well it's pretty rare and valuable. Apparently they only used it for jewelry and i doubt they're wearing jewelry into battle -
The Ultimate List of Questions for Brandon

were there ever any natural sources of aluminum on Roshar? Could aluminum block a shardblade? -
I probably got a few things wrong, but this is how i see it: one-above all random near-omnipotent entities (living tribunal, akhenaten, cyttorak, molecule man etc.) High Cosmic entities (Eternity, Death, Infinity, Oblivion,IG Thanos) Abstracts (Franklin richards, mikaboshi, Phoenix Force, Fully Fed Galactus)- Universal Threats High Skyfather (Adonalsium, Rune King Thor, Glory, High Celestials, Cosmic Cube)- Galaxy creator/destroyer Skyfather (Odin, Zeus, Mephisto, Dormammu, Surtur, badly fed galactus, Normal Celestial, Harmony??)-solar system+ Herald (Thor, Silver Surfer, Fallen One, Beta Ray Bill, Sentry, other planet-busters)-Normal shards are on the high end of this High Tier(I know, amazing name): (Ronan the Accuser, Red Hulk, Extremis Iron Man, Lord Ruler, Mistmetal Vin)-City breaker Mid Tier (Heralds, Marsh, Storm, Raoden, Iceman, Thing, Vision, Professor X, Juggernaut) Low Tier (Kaladin, Normal Vin, Iron Fist, Thing, Iron Man, Namor, Dakhor Monk, Black Panther, Captain America, Vasher)

movie scarlet witch loses badly if he has elantris's full power. Comic scarlet witch blinks him out of existence

2. Iron man comics is absurdly strong and Thor and Hulk are planet smashers. In the movies Thor is still a lot stronger than a thug. His best hits are probably duralumin thug level (considering he uses a magic hammer) and Iron man was fighting almost evenly with him. 3. Maybe. Even with atium comic book iron man should destroy her though.
-
Could a Shardblade kill a marvel powerhouse? (Odin, Dormammu, Mephisto, Galactus, etc.) If not could Nightblood do it?
-
1. duralumin got nothing on the crap comic book iron man has survived (nukes for one thing). Movie iron man would get rekt though 2. thor>>>>>>>>>>>random thug. Not even close. And he couldn't break the armor when they fought. Cap and Bucky manage to break the armor only after an extended fight, even after Iron man got dozens of cars dropped on him during the airport battle. A duralumin pewter blow might have a chance, but usually stuff like that just sends him flying instead of breaking his armor 3. Atium probably won't work on repulsors, since they're energy not matter
-
Vibranium shield was what made cap win that one. Plus it was basically two thugs against iron man in an enclosed space, which favors the two thugs a lot.
-
Should have clarified. If the sovereign is kelsier, kelsier wins. Otherwhise, Magneto tears Kelsier apart with the metals in his stomach.
-
magneto is broken af. Current kelsier beats him though(maybe)

except for mistborn era 1, where 95% of the population dies, as well as the two main characters

If i didn't day this before, Vin takes round one because Tony's too cocky to start by flying around and sniping her with projectiles/lasers/repulsors, while Tony takes the next two (he has prep for those rounds, so he could just nuke her if he wanted) Besides, if he uses aluminum armor, he is a good amount stronger than vin, and one hit from a repulsor or some kind of aluminum based rocket would probably end her. Besides, I'm not sure vin can get through the armor even if its made of aluminum. There doesn't need to be much aluminum there for it to be immune to investiture.

as long as the Rosharians aren't all dead by the end of Book 5
-
Your responses earlier in the thread all assumed Vin has time to react to a missile fired from a mile above her head. That is nothing to a missile, even stark's unibeam has the range to kill her from a mile out. Oh, I was assuming that Iron man gets access to his satellites and stuff. And lol unless vin suddenly has millisecond reactions she will be dead before she can steelpush anything. You have to separate the item in your mind to push separate parts of an item. Vin will barely have any time with the missile in eyeshot. She probably will have a tenth of a second at best to pull off what took wax five seconds or so of concentration to do (and he's a steel savant, unlike vin)
-
a proper missile will be coming down at hundreds if not thousands of mph and if vin wouldn't have the reflexes to react to it. Besides if iron man has prep he will bring in some giant missile and she won't be able to push it without crushing herself. She wouldn't be able to hold him down with a pull; she would just start flying after him in a straight line. Once Iron man got high enough she would die and if he gets going at top speed she will tear herself apart.

A war between Scadrial (era 2) and Roshar
asterion137 replied to Bowiespoon's topic in Cosmere Discussion
What i was envisioning was wax and wayne hopping in perhaps 15 feet away from the shardbearer with bendalloy and steeljumping, wax aiming under bendalloy like he did to miles, and shooting the shardbearer and getting out quickly with steel again. Wax has shot bullets out of the air before. He shot a gun off of a moving train, he shoots miles's gun while they are both moving around, as well as various other ridiculous feats of marksmanship -
Well the intent is not harmony-that would be the same as preservation
-
Harmony isn't really a shard-it's a conglomeration of 2 shards, Ruin and Preservation.

A war between Scadrial (era 2) and Roshar
asterion137 replied to Bowiespoon's topic in Cosmere Discussion
30-40 bullets might seem like a lot, but when there are coinshots doubling the strength of every bullet and a single bullet that hits the eyehole will kill, the bullets will add up very quickly. Besides, if the shardbearers become a real threat, Elendel could just send Wax&Wayne to kill them all in an hour or less. They're basically anti-shardbearers with Wax's ability to shoot Shardplate eyeholes, Wayne's speed bubbles to get them in and out fast, and Wax's giant shotgun just to top it off Alethkar isn't exactly the epitome of unity either. Besides, their threatening armies, shardbearers, and radiants are technically not even in alethkar at the moment, so technically they should only get their in-alethkar fodder armies. -
If they have no knowledge of each other and meet randomly, then I say Iron Man will probably either go hand to hand or stay within eyesight of her, which are both terrible ideas. If they have knowledge of each others' powers and abilities, Iron man can just fly off at supersonic speed and drop a missile on her from a mile out and she won't be able to do anything about it.

plus if he was so inclined, he could give his powers to as many people as he wanted in nicrosilminds
-
I think if Banner died in Hulk form then it might work. Asgardians' powers are linked to their thoughts though and their thoughts as a lifeless probably couldn't trigger their magic. On the other hand they "keep some of their skill when they were alive" so it might be possible.

A war between Scadrial (era 2) and Roshar

but wouldn't getting allomantic powers from the mists produce the same effect as being descended from a noble line? They seem to have a similar magnitude of power and get it from the same source in different forms
