I doubt it's a lerasium alloy, just because that would cause massive problems plotwise. If people can extract lerasium from ettmetal, it wouldn't take long for them to try burning it.

Wayne's impersonations have been confirmed to be fully non-supernatural, iirc. Nothing to do with his metal powers. I think the same is true for Miles. He's just felt so much pain, and unlike normal people he doesn't need the pain to survive, so his body has shut that system off. Not sure if this has been confirmed or anything, but that's my feeling. In other words, it's not a result of being a bloodmaker savant, but rather by having dulled out his pain response over and over. A natural response to a supernatural power, so to speak. Wax' bubble seems to be a result of his savantism, though. Pretty sure that's been confirmed by Brandon as well. I reckon his investigation skills are from normal experience, but steelsight helps finding evidence, I guess. I guess Spook's point is that Ruin doesn't exist anymore, so it doesn't really matter if Ruin corrupted him before. Also, he lived for a very long time, and probably wrote the book decades after the Final Ascension. I don't want to say too much about what the "Visitors from other worlds" thing is, because of spoilers from other cosmere places (including BoM)... It's a very interesting article

It's not that it's poisonous (it might be), but since it explodes in water, you don't want it anywhere near your insides...

I read somewhere that the Stormfather is a merging of an older spren and the cognitive shadow of Tanavast, but I don't remember if that was a theory or fact Cultivation is alive though (Hoid refers to her as such), so she can't have the exact same relationship to the Nightwatcher.

I think there are some quirks, like objects not touching the ground being affected less than they otherwise would by the lashing... that would imply there's some Connection shenanigans going on, rather than just a normal gravitational field. I'm not sure though.

I think it's Ettmetal. "Ett" is Swedish for "One", which fits well with the Southern Scadrians' view of Harmony. Also, the two shards that make up Harmony are very different, so that might be why it easily explodes. Thirdly, it has a very unique way of interacting with, and enhancing, Investiture. Unless there's some WoB that contradicts this, it just makes a lot of sense to me. This would probably mean that it doesn't make people into Feruchemists, since it's lethal to eat... maybe a lerasium-harmonium alloy? (I still think it should be Sazedium, by the way) Edit: also, I'm pretty sure there is a Harmony shardpool in the south, since there have been Southern worldhoppers in the past. That could be where it's created and mined.

Ah, right! I had seen those WoBs, so I'm not sure why I had forgotten them...

I finished Uprooted yesterday as well, and enjoyed it too. I wasn't overly interested in Temeraire before, but I might give it a shot. I think those books are pretty different, but still.

Well, in Shallan's case her bond wasn't very strong, and one of the acts was in self defence. But yeah, I agree about not extrapolating too much between Radiants.
-
Hmm... I haven't really thought about it before, but many of Jasnah's actions don't really follow "Life before death"... I would have thought that oath prevented assassinations... Also the alley scene. She and Shallan were in danger, but Jasnah deliberately tried to find people to kill. So I guess that oath is very broad, or I've misinterpreted it. You could argue that her actions in the long run were aligned to life, so to speak, but that's not how Kaladin's protection oaths worked: he couldn't cause the death of the king even if he thought it could save more people in the long run. That's a different oath of course, so yeah.

Is Sazed really getting paralyzed? He's chosen not to interfere too much with mortals, but that's not necessarily a direct consequence of his Intents. Is there a WoB or book quote about it?
-
Even better since Scadrial doesn't have a moon, so they don't even know it's a pun themselves!
-
Probably. Maybe Azir and the Shin can compare (though the Shin can use the Blades, so that's not fair). Kharbranth seems to be ahead by far, and it wouldn't surprise me if many ardents get sent there to learn.
-
Only Vorin lands have those restrictions on darkeyes and men. Scadrial probably still has a smaller knowledge gap, though.
-
I don't think they are, since they are trying to recruit Shallan. They only hunted Jasnah because her plans interfered with theirs somehow.

Right now, between books 2 and 3, there really aren't many Knights - and only one or two trained to use their powers in combat, as far as we know. There seem to be many around the world who are starting to bond with spren, but most of them can't fight or anything. As far as we know, only Kaladin, and possibly Jasnah, can use their powers to fight efficiently. Kaladin definitely, but Jasnah's display in that alley seemed to exert her, and be more about shock and awe. Dalinar is a great fighter, but no longer has shards to fight with. Shallan has a blade, but no training. The only squires we know of are Kaladin's closest. I don't doubt that a Knight would make a big difference, but there aren't many of them yet.

You can choose "Full version" down at the bottom of every page. The normal version is obviously not made for mobiles, but it still works.

Darkness knew about stormlight regeneration, so I doubt he'd allow Ym to heal.

Honor is splintered, so his power is kind of... spread out. I don't think we really know for sure exactly what effect a splintered shard has on a planet... Edit: do we know if the splinters really did become spren? There were spren before Honor died, after all... Which ones are new?
-
Hm... That's not what I read from that. The Shin have the Honorblades. And the one the Listeners "left" in Alethkar was Szeth's - they threw away his oathstone as they ran away.

We also know that Adolnasium itself had something to do with Roshar, before the Shattering. The Nightwatcher might be an Adolnasium-aligned spren. That said, I think Wyndle refers to the Nightwatcher as "Mother" or something, and Wyndle feels very much of Cultivation.
-
Hm... They are very far apart, and it's possible that Glys was already bonding to Renarin when Ym was alive... Also, remember that Lift has a special connection to the cognitive realm, and probably sees Wyndle differently compared to other Edgedancers. Ym's spren COULD be the same type as Lift's. I think it's more likely to be the same type as Renarin's, but still.

There are times in the book where people who just used Awakening experience the world growing less colorful around them, etc, but I don't have the exact quotes. It would probably be brought up when Vivenna puts all of her Breaths in one shawl after fleeing from the mercenaries.

Yeah, he's probably been there lots of times over the course of centuries, if not millennia. And many of those times, he arrived at the Peaks. It's interesting to think about what he's been doing there before, which events he made happen, or even stopped. We know he has something to do with the Worldsingers, but he could have done so much more.
