  1. Actually this seems like a really good way to take advantage of gnats since they can help fill lots of unkeyed duralumin/aluminum metalminds with compounding. Some kind of "metalmind pill" doesn't seem that hard to manufacture (really just 2 pieces of metal).
  2. Steelrunning would let the coinshots make more jumps in the same amount of time. Also coinshots drop the coins behind them so they can push themselves forward, which would negate the need for a running start.
  3. I just think people are underestimating the skaa soldiers in this fight. Given a few months Ham trained some skaa soldiers pretty darn well, as five thousand of them were able to kill several thousand Garrison soldiers while outnumbered six to one. Possibly even more Garrisoners died when the Garrison was sent to hunt down the survivors. BTW TLR can muster a ridiculous number of skaa soldiers: "literally millions" according to Kelsier. I would say Roshar can field four hundred thousand veterans at best, along with another million or so who are on par with the skaa.
  4. I meant what normal coinshots do (not really flying i guess) at a higher speed. Coinshots usually drop the coin behind them before they push on it, so a running start shouldn't be necessary. Steelrunning seems to affect your reflexes too. If it didn't, Bleeder wouldn't have been able to kill all those men at the auction by shooting all of them in the space of a second.
  5. double steel twinborn = flying+infinite superspeed=flying at superspeed?
  6. Could any misting become a compounder by getting a universal metalmind, and then swallowing and burning it?
  7. I mean if Rosharans marched into Scadrial and so lost access to stormlight, they would be a lot less resistant to disease than Scadrians would marching into Roshar because skaa were engineered to have strong immune systems so the Lord Ruler wouldn't lose his workers to disease and the skaa live on a dying world and breathe in ash every day
  8. Terris and Shinovar have always seemed really similar to me. (isolated countries, different customs, odd, enigmatic people, not warlike at all)
  9. Scadrians are really hardy compared to Rosharans though, so diseases are really more of a threat to Roshar
  10. Actually, in WoR, Dalinar has 6k troops "after heavy recruiting". So he has 6,000 troops as of WoR, after losing 5400 at the tower and gaining 1000 bridgemen and probably 1000 new recruits. 6000+5400-2000=9400, which is his original army numbers.
  11. Maybe...but Dalinar and Sadeas had the largest armies on the plains with 10,000. Also, I'm pretty sure 60,000 people didn't die between WoK and WoR
  12. Dalinar said in WoK that all the highprinces marching toward the center would be 150,000 troops. Four armies in WoR had 30,000-35,000 people total. Plus Dalinar had one of the largest armies in WoK with 10,000 or so troops. Really weird if you ask me
  13. So i was right about perpendicularities not being the same as shardpools all the time
  14. good point i forgot about soulcasters feeding the armies. I guess 20 million is a lot more reasonable than 100 million
  15. I don't think ten million people would support armies of 700,000 or more
  16. did anyone suggest f-steel and a-bendalloy? Instead of tapping steel all the time, you can just use it when your speed bubble is down. Basically a steel compounder lite lol
  17. well Kelsier only broke the crystals, not the shardpool, and Hoid said Kelsier broke "the only perpendicularity with any ease of access"
  18. A million actually seems on the low end since Roshar probably has a population exceeding a hundred million and Jasnah doubts there's a village in Roshar without parshmen (Hearthstone alone had upwards of fifty from the destruction they caused)
  19. Are you sure the parshmen won't just be changed to stormform like the parshendi were?
  20. Not sure "shardpools" means exactly the same thing as "perpendicularities" cause the pits of hathsin were a perpendicularity.I was thinking of perpendicularities as something like "physical representations of a shard's power" or something
  21. voidbringer army>koloss army imo since voidbringers will have thunderclasts and probably a million stormforms at least
  22. pretty sure we're assuming some kind of alliance on Roshar since eceryone there wants to kill each other otherwise
  23. if we knew how voidbringers fought and included the transformed parshmen i think this would be a lot closer
  24. The inquisitors would probably come around with Ruin blocked (I guess we're assuming some kind of alliance since Roshar is a bunch of rival kingdoms), so even then Scadrial probably stomps with buffed inquisitors/koloss alone.
  25. This thread reminds me of how inconsistent the army numbers are in Stormlight Archive: WoK said 150,000, WoR had four highprinces with just over 30,000(including a weakened Dalinar). Still, 85,000=/=150,000
