  1. Cap's shield has energy redirection properties so I'd say it holds up to a shardblade If Wax manaees to get close enough to Iron man he can crush him, but I think Iron man will just snipe him from a mile away with a missile or something too fast for Wax to push
  2. It also depends on how you see yourself, so if he thought of himself as young he might live a good deal longer than that
  3. eh i think the soulcasters could just run on stormlight and the gemhearts they already have... It's not much of an advantage tho because they still need more gems for repairing shardplate and the scadrians have canned food
  4. Could hoid's original master be Adonalsium? I know it's unlikely but do we have any WoBs to rule it out?
  5. there are no voidbringers or parshendi technically right now since the current Roshar timeline has the everstorm hitting shinovar in a day. Chasmfiends are not intelligent enough to fight alongside Roshar. They would probably kill as many of Roshar's soldiers as Scadrial's.
  6. gravitation surge/feruchemical iron synergizes well because u can use less stormlight to fly, as well as increasing your weight to deal more damage with dropping onto people type attacks and healing yourself afterward with stormlight feruchemical steel/allomantic steel fairly obvious. superspeed is one of the most overpowered combat abilities, coupled with flying and a projectile attack is almost unbeatable.
  7. He was a radiant later and was hand-picked by the Stormfather for the visions, which seems suspiciously similar to a Nahel Bond. He also had several instances where he should have died and responded with increased speed and strength beyond what a normal human should have. (chasmfiend fight, szeth lastclap, last duel with Szeth)
  8. Dalinar may or may not have been using stormlight at that time. Also, when he beat up elhokar he was low on stormlight and had smashed up plate.
  9. I mean if the thug didnt get cut in half or something i could see him pulling it off since he's going to be able to lift 600 pounds or more x1.43 for the gravity issue
  10. given that normal humans are 43% stronger on Scadrial, i'm not sure about that.
  11. Dalinar cracks elhokar's breastplate in three punches. I think a pair of thugs could do the same with one baiting while the other goes in with a heavy weapon like a battleaxe or a warhammer
  12. Seons or something like them could be used i guess...What if the whole machine was a duralumin metalmind or something?
  13. nah...Skaa are literally bred to reproduce quickly and have dozens of children, most of whom survive. TFE is larger than Europe and has cities that contain hundreds of thousands of people. The people of scadrial are genetically engineered to survive on their world. As for the "forces of odium" thing, it doesn't really matter as there are no forces of odium right now in Roshar. It will take a few more days for the everstorm to reach the parshmen, so we have to wait until the next book to see what the Voidbringers are actually capable of.
  14. Adolin isn't an "unnamed schmuck" and Szeth was basically toying with him. Besides, pewter grants similar buffs to Stormlight.
  15. Coinshots have the strength to smash through thick bone. A duralumin steelpush on a coin would probably be roughly the strength of one of the most powerful modern sniper rifles. a good shot to the chest or head would kill a shardbearer instantly. In fact, any kind of hit on the breastplate would both seriously injure the shardbearer and leave them helpless. TLR knows about duralumin, as do the inquisitors. shardbearers are insanely effective against the common battle tactics of Roshar, which include a tight formation of spearmen with shields. Shardbearers sweep through this formation with ease because of the tightly packed men. Also, spears are noted to be one of the worst possible weapons for fighting a shardbearer. An army that fought spread out, with weapons that are just as effective as shardblades for smashing Plate, would be extremely effective at fighting shardbearers. Just as effective would be a force of men that could dodge enemy Blades with ease and strike with the strength of five men. Oh and remember that once a mistborn gets a hold of Plate and Blade they'll basically be a KR with a shotgun(coins), even more fear factor than they would have normally(emotional allomancy), and atium. Plus their coinshots would be even stronger given their extra weight.
  16. ewww...Isn't Khriss really old?
  17. are elantrians really immortal? I thought the book said "long-lived".
  18. I did read bands of mourning, but the box doesn't really burn allomancy itself; you burn the metals and the box just stores the effects
  19. Since Hemallurgy seems to be able to grant individuals the powers of allomancy and feruchemy, is it possible that one could use hemallurgy on a machine somehow to let it automatically use the metallic arts? If so, giving a machine steel compounding could certainly pave the way for ftl travel in the cosmere. Thoughts?
  20. Pretty sure theres more than 50 mistborn in the empire. Each great house has at least 2 or 3, and I can't imagine that Great House mistborn are only found in great houses when there are hundreds of minor houses around the Empire. Pretty sure Venture had at least 3 mistborn, probably more like 5 or 6. Straff mentions to Elend that the mistborn that was dead near Keep Venture "wasn't one of ours", implying that there are at least a few Venture mistborn that Elend knows about (he didn't know about Zane). Besides, it's implied in The Eleventh Metal that Kelsier and Gemmel end up assassinating six or seven noble mistborn at the very least. If there were 60 mistborn in the empire, that would mean that a third of the non-Luthadel mistborn were dead. Every mistborn would be on alert and we don't see that kind of alarm in the books.
  21. Gavilar was swinging and missing for most of the fight. He only tried the punch when szeth was too close to stop it. Gavilar didn't need superhuman reflexes to hit Szeth since Szeth went in super close and the superhuman muscular strength of the Shardplate would have made the blow undodgable by Szeth. You don't need superhuman reflexes to make your punch move fast and Gavilar was seasoned enough to anticipate Szeth's rush. It wasn't superhuman speed.
  22. Thats what I was thinking until Szeth dismantled adolin twice, who was reportedly better than Gavilar. He also beats protoradiant-Dalinar
  23. Kandra won't even be needed for this, but the only reason that they don't kill because The Lord Ruler doesn't want them to. If his empire is under attack, he could alter the Contract to suit his needs. A low end estimate of the numbers of soothers or rioters would be 5,000 (each great house had at least half a dozen, and they can't possibly control more than a tenth of the world's allomancers). That makes 10,000+ emotional allomancers. 10,000 emotional allomancers can influence close to half a million soldiers. Koloss blood frenzy lasts for over six hours. No army of average joes can kill a koloss army, since they get angry when they are attacked, and Cett's army tried the same thing and lost two thousand men to a garrison of 500 koloss. Nobles would be drafted into the army by the steel ministry. We have seen armies draft noblemen in the past. Edit: Copy/paste error fixed
