill a seer would be with explosives. Seeing the future doesn't help if no matter how you move you're going to die.
