  1. Kelsier said that he had to learn allomancy from Gemmel unless he wanted to start taking lessons from a nobleman or something like that I'm not sure how being snapped by the mists would create a weaker bloodline. Snapping doesn't change the genes, does it? A statistically appropriate number of mistfallen died. The Founders still would have been 16% mistfallen (maybe a little less because of the deaths) because to survive they had to walk in the mists at least a little bit in order to reach the storage caverns.
  2. So I don't know if anyone has discussed this possibility before, but the Bands of Mourning seem like they could be replicated relatively easily for an artifact of that magnitude of power Step 1. Create an exact physical copy of the bands Step 2. Compound Nicrosil and put the extra investiture into the new copy Step 3. Profit??
  3. Feruchemy makes it possible for literally everyone to be a fullborn as long as you have one fullborn to start with (if i interpreted the BoM text correctly). If there was just one full feruchemist left they could give (or more likely, sell) metalminds that could make anyone a full feruchemist to everyone
  4. Gemmel was a skaa mistborn too IIRC. Vin was chosen because she was mistborn, not the other way around. That is stated in HoA i think. I'm pretty sure that those who became mistfallen would have been able to pass on allomantic heritage just as well as noble families did. After all, they both recieved their allomancy directly from preservation's power. I'm not sure what you mean by "snapped normally". The way I read it, it seemed like the mists just put the mistfallen through extreme stress in order to make them Snap after giving them powers. Seems just as normal as any other stressful event imo.
  5. nah feruchemy can do pretty much everything hemallurgy does
  6. bullets>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>arrows. a longbow has an fps of 150 a civil war rifle has an fps of 900 lots of people have access to guns. There are 0 gun regulations and each house has the industrial capacity to produce thousands in a month. Add that to the fact that nearly everyone in the Roughs would have access to a gun and each person with a gun is worth five alethi, and this conflict becomes lopsided indeed. Scadrians have access to cannons. They even have a ship with cannons now. Scadrians have a lot more than 1500 mistings. Remember, roughly 16% of the original populations of the Elendel Basin would have had allomancy from before the Final Ascension. Even if the number of Allomancers have regressed each year, we're looking at at least one in 50 scadrians as useful allomancers (rioters, soothers, coinshots, lurchers, tineyes, thugs), meaning that the number of allomancers is going to be closer to a million than 1500.
  7. Well we wouldn't see it if he did act since no one shard can overpower him enough to cause visible effects in AoL. In fact he probably is acting due to him seeming "distracted" in BoM
  8. i think the honorblades could possibly be used to produce stormlight where none exists by drawing it from highstorms anywhere (balancing out the additional stormlight needed for honorblade lashings). They can probably also generate some form of shardplate too. I assume they can also shrug off shardblade wounds and/or steal stormlight from other people since just one of them threatened to destroy every surgebinder and he probably had the power to follow through with it.
  9. Well if he was 100% preservation aligned then he wouldn't have been able to pick up Ruin. The only way he could have picked up both is if he was connected to both. Sure he may have wanted preservation but he also recognized the need for destruction to happen. I think Sazed can (and does) act when his planet/people are being threatened as well. The "red smoke" in BoM is an example of this. If Sazed only cared about protecting himself he could just leave Scadrial.
  10. in which case the old arguments come up with Scadrial outnumbering them three to one and having more magic users, commanding an army of over 300,000 ten-foot troll soldiers, and being generally stronger due to Scadrial's stronger gravity
  11. deadpool is different. Thanos "cursed" him to have eternal life so he would be separated from his lover Death.
  12. I'm not sure Odium could kill a fully fed galactus. Even his heralds who are imbued with a tiny amount of his power can shatter planets. Odium might be able to kill a weakened or underfed galactus, although with the abundance of inhabitable planets in the cosmere, I can't see galactus going hungry
  13. He probably wouldn't be able to eat shards. He sustains himself by eating biospheres. However, he can interact with abstract beings by adopting a cosmic form according to http://marvel.com/universe/Galactus.
  14. What would happen if Galactus arrived in the Cosmere and started eating planets?
  15. he also said that she acted like a normal windspren then
  16. i mean he wouldnt have spheres on the battlefield anyway so he wouldn't have access to stormlight anyway. Besides, Syl only says that she "helped men kill before" in WoK. She says similar things in WoR but only referring to the tower battle
  17. there are no parshendi left as of the current timeline except maybe those deserters who refused to take stormform. Technically there are no voidbringers either since the everstorm has yet to reach shinovar
  18. i meant the time kaladin dodges helarans blade and gets close enough to stab him in the eye. Plus, the shardbearers are presumably expertly trained as well
  19. I think that's kind of odd though cause the new shardbearers are stated to be clumsy. I'm skeptical of this quote mostly because Shardbearers have no speed feats. Sadeas doesn't shoot his arrows any faster than a standard archer. Gavilar can only tag Szeth when he gets super close. Two shardbearers are so thoroughly outmatched speedwise against kaladin he notes that he could probably dodge their swings blindfolded, etc. Kaladin with little to no stormlight (he had basically no bond with syl at that point) is still faster than a shardplate user.
  20. If there is a boost in speed, I think it's either a boost in muscular speed only (not mental speed) or basically negligible since Kaladin is dodging shardbearer blows with relative ease even before he started using stormlight and casually outpacing them once he gets stormlight. Plus, whenever Brandon does increased speed, he makes sure to contrast it with the character's experience without the speed boost, often stating how they feel "sluggish" (kaladin/vin). I think that since the strength boost makes their bodies move faster, they interpret that as their muscles moving faster. A strength boost means that their bodies will be moving faster but their reflexes are not necessarily amped.
  21. An inexplicable space-metal that can take hits from beings of shard-like power
  22. Unless we're going with MCU captain america his shield is partly made of asgardian metal, plus the beings that shattered cap's shield in the past are a way out of shardblade weight class.
  23. Magic System:Feruchemy, since I feel it's the one that could contribute most to a society and its possible for anyone to use it through nicrosil gimmicks Character:Sazed, since I feel he has one of Brandon's most complete character arcs (although I would still vote marsh if i could) Book: I put warbreaker before I realized there was an other category. Ugh. Well, I would have put other for his novella The Emperor's Soul and the Infinity Blade novellas. I really like how he sticks to the art theme in The Emperor's Soul and how he
